Disgraceful, Dishonest Customer Svc, & Management
BUYER BEWARE – MISLEADING RETURNS & POOR, LYING CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS
Review written 9 January 2026 regarding The Honeywell Store,
407 N. Quentin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067.
I’ve been a Honeywell customer since 2022, but this experience ended that relationship.
In late November 2025, I purchased humidifiers and accessories totaling $158.64. The items arrived without a box, wrapped only in blue plastic. In December, I realized I made an honest mistake and needed a dehumidifier instead. I contacted the company, the return was approved, and I was issued an RMA.
I spoke twice with a customer service rep named Nicole, who confirmed by phone that I would receive a full refund as long as the items were unopened (they were). She also confirmed I was responsible for return shipping, which I accepted.
I returned everything via FedEx Ground on 5 January 2026, insured, at a personal cost of ~$52. The package arrived 7 January. I sent photos showing careful packaging and proof of return—no one responded.
On 8 January, Nicole suddenly changed her story, stating my refund would be reduced by a 10–30% restocking fee, which was never disclosed before. She became argumentative, refused to check on the return, and contradicted her earlier statements.
I asked for a manager. She told me she was a manager. She isn't. I was transferred to John Cooke. I left multiple voicemails and emails over several days with their salesAThoneywellstore.com addressing him. Neither John nor someone named Dave has ever returned my calls or email. Every time I call, I’m told I’m “caller #1 in queue,” yet no one answers.
Although I was told refunds take 4–7 business days, a refund appeared pending on 8 January with an unexplained 18% deduction for Unopened, originally packaged Items!!! Crooks!
I removed $950 worth of Honeywell products from my cart due to this experience.
Inconsistent policies, atrocious communication, and misleading, lying people on their refund terms. This is in an eAccess building. Honeywell Headquarters will be contacted, BBB, and Honeywell should be reconsidering this location and its personnel.
