Disgraceful, Dishonest Customer Svc, & Management

BUYER BEWARE – MISLEADING RETURNS & POOR, LYING CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS
Review written 9 January 2026 regarding The Honeywell Store,
407 N. Quentin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067.
I’ve been a Honeywell customer since 2022, but this experience ended that relationship.
In late November 2025, I purchased humidifiers and accessories totaling $158.64. The items arrived without a box, wrapped only in blue plastic. In December, I realized I made an honest mistake and needed a dehumidifier instead. I contacted the company, the return was approved, and I was issued an RMA.
I spoke twice with a customer service rep named Nicole, who confirmed by phone that I would receive a full refund as long as the items were unopened (they were). She also confirmed I was responsible for return shipping, which I accepted.
I returned everything via FedEx Ground on 5 January 2026, insured, at a personal cost of ~$52. The package arrived 7 January. I sent photos showing careful packaging and proof of return—no one responded.
On 8 January, Nicole suddenly changed her story, stating my refund would be reduced by a 10–30% restocking fee, which was never disclosed before. She became argumentative, refused to check on the return, and contradicted her earlier statements.
I asked for a manager. She told me she was a manager. She isn't. I was transferred to John Cooke. I left multiple voicemails and emails over several days with their salesAThoneywellstore.com addressing him. Neither John nor someone named Dave has ever returned my calls or email. Every time I call, I’m told I’m “caller #1 in queue,” yet no one answers.
Although I was told refunds take 4–7 business days, a refund appeared pending on 8 January with an unexplained 18% deduction for Unopened, originally packaged Items!!! Crooks!
I removed $950 worth of Honeywell products from my cart due to this experience.
Inconsistent policies, atrocious communication, and misleading, lying people on their refund terms. This is in an eAccess building. Honeywell Headquarters will be contacted, BBB, and Honeywell should be reconsidering this location and its personnel.
Beware and Proceed with Caution!

The Honeywell Store is different than…

The Honeywell Store is different than Honeywell plugged in. They are much more expensive and DO NOT price match to Honeywell plugged in. I learned that the hard way. They even told me that Amazon uses their name illegally and I fell for it. Cost me almost $100.00 on the 5300. They refuse to return phone calls regarding the issue.

You are buying from a shady 3rd party…

You are buying from a shady 3rd party located in the Philippines. They will hang up on you. And the attorney general can not respond. I'll bet the parts are defective.

Company says too bad, When my order was never delivered

When my order was never delivered in December, I finally received this reply from the company in February:
“I have been trying to reconnect to FedEx, however, they have indicated that it was delivered to the mailroom. According to our delivery services as per our website, if the order shows it had been delivered we cannot reship an order.”

So basically, since FedEx delivered my order to a wrong address, I am out my order and my $….and Honeywell says, sorry nothing we can do for you.

Sad, and horrible customer service!

Charged 46 dollars for one tiny filter. no mention that they dont come in 2's. their air purifier needs 2. so now i have half the motor and fan exposed. pathetic. scam. absolutely livid at how corrupt this company is.

Disgraceful company.

Their online website is full of fake reviews, and if you try to post a legitimate review, it simply won't get posted.

Ordered the wrong part for my…

Ordered the wrong part for my humidifier and their customer service team was quick to update my order and ship out the correct part. No complaints here and it is nice to actually talk to a real person for once. Oh, and I appreciate them listening to an old crusty man about his problems, I will definitely be ordering from them again, thanks!

This company is an absolute disgrace.

This company is an absolute disgrace.
I have been waiting over 3 months for a replacement part, all I get is emails saying they are dealing with the issue.
The last email promised the part would be delivered on the 17/9/19, yet nothing arrived.
After Sales service with Honeywell is a complete joke.
I will never by a Honeywell product again.

Bad customer service

I ordered some air filters that were never delivered. The Honeywell store refused to either replace them or refund the money because, according to the store, the USPS was to blame. The store needs to stand behind its product and guarantee delivery.
