Dreadful experience from Howdens at the…

Dreadful experience from Howdens at the Salford branch again. Ordered a kitchen worth £5000, was delivered with several missing parts. Had to make at least 10 trips to Howdens to get the missing parts - lots of back and forth, including driving to other depots which only costs more fuel, and lost a day of productivity, and costed extra to pay the fitter. They were quick to take the order and process it but their after-sales service is shocking - it's clear there's no care for the customer, or providing good customer service, especially if you're spending over 5k. They said they would get back to me and see if they can compensate me, never heard anything from them. NEVER AGAIN!

Whistleblowing. I have held accounts with Howden…

I have held accounts with Howden joinery for many years I have been in the building trade for over 40 years but I need to speak out about a situation that’s being going on within the Hillsborogh Sheffield depot as I have seen my wife been slowly destroyed by a situation that’s been going on for a number of years particularly in view of recent events.Howden‘s as a company promote employees report any miss conduct by their colleagues (not worth the Paper it’s printed on)
In September 2018 my wife was signed off from work by the doctor due to work-related stress and anxiety this she had suffered for a number of years including bullying threatening sexual harassing comments made by clients and finally witnessing racial abuse of a senior member of management in her presence This she strongly objected to and asked that it stop immediately which a member of management turned to the others and said I “I can see we’re going to have to watch what we say in front of her “this was witnessed by a new female starter who Was stood at the side of my wife when this racial verbal abuse was taking place she refused to acknowledge this actually saying she needed to keep her job . On top of this she’s had threatening messages placed upon her car. A member of management pretending to shoot her in the back of the head all these events of allegedly been investigated by the company the people involved choose to say they do not recall or they will not comment I have watched for nearly 2 years this destroy my wife she's gone from a confident person to someone who can barely speak about these events without breaking down it has affected myself my children and all our family having to watch this happened to my wife because she is telling the truth she has even offered to take a lie detector test to prove she is telling the truth the final straw for me is she is now being asked to sign a terms and condition contract part of which is that she keeps things that have happened confidential So now I have felt compelled to talk about this matter being her husband I have a duty to her clearly Howden’s think they don’t.

We ordered a middle of the price…

We ordered a middle of the price kitchen from howdens . We went and paid in full a week before our fitter was coming to fit the kitchen . When it got delivered they delivered the wrong kitchen which was the Cheapest version of the one we ordered. Luckily our fitter who is top notch noticed this mistake and contacted the company who said NO they had delivered the one we ordered even though its quite clear on the order form and receipt that this was not the case . It took 2 hrs to sort THEIR mistake out , but then they tried to say we hadn't paid for the flooring even though once again on the invoice and receipt it stated paid in full . So to me it looks like it WASN'T a genuine mistake we obviously can't prove this but you can be sure we won't be using them again. We are just lucky we had a great fitter who was very good at his job and noticed what had happened and made sure they put it right . So in my opinion we won't be using this company again and if you are looking for a kitchen use someone else .......

No more Howdens for me

So... Howdens closed their depots on 24th March when there was no need to, presumably to pick up the government (taxpayer-)funded furlough payments, leaving loads of self-employed tradesmen totally stuffed and unable to keep working.Now they say they are re-opening and expect us all to be thankful and come flocking back. What's changed Howdens? If you thought you had to close on 24/3 why have you re-opened now because government advice is still exactly the same as it was then. Couldn't be because cash is getting bit tight and your suppliers are knocking on the door, could it? As far as I'm concerned Howdens can go jump. My local independent supplier has kept going throughout so that's where my future business will be going

Absolutely fantastic service from Alan Shepherd from waay up North who picked up my online enquiry. He was dealing with enquires from all over the country during lockdown. Despite us being based in Cornwall and him not benefiting from ‘the sale’ he produced the most amazing design plan for our project. Fingers crossed that the rest of the project goes as smoothly!

Great thanks to Gav bittel and Rich Owens @ Houghton le spring We love our kitchen and the service to get it was great too. Super helpful and friendly even though we had a small budget we still got exactly what we wanted - and more!
It was great to have the 3D images to imagine our new kitchen in the space as we were renovating and replacing the kitchen. Which made the experience even better.

Ordered kitchen from John manager at Howdens on Hillgate Stockport. Everything went perfectly and at a great price. Would defo use them again service second to none. Also the fitter Andy and his team were brilliant.

Very pleased with the service on choice and supply

Very pleased with the service on planning by Tom Hansford , choice available Colours, quality excellent etc. Pleased to accepting amendments, providing plans so you could check properly on the most effective amount of cabinets and appliances etc. They were more than happy to wait until we had the fitter who was self employed so had to wait 5 months as we knew how good his work was , Now finished look great.
Overall price was very acceptable including fitting . Most items delivered on the first day of work, other items followed as we had plenty of room to store, Had to chase for one item Neff gas hob to arrive when we wanted it. Excellent all round as the local dept in TOTTON Southampton was only a short distance from our home .

Great company to deal with, staff are very polite and are very kind. They are incredibly knowledgeable and efficient, I would highly recommend them. Well done the team at Devizes.

Thanks to the team at Howdens Amesbury

Before Christmas we fitted a Howdens Fairford kitchen, the cupboards and drawers are good quality and the kitchen looks lovely. We chose Howdens over other local stores as their units are a good price for the quality and we did not want to spend a fortune. I had been deliberating over the style and colour of the units and worktops for several months and paid several visits to their showroom in Amesbury. Sarah and her team were extremely helpful and patient letting us borrow doors and sample worktops to take home to view in situ. The staff in the Amesbury store are always happy and friendly and there was never any pressure to make a purchase. They quoted for several different layout options which we received promptly by email. Once ordered the units were delivered promptly by an extremely friendly delivery team, a damaged unit was exchanged the same day and we were able to return a couple of pieces we did not use for a refund. Many thanks to Sarah, James, Kerry and the rest of this hard working team, I love my new kitchen!

Units fine but appalling delivery and quality order control check.

Planning simple and straightforward but..
We had just partial delivery first time and then the second time.We put back installation.When fitting started it became clear we still had parts missing.The fitter and I visited Howdens depot at least three times a day to collect missing parts.Howdens did try and find missing parts.at least two cars were sent to Whitehaven for collection.The oven package was opened on the last day and the top deeply dented.This had to be replaced that day ..spent a fortune on fuel .The wall units were longer on the plan and different base unit found to meet the plan and line up eye level units.
Howdens staff did actually resolve issues..fitter very stoic but it must have added at least an extra day to fitting due to querying misdeliveries an design issues and negotiating immediate replacement.A bit if a nightmare.
Thank heavens for the fitter...without his perseverance not sure how we would have resolved.I spent most of my time collecting items and returning misdelivered three units.
In the end...kitchen does look and seem fine.Check the order and chase undelivered parts..this fitting could have been a disaster.At no time did I receive an apology or offer of compensation for the complete shambles and time I spent in the car to overcome their organisational failures

Horrible service and after care from Howdens Nottingham

Absolutely abhorrent service from Howdens in Arnold Nottingham, never seen anything like it. They completely messed up the design of our kitchen to the point where the designer had to be sacked as a result. The measurements were incorrect, we had multiple additional parts that had to be returned, parts that’s didn’t fit resulting in the kitchen having to be rearranged. Months down the line this has resulted in rework, additional work plus additional time and costs. The way Howdens has dealt with this is complete, total and utter nonchalance. Though they have admitted their designer was at fault, no compensation, goodwill gesture or even an apology has been offered, their defence is that too much time has passed and the designer is no longer with the company - completely unacceptable as whether he’s still with the company or not he was operating on their behalf at the time and did a shoddy job.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use Howdens unless you want poor design, absolutely appalling service and a complete lack of care if something goes wrong. I understand they engage with builders and tradesmen more so than end customers but whoever you engage with, customer experience is paramount, regardless. And the end customer has the deal with the effects of poor design and poor after care. Absolutely appalling service, you should be ashamed!

West Norwoods Howdens

I am contractor and when a client chooses a Howdens Kitchen it fills me with joy, because I uses the West Norwood branch and I know that if there are any problems all I have to do is make a phone call or pop in and the problem will be sorted.
Unlike having to deal with the likes of Ikea or B + Q

I had a kitchen designed by mateo at…

I had a kitchen designed by mateo at the Brigg branch,it was exactly what we wanted,the design worked brilliantly and it's been installed and looks exactly how it was designed with no hassle at all. Myself and my wife would highly recommend howdens and especially the brigg branch, mateo was amazing and thank you so much it will make our Christmas.
