And then it became politicised

And then it got taken over by the “tolerant” left who are so tolerant they’ll now flock on every dissenting opinion and mock it till its dead (mockery being the only response they know, since reason isn’t taught in schools anymore I guess)

Imgur: I hope you get replaced sooner rather than later, but we all know you leftist scum sleep in the same bed so that won’t happen, the same leftist cancer that is reddit only works with tech giants who adopt the same philosophy so it really shouldn’t surprise anyone that these too, among many others, are sleeping together.

If an emp were to take out twitter, youtube, and all the other giants steering humanity towards rapid self/destruction, I wouldn’t mind if it took the whole internet with it.

I've been on imgur since 2012. I've gone through all of the 'scandals' that imgur has endured since then. I stuck with the site and the community for many years during its many evolutions and hardships. Sadly, it is not the site it once was. It has become a heavily politicized site that has gotten out of control. It's as if users are paid to create, post and upvote political content. There are many users who didn't exist 9 months ago, that have high 'point karma' and all they post is political stuff. Anyway, it's not fun any more. I have cancelled my account.

Remember when imgur was a fun site where you could spend a hot minute browsing funny pictures and memes? Well not anymore. Imgur has become an unbearable cesspool of politics and covid19 garbage where you have to really dig deep to find anything funny. Also their mobile app is a mess

Not a good place to post artwork. Even if your art is well drawn it has to fit a certain box or it will get downvoted. I posted some flower and animal art and it was downvoted. Not a single upvote.

Far left platform quick to cancel anyone with a voice that opposes them. I got a strike for calling someone a r-tard after they called me a trumptard, so that's cool. Got a second strike after I linked the CDC website with proof that the COVID-19 death numbers in the US were grossly exaggerated.
I asked both times why I got the strikes and nobody replied.

This platform is full of anti right propoganda and anything anti left is removed within minutes. The comment sections are full of hate speech for anyone that leans to the right, even a little. and the moderators are okay with people verbally abusing others so long as it's someone on the right getting the abuse.

Up and down votes seem almost manufactured as well seeing the far left posts are shot to the front page minutes after posting and anything not left aligned is down voted into extinction.

It's clear the people that run the sight are a bunch of far left crybabies that throw a power trip when someone say's something they don't like.

Imgur used to be simple image hosting website in the past, but later they transformed into pro left wing, anti-right wing and anti-Trump social media. It's an echo chamber of leftists now. You will see a lot of political, toxic, hate speech content there, especially anti-right wing. It's infested with anti-Trump posts. I've seen comments like this (about president Trump) on Imgur:

"Why is he still alive. Dude needs to just exit this existence, him and his sheep. The world would genuinely be a safer place without them."

"That's it, he has to die. Treason is still a death sentence, right?"

"It is a real shame the b**tard did not die. He deserves to be dead for what he has done to our country."

"He needs to die".

I'm shocked how such comments are allowed there. People are openly expressing their deathwish for the president and moderation allows it. Unbelievable!

They delete posts without giving a reason. This tells me that they're not welcoming floks and using this is a waste of time.

The community and moderators have become openly hostile toward anyone who doesn't share their common opinions. Any attempt at discussing issues is met with typical hard left talking points and any responding comments are deleted/shadow banned. There are no standards for what is and is not allowed - I have literally said "I don't agree" and the comment was deleted. Threats against opposing politicians and other public figures are open and celebrated. The community has become an extremely toxic echo chamber. If you are moderate, classical liberal, or right leaning politically, you will either be silent or they will force you to be silence.

Imgur deletes comments arbitrarily. Just whatever they don't "like". The company does not seem to have either a solid policy about what their moderators (and paid team members to repost items for profit that does not belong to them) and/or either allows them too much latitude in decision-making. They can't stand being called-out on their lies and questionable business practices. They are cowards.

48 hours later I receive calls from sales representatives who barely speak my language. It's a shame (I would like to point out that my phone line is one month old and I didn't have any canvassers before this registration).

The site is good but the community is the worst.

My comment was deleted for no reason. My crime: mentioning that a person in a video looked like Jackie Chan. He did and other users mentioned it too but did not get their comments deleted. I contacted imgur support but they only sent me automated messages without reading my my messages.

I think their AI just deletes anything that could touch on subjects that might be racist if you're a new user. They carpet bomb the new users with deletions and bans no matter the context, as a cost saving measure instead of using moderators to check and see if there in fact was a guidelines violation.

Imgur: A image hosting site, which has become politically partisan and attritional in its moderation and user voting patterns. The net result of this is that rational discussions become self-censored and certain idiologies (especially far left) become acceptable, loud, obnoxious, hostile, even more extreme and sympathetic to openly violent activism. Not my cup of tea personally. I left when images of people being beaten with baseball bats in public were being celebrated.
