Absolutely disgusting.

Absolutely disgusting.
Hoichoi happily takes your money, then locks your subscription to one country like it’s 2005. Travel once and your paid account becomes trash — no warning, no refund, no shame. This isn’t a streaming service, it’s a cash grab wrapped in arrogance. Anti-user, greedy, and downright pathetic.

Awful customer service

I requested cancellation of my hoichoi subscription in November 2025. Support confirmed in writing that the subscription was cancelled and would not renew.

Despite this confirmation:

I was charged again in December 2025 (later refunded).

I was charged again in January 2026 (refunded after complaint).

I was charged yet again on 17 February 2026, despite written confirmation that the subscription was permanently cancelled and no further billing would occur.

Each time, support issues a refund after escalation, but the billing continues the following month. This indicates that cancellation is not being properly implemented on their backend systems.

This has caused repeated inconvenience and unnecessary stress. Customers should not have to dispute charges every month after cancellation has been confirmed in writing.

I strongly recommend that hoichoi review and fix their subscription cancellation and billing processes to prevent this from happening to others.

It's a scam.

It's a scam. Subscription is easy but there's no option to cancel. Also when you subscribe they setup auto payment without permission. So they keep charging even after cancelation. You have to contact them to stop charging your account.

Predatory subscription

Predatory subscription.

There's no option to cancel subscription from website and app. Unless you email them to cancel they will keep charging you. They don't even send notification for renewal. They won't even refund if it's auto renewed, I requested on the same the of renewal.

Worst app


Very in unprofessional support team.
Movies can’t cast since last two months support team asking for various details including video of problem but after providing everything no result except same stereo type mail from them.
Most probably they don’t have any technical team.Only trying to kill time.

None of the videos are playing…

None of the videos are playing in my mobile phone. Even if once it plays it does not cast with Chromecast. Earlier there were two files of each video but for last few days onle one file is available. For last one mont I have trying the support to help but only useless computerised response comes. Zero customer support

I have been a subscriber for Hoichoi…

I have been a subscriber for Hoichoi just to be able to watch Bengali content far from home abroad as I live in the UK. But I have to admit the customer support for such a platform is beyond appalling. No proffessionalism and they just do not care about a subscriber failing to login inspite of charging my account twice. Its an absolute shame they do not have a contact number! I highly recommend not to subscribe to this platform as there is absolutely no technical
Support and your money is drained. My next step is to inform OFCOM requesting strict action and if possible to ban this company who are doing business abroad with zero customer support.

Frustrating!

Some shows feel artificially prolonged just to kill time, with frequent slow-motion scenes that add nothing to the story. There are unnecessary couples and dialogues in some shows, making it all feel like a huge time-waster. Nothing memorable, no memorable stories. Plus, the streaming time is EXTREMELY seriously DELAYED.

The only exception I found was "Rumi." The subordinate detective actress's performance is natural and more impressive than many Bengali prominent actresses of this time. Also, one thing I especially appreciate in "Rumi" is that the detective subordinate isn't bullied by her boss, Rumi. This is noteworthy because ever since Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay's Shabar started to bully his subordinate, every detective in official setups seems to follow this trend of bullying their subordinate. "Rumi" overcomes this dogma, which is understandable since the story demands that Rumi would have a love interest in the subordinate detective. However, even "Rumi" is taking forever to release new episodes. So frustrating!
