Total scam
Total scam. Make it seem like you are paying for membership through PayPal, but what really happens is they get their hands on your credit card detail and debit your bank account to THEIR PayPal account each month.
The only way I could stop the payments was by cancelling my credit card. PayPal gave zero response to my complaint.
They tell me they've canceled my subscription but keep charging me
Don't subscribe to this company if you ever think you might want to stop. I told them on July 23, 2025 that I wanted to cancel my subscription. On July 24, they replied, "We have sent a cancellation request." On August 7, before my next billing date, I wrote, "Please confirm with me that the cancellation has gone through and I will not be charged again." They replied on 8/8, "Your cancellation was already processed." However, they still charged me on 8/23. I wrote demanding a refund. They replied that a refund request was submitted. It's now 9/25 and they have charged me AGAIN, and STILL not refunded my August charge. So they send nice emails but they DO NOTHING. Since I don't use PayPal, I used my debit card for the subscription. It may have gone more smoothly if I had used PayPal because you're supposed to cancel your subscription within PayPal. But since I didn't use PayPal, there was no subscription there, which is why I had to contact them separately.
As for the newsletter itself, it's basically a curated job list. The usefulness of what is provided is variable.
They are scammers!
Scam
Absolute scam and a company full of liars.
I let it go the first time they tried to scam me back in 2019, but I regret not adding my voice to the others that are warning people off this utter sham of a "business". They have recently started posting job/project listings under false names, obviously because the word is getting out about them and "ruining" their scam. When I got a response regarding the project I'd applied for and saw the IAPWE email address, I knew I had to join the warnings. They now tried to con me by promising me $10/word! It was an utter nightmare to try and get rid of my account in 2019, when I fell for their lies due to a dire need for work. It is disgusting that these liars, cheaters, scammers, and frauds are still operating. Some with the ability needs to put them out of business.
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.
SCAM ALERT: Avoid IAPWE at All Costs
It's clear that they're more interested in SCAMMING people who are desperate for work than providing a legitimate service. The lack of updates on their website is telling - the last article was published in 2024. Their claims of being able to cancel your subscription at any time are completely false. Not only do they fail to send a confirmation email, but their cancellation form is also useless. When you try to contact them via email, they'll promise to cancel your subscription, but don't follow through. I had to contact PayPal directly to cancel my subscription, and even then, IAPWE tried to reactivate it without my consent. Do not waste your time or money on this organization. Avoid them at all costs.
DO.NOT.SIGN.UP!
Whatever you do, don't sign up for a paid membership with these people. Not full price, not half price, nothing. When you realise that you haven't got any use for it and want to get out, you are lucky if they answer and when they do, they are very friendly and you think that finally, now, somebody will make this happen. But it doesn't. The company has now tried to charge me 5USD per month. I am writing this on the 25th of April 2025 and the first time they promised to delete the account was on August 1, 2024. I still don't have any word. :(
I Trust The Reviewers
Thankfully, I don't have any direct experience with this company, but they didn't pass the sniff test when I saw all of their "job openings" on Craigslist. I thought it was strange that every one of their listings paid exactly the same amount, and that there was no reference as to who the ultimate client was.
When the needle on my BS detector started to twitch, I googled "iapwe scam." As you can see from the other reviews, the news is 100 percent bad, and not just on this site. Thanks, and condolences to all of you who fell victim before I did and reported your experiences here.

Note, this is not the first time to receive such. And it's true, the link leads you to a registration form, even if you're already signed up for an IAPWE account (and you need to pay to access paid features, which I doubt really translate to anything.)
Steer clear!
Job Offer Beware!
Like many, many others, I too got scammed from this horrible organization! I was offered a job thinking I would actually be starting my writing career only to be devastated! I don’t know how they get away with the way they conduct business?? I should have did my homework and researched them.
Scam scam scam
Scam scam scam. Forges non-existent email applications (complete with date and time) then tells you you'll get paid $10 per 100 words - just click the general register link to submit a short form. Can someone report these people to the police?
Scam Alert
I received an email from IPAWE and everything seemed legit until I tried to login where it was mendatory to purchase a membership, even if it's free. There I got a chill in spine and I opted to check the website on scamadviser.com which directed me to trust pilot as well. Both the websites were showing suspicious rating and lastly the reviews confirmed that this is a SCAM!
It's a huge scam
It's a huge scam. Don't fall for it. Always Google before deciding to pay for a "membership" on these kinds of platforms. They initially make it seem like they're offering you a job, but then they direct you to a portal where they sell you a good for nothing membership—one that appears to be a major hassle to cancel. A lot of people have fallen for this SCAM.
an obvious scam company
an obvious scam company. i received an "application status" email telling me i'd got a position that i hadn't even applied for 😂 they then encourage you to click on a link to "create your account", which is probably where they ask for your paypal.
I cancelled my account through PayPal
I cancelled my account through PayPal. I started an assignment, but after reviewing the company on Trustpilot.com I could see that it was a scammer. all the reviews were one star and a bunch of major complaints. I called PayPal back to make sure they were blocked them from my account. PayPal is investigating them and is not going to let them operate.
WHAT THE HELL NEW SCAMMER THET JUST…
WHAT THE HELL NEW SCAMMER THET JUST MAKING FOOL INNOCENT PEOPLE AND MAKING MONEY I HAD RECIVED SAME EMAIL BECAREFULE GUYS...
Thank you
Thank you, guys, from Trustpilot and YouTube. I just got their email and I got to know how they scam. I saved from this fake organization.
Be careful guys, fake trap
Be careful guys, bad and wrong website, they don't send any payment, and fake basic membership, fake fake fake fake fake.
We should act smart when going for an online work opportunity.
Thank you so much everyone for sharing your valuable reviews. And many thanks to Trustpilot for providing us utility with this reliable platform. I received two similar emails from iapwe.org, last night. Individuals like myself, who usually looking for multiple work opportunities are perhaps more vulnerable to getting trapped. I want to highlight their bound offer for membership which is a paid membership’s free trial, although I already chose a free basic membership while filling out an online form, and In this case, it shouldn’t be obligatory.
Incorrect and deceptive information was…
Incorrect and deceptive information was provided to me by a representative of this organization. Do not sign up, they will tell you their services are "free" and then you'll be immediately linked to a recurring monthly payment with Paypal upon sign up. The process for cancelling this also requires a separate form and confirmation process.
