For the sake of balance, I felt the need to write of my positive experience with this company.
I placed an order in Nov 25 for a bespoke painted kitchen cupboard and gave a small deposit, unaware of negative reviews on Trustpilot. Communication was prompt and I was told the lead time would be 14-16 weeks.
The cupboard was received a few weeks ago as scheduled. It was delivered promptly by the courier, exceptionally well packaged and exactly as ordered without fault.
I’m sorry for others who have been left disappointed with their experience but in my case, I was not and feel very pleased with my order/ purchase.

A table I had ordered form Home Crafted Furniture was delivered on 13/12/25 and first impressions were very good. A week later a crack appeared in the table top. On close examination I could see that the stain used on the table top was also on the inside of the crack which had appeared, proving that the crack existed prior to finishing and it had only been held together by the final varnish. After a week in the warmth of my house the wood must have dried out and the crack reappear.

Stephen Griffiths, the owner of the company has refused to accept that it was his problem and I’m now left with a damaged table (and minus £510).

Beware doing business with this person. Any problems will NOT be addressed.

I spent over £1,200 for a custom piece of furniture, it arrived damaged and the paint had bubble wrap marks in it, drip marks and areas where it had been painted without sanding. I am still waiting on my refund, the courier confirmed they returned it 2 weeks ago. Stephen Griffith answered my second email after I chased him but has ignored the last ones. I’ve contacted my bank to retrieve my refund via a section 75 claim as I paid my deposit via credit card before paying the balance by bank transfer, which was the only way they let you pay as they no longer have any other way to accept payments……do not buy from this man.

I wish I could add photos so you could see how bad this was.

Update 5.11.25 Stephen Griffiths said he was repairing the damage repainting it and would be sending the unit back to me, I advised I did not want it, it reminded me of something you would buy from a charity shop to do up not a £1,200, customer piece of furniture.

I have reported him to Trading standards, he is director of three companies and has done this to at least another customers as they have left a review on this site,

I paid over £400 for furniture which never arrived and no refund and no communication until tracked down. The director Stephen Griffiths closed the company A5furnishings .co.uk without informing anyone and is now director of homecraftedfurniture. BEWARE!
