Were it Thanksgiving

Were it Thanksgiving, the ham would taste great. Off season, not so good.
On 02/18/26, my husband and I were doing business in that area, saw the Honey Baked Ham place and decided to do business with them again.
Domenica was very nice and personable.
She gave us (according to our receipt) 1 Ham, Half Ham / 1lb for a cost of $96.54. (No tax)
When we arrived home, my husband chose to section the ham and found it to be very tough on the outside and there was no honey taste anywhere.
I chose to write it off as a loss and never to go there again.

Later, 02/24/26, Tues, when my husband thought to let them know of the quality of their product; it was taken as if ..."OKAY...WE'LL SEE". "Bring in your receipt and we'll make an adjustment".
I would not recommend this location in Upland, CA., except if it for Thanksgiving.

Customer Service Rewards Issue

I went in and placed an order but never received a receipt. The cashier had thrown my receipt in the trash, but she retrieved it when I requested. However, the rewards number was not on the receipt. I did not see this before I left the store. I believe this was intentional. I called 1-800-367-7720 and talked with Laura who tried to assist however she was not able to help. I called the Spartanburg SC store at 864-585-4267 and talked with Charlotte who took my name and phone number and would research the issue. I have not heard anything from her. Bad business practice. Lost customer.

WORST HAM EVER

I got our ham in Pickerington Ohio on hill rd it was the worst ham we have ever gotten . The hole end was pure fat one hundred dollars for a fatty ham.I could have done better at Walmart. VERY DISAPPOINTED had family over to be disappointed what a shame.

Drove to the Honey Baked Ham Marlton location today specifically for lunch. Upon arrival, staff informed me they’re not making sandwiches until after December 25th—a full week away—because they’re “focused on holiday orders.”

What This Cost Me:
• Round-trip drive time and gas wasted
• Forced to find another restaurant for lunch
• Zero advance warning on the website, Google listing, or any phone message

The Real Issue:
Honey Baked Ham shut down their core sandwich business for an entire week during peak season. This isn’t a small staffing hiccup—it’s a failure in operational planning and capacity. Successful businesses scale up during busy periods, not shut down a revenue stream and leave customers hanging.

Corporate Response: Nothing
I called corporate headquarters. No resolution offered. No accountability. Just excuses about “holiday volume” and that corporate doesn’t control how stores operate.

Bottom Line:
I came ready to spend money. They turned me away. Then corporate dismissed the complaint entirely. I’ve purchased holiday hams here before, but after this experience and the complete indifference to operational failure, I’m done. There are too many competitors who know how to run a business properly.

If you’re not making sandwiches, update your online presence and phone message to warn customers—or stop advertising sandwiches you refuse to make.

Heartless Company

This company has literally denied my mother what may be her last Thanksgiving meal and they don't care. My mother is battling cancer. Thanksgiving Day is also her 74th Birthday. With her cancer it may be her last Thanksgiving. I ordered a full honey baked ham meal with sides and desserts to be shipped as she is not well enough to cook. A portion of the ordered arrived. A cake and a few of the sides. I called "customer service" and was told there was nothing they could do. Even with a store 20 minutes away, they could not figure out a way to get a ham on a dying woman's table for Thanksgiving. Despicable. Honey Baked has been a part of our family's holidays for decades. NEVER again will I give a dime to such a heartless company.

Burnt, Dry Ham

I ordered a bone-in quarter ham for Mother's Day. We drove an hour and a half one way to Sacramento to pick up the ham.

We arrived shortly after the store opened, and we were the first and only customers in the store. Usually the store is packed and has long lines on major holidays. We have purchased Honey Baked Hams for over 40 years from various locations, and we have always been very pleased with how they looked and how wonderful they tasted. When we uncovered the ham on Mother's Day to heat and serve it, we were shocked at its appearance.

The ham looked burnt. The glaze had all cracked off the ham and was on the bottom of the aluminum foil wrapping. The ham tasted as dry as it looked. (See attached photos).

We are very disappointed with our purchase and don't plan to order from Honey Baked Hams for any upcoming holidays in the future as we have always done in the past. As I went to post my review online, I noticed the last posting from A.O. from three months ago.

The ham he purchased looks very similar to the one I bought. Apparently, this burnt, dry ham occurrence has not been remedied.

My husband and I went to the Honeybaked…

My husband and I went to the Honeybaked Ham store in Tolleson, AZ. We had been there before and had been very pleased. This time, we ordered sandwiches and a ham bone like before. A person dropped a ham bone on the counter which was small so we asked for a bigger one. The same person just dropped another one on the counter. The cashier was the only one that was pleasant. Only one sandwich was made which I caught so they had to make another. There were no chairs to sit inside so we had to sit outside. The sandwich was supposed to be warm. It wasn't. The ham bone weighed 4.75 pounds. The meat was full of fat and after trimming off the bone, we didn't even get a pound of meat. Very disappointed and will never visit again.

Honey Baked Ham is overrated!

My husband and I ordered a Honey Baked Ham for the first time for our 2024 Thanksgiving dinner with our son and his family. It was highly overrated! The taste of the ham was quite disappointing, very short on a honey flavor! Definitely not worth the $83.84 we spent! The only benefit was that it got me out of the kitchen so that I could play with my grandchildren!

Terrible

Terrible! I ordered 8 sandwiches for Saturday delivery via Door Dash. Order cancelled 30 minutes AFTER due for delivery. Will never order from HoneyBakedHam again!

Unexpected Bad Experience at Honey Baked Store

Over Christmas I had an absolutely horrible experience with My Local Store. It was so bad that store has lost my business. I buy a Christmas ham there each year and have for over a decade.
I went in this year. I asked for my charge to be split on 2 cards, as my bank card only had $20 left on it, and I wanted to put the rest on my $50 visa gift card, which itself didn't have enough to cover the charge.
I asked in advance the cashier assured me it was fine. She then proceeded to ring up $65 on my bank card causing an instant overdraft.
I asked for the manager, who was rude and immediately accusatory. Ignored the issue, refused to address it, except for saying loudly in front of the whole store repeatedly, "What do you want me to do about it, pay for it?!" This situation was mortifying and honestly unexpected.
I received no apology for the cashiers error. No offer to discount the product to make up for the error, no attempt to find any solution at all. I found the Lady Manager I was dealing with cold, unreasonable, and she honestly expected me to just leave the store and deal with it. I was intentionally made to look like I caused the problem, and was treated in the most horrible fashion as a customer.
After endless years of being a faithful customer. I
was dismayed that this is how a customer would be treated, especially during the holiday seasons. The absolute lack of professionalism that was displayed that day still bothers me. The experience left a negative feeling and impression, that I still get every time I drive by the store. I was so turned off by her actions, my yearly tradition of buying from there is over.

This is the pathetic ham that $50 buys you at the Rocky River Ohio HoneyBaked Ham corporation. Notice the pathetic coating on the top This is what you get for 50 bucks.

What an embarrassment to serve my family on Christmas Day.

DON'T DO IT!!

DON'T DO IT!!! I went into the store today and asked for sliced turkey breast, which was outrageously priced at $46.77 for 3.12 lbs. When I got home (an hour away from the store), I discovered the idiot sold me sliced SMOKED turkey, which I DID NOT ASK FOR and get nauseated even smelling. When I called the store, I was told that I would have to bring it back to the store before the close of business TODAY (it's now 4pm and, like I said, I'm an hour away) in order to exchange it. Otherwise, I'm just screwed out of $50, $20 in gas and two hours of my time -- FOR NOTHING. A friend who's here and tasted it says it's very dry and tastes like honey ham. Just what you want your turkey to taste like, right!? My cats won't even eat it. If I could've, I'd have given them zero stars. I DON'T RECOMMEND THEM!!

Their food made me sick!!! I got c. diff.
I purchased over $200 of food for Christmas and Super Bowl. I was sick with diarrhea for 2 weeks after Christmas and again after the Super Bowl. We had the brisket for Super Bowl. It smelled funny. I thought it was the BBQ sauce. We could not eat it. It was spoiled. No wonder it was half price. I’m glad I saved some for testing. I also saved the wrapping. Should I send it to the FDA?

I called their customer service number and was treated extremely rudely. After about an hour on the phone, I was told to call another number. That number was not in service. When I called back, I was asked the same questions again, another hour or so on the phone & told to call one of two numbers. One was disconnected

I called the second number I was told they had me in the system, and someone would call me back. That was 3 weeks ago and no call. I was on these calls for over 3 hours. I was sick with diarrhea for over 2 ½ weeks. I was on the phone for over 3 hours. No calls, nothing.
After 2 ½ weeks of diarrhea I was able to see a doctor and after testing it was determined that I had C. Diff, a very highly contagious intestinal disease. With meds I was able to recover but not after it contributed to a heart condition. Once I eliminated the c. diff my heart condition with the help of surgery was was eliminated. No help to HBH.

When confronted Honey Baked Ham turned the matter over to their insurance company, Hartford. I had Hartford through . . .. for my home and auto when I moved into my new house. I was told the rates were good and the claims were fast and just. That was not the case. In shopping the rates I was pleasantly surprised that other places were considerably less expensive for the same coverage. My experience with Honey Baked Ham proved that the claims department was also a rip-off. After almost a year and turned over to now the 4th adjuster they denied the claim. It took them over a month to get my medical records and then I WENT INTO THE RESPECTIVE MEDICAL OFFICES AND HAD THEM FORWARD TO HARTFORD.
I AM CONSIDERING SUING THEM. A CLASS ACTION MAYBE?

Tasty !!!

Honey Baked Ham’s are tasty. They also seem to be getting better in that the hams are getting spiral sliced better with less waste.

The brown sugar coating could be better applied as most of it just falls off.

The prices per pound are going up in cost which is normal for just about everything these days.

I used to get $5-$7 off coupons via email and USPS mail but those offers have seemed to disappear over the years.

Honey Baked Ham company

The company I work for gave us vouchers for a free turkey or ham. Upon arrival I was informed that they were out of ham so we could only get turkey. That was not what I wanted but no huge deal. The problem was the demeanor of the lady I dealt with, she seemed angry that I was there like I was standing in line for a handout. Another one of those situations where people who don't like dealing with the public should not have a job which requires dealing with the public.
