Our stay at Vertigo Palace in Jelsa, Hvar was made absolutely extraordinary thanks to Elisha. She went above and beyond to ensure every moment of our trip was perfect.

Elisha was instrumental in crafting our itinerary, offering insightful recommendations on what activities to prioritize and which to skip, tailored perfectly to our group's preferences. We really had some unforgettable experiences.

What truly meant a lot was Elisha's attention to detail and unwavering support throughout our stay. Not only did she meticulously coordinate travel plans for 9 people arriving at different times with various needs, she made everything seamless for our group and was also incredibly responsive and helpful on a daily basis.

Before arriving in Hvar for our stay at Vertigo Palace, my fiance proposed to me in Dubrovnik before meeting with our friends in Hvar. In a heartfelt gesture that added an unforgettable touch to our trip, Elisha crafted extremely thoughtful gifts for us in our villa bedroom. This gesture was not something she had to do and it encapsulates her dedication to making our experience truly special and memorable.

Overall, Elisha's professionalism and personal touches made our stay at Vertigo Palace a week to remember. We traveled to many different locations in Croatia but Hvar was by far our favorite and mainly thanks to Hvar Away and their amazing customer service. First off Elisha was absolutely incredible to work with. She went above and beyond to ensure that my family and friends stay on Hvar was nothing short of amazing. She answered every email I sent prior to our trip promptly and with great detail, I could tell she was putting a lot of care and time in to her responses and recommendations. She helped to coordinate a boat day during our stay as well as many restaurant recommendations which were all fabulous. Alavia being our absolute favorite restaurant experience of the trip. Our time on Hvar island though short was made very special by all of Elisha's recommendations and attentiveness to making sure our stay was nothing short of perfection. Our stay in Vertigo palace was also a dream. It felt like the most incredible and unique hidden oasis right on the doorsteps of Jelsa. Elisha was a joy to work with! The booking process was made so easy and she helped arrange yoga mats and a massage table for our retreat, all was waiting for us upon arrival. The villa itself was a DREAM! The perfect place for a yoga retreat. Waking up to the birds, the magical courtyard, the quaint pools, and views from each bedroom were out of this world. We found La Villa Bleue, the villa of our dreams for our summer vacation, at the best price on Hvar Away’s website. Everything went perfectly… from being greeted with Matt’s big smile when we arrived right through to the end of our week in paradise. The house itself was just stunning… you cannot believe the location until you experience it. We have already booked another beachfront villa with Hvar Away for next summer! I am very happy with the works performed by Matt. I needed to renovate a wooden pergola in the garden and he showed some great professionalism: answered my request instantly, came to visit the house and made some constructive recommendations, sent me a quote, came on time on the agreed date, did all the works fast and left the place very clean.
It was a pleasure working with someone as professional and reliable.
We have already agreed on some plumbing works in the near future!

Everything about Matt screams “professional” and he clearly strives to offer an exceptionally high level of service to his customers. He visited our house to inspect our AC, gave us a detailed quotation, offered a prompt appointment to service and clean all units, arrived on time, did a thorough job and left a few hours later and you’d hardly know he had been there.
We would definitely recommend him!

Matt recently planned out and installed a pretty complex airconditioning system in our old stone house. We are delighted with the work. Neat with minimal disturbance, and he tidied and cleaned afterwards so there were no traces of the work. Highly recommended! Will use Matt and Hvaraway again!

Matt has visited our house twice this summer to carry out electrical work- installing new sockets, lights, and solving some problems that a previous electrician caused. Ultra reliable. Can’t recommend highly enough.

One of the best companies on the island . Matt came on time , did excellent job ( air conditioner, tiles in the bathroom, stone / cement in the garden ,repairing locks ..) and left everything clean behind . We already have appointment for when I come back .

Matt was a pleasure to have working on my bathroom renovation. His ability to provide expert finish and with a very professional attitude towards the clients needs. I was also really impressed with his problem solving and he went all the way to make sure i was happy with the result, even it wasn't the quickest and easiest option for him. Cheerful and friendly. I can not begin to explain the difference it has made finding this service and the man behind it all -Matt .
I’d almost given up trying to get anybody to do anything on this island it’s been so difficult, so many let downs and disappointments!!! Then a friend put me in touch with the lady at Hvar Away - Elisha - wow an immediate response phone call… then zap an email with links to their website and all their services … I was stunned it all looked incredibly professional! … and low and behold a year later … I can tell you it is! - hooray from the roof tops.
After setting out what I needed “ The Man” arrived I say man; Matt is more like Arnold Swazenegger The terminator “Don’t worry I’ll be back” -
I don’t think there is anything he can’t do. He jet washed of years of grime and algae off my terrace, 50 m2 of stone slabbing, hand crafted a beautiful wooden pergola, table and seating, installed all the outside ambient lighting, he just keeps on going a one man machine !
I’ve now left them in charge of the monthly care and maintaince of the property, whenever I’m not there I no longer have to worry or even think about it, he just does everything from Aircon installation & maintenance to checking everything is safe secure and working down to the last tap, door lock and light bulb. When I return it’s all working clean and tip top. I almost don’t want to share Matt & Elisha with anybody else .. but that would not be fair ! I recommend you give them a call, sit back, relax and enjoy your free time 👍😁🙏

We have been on Hvar Away's property care program for over 18 months, including pool maintenance. Matt has also carried out numerous repair works identified from the property care visits, including: rewiring main fuse breakers/sockets as a result of burned main cable in our absence, replacing the boiler, air conditioning installation & servicing, chimney cleaning, roof repairs/broken tiles.

In all circumstances, the service has been exceptional and what feels like life-saving on an island where reliability is often questionable. Matt’s ability is second to none, and his knowledge and quality of work gives us confidence that things are being done to a high level of quality. He has often made his schedule work to help fix urgent issues and always turns up when he says he will.

There is nobody else on the island in our experience who can provide this level of service, communication and professionalism.

We would have been lost with all of our projects in our new-but-old Hvar home without Matt and Elisha! As other reviews make clear, Matt and Elisha are super-professional and responsible, pro-active and creative in a wide variety of "home solutions". Matt has installed half of a new kitchen for us, including a dishwasher; cleaned the roof and unblocked gutters; put in new air conditioning units (in the nick of time during this year's later summer heatwave!); poured concrete to make our garage more usable; and various other tasks that were beyond our own capabilities. And each task has been executed in a fully pre-costed and transparent manner, which is rarely the case with others here on Hvar...
We hate to think where we might be without this exceptional couple running Hvar Away, who are also highly friendly and personable as well! Bottom line is there is probably no home-related task that we would hesitate to ask them to carry out for us. A five-star rating in not only merited, but perhaps too low ;-)

We can full heartedly recommend Hvar Away. From the first meeting at our holiday home, Elisha and Matt came across as professional and dedicated. They had clearly done their research and knew the holiday home market on the island. They spent time really getting to know us and our ideas.

The most valuable aspect for us is Elisha and Matt’s reliability. They are available, proactive, and think ahead of issues you may have not thought about yourself – and whenever problems do arise, they provide a menu of solutions to choose from. The invoicing and record keeping is also impeccable and transparent.

Elisha and Matt’s professionalism and reliability is outstanding, and their offer of services was more comprehensive than what we saw elsewhere. They are also very friendly and easy to work with. We have no regrets choosing them as our business partners. When we are snowed under in our everyday life, we know that things are taken care of in Croatia and we don't need to chase anybody. This is invaluable!
