Happy Customer

Flew down from Scotland to buy a car from Imperials. Jake and his colleague James, who handled the sale, were great. The car was exactly as described online and matched the photos I'd seen too, no suprises. The car drives beautifully, it didn't miss a beat on the 550 mile drive home. Very happy with the car and the team at Imperials.

It’s a breath of fresh air to walk in a…

It’s a breath of fresh air to walk in a show room with such a genuine nice group of people. I visited imperials on a pure passing by situation and was instantly impressed with everything. After being introduced to Jake his professionalism in knowing everything I asked about the car and a genuine care for the customer , I was so confident in the car and the company I instantly decided to purchase .
This is my first purchase and will definitely be my future supplier of many more cars to come.

Excellent service

Found a BMW X5 M50i on autotrader at Imperials and sent them an email to enquire about the car and if they were interested in my part-ex. Daniel called me within about half hour and answered all my questions and said he would come back to me with a price on mine. Within an hour or so I had all the figures I needed and the deal was done. Daniel stayed in contact by WhatsApp and email with the docs I needed to sign and to update with progress. Fast forward 3 days and I have just collected my new car. Service was excellent and probably the easiest car purchase I've experienced.

Very helpful and easy buying process

Jim was very helpful and answered all my queries on the car. He kept me well informed throughout the whole buying process. I would have no hesitation in recommending him and would definitely buy from them again in the future.

I bought a BMW X5 from Imperials…

I bought a BMW X5 from Imperials Carriages in February 2024. Within minutes of leaving, the engine warning light came on. That should have been my first warning sign. Over the next year I was met with constant excuses, delays and outright lies.

They sent me to GS Car Care for repairs. I attended on 18 June 2024, confirmed by BMW Connected Drive logs and GS Car Care themselves. The only other date, 11 September, was cancelled after I phoned them and they told me no parts were in and it would just be another scan. Despite knowing this, Imperials have tried to twist it into me not showing up.

They said parts were ordered and paid for but never showed any receipts, order confirmations or even told me which parts. The only evidence is an email dated 11 September saying they would order parts that day. I was never told about any further booking.

They claimed my finance company decided I was at fault. My finance company confirmed in writing that was untrue and that the matter was still under review.

Seven months after purchase the brake discs warped. BMW confirmed a manufacturing defect, but Imperials blamed my driving and refused to contribute to the £1,000+ repair bill.

The fault was described as an oxygen sensor issue from day one. Now they suddenly call it a NOx sensor fault. The February 2025 MOT fail was for the same MIL fault that was present the day I collected the vehicle.

They ignore emails, twist facts and do everything possible to avoid taking responsibility once they have your money.

Be very careful what you sign with them. From my experience and from reading other reviews, they use documents that can override your normal protections and then threaten you with paying their legal costs to scare you into dropping your complaint.

I’ll be interested to see what lies they come out with when they inevitably try to respond to this review. Just read the others, not too different from mine, seems they clear codes before you pick the vehicles up.

If you value honesty or customer care, stay away from this dealership.

UPDATE: Look at the response 😂😂😂😂 liessss just as expected.

No one independently assessed it and said it was down to usage and driving style, we are a family with young children what do you think we are doing? Taking it track days 🤣 avoid these blaggers the only thing they know how to do is lie and they’re not even good at that.

Oh in response to motonovo they’re aware you lied on an official court document saying the dealer wasn’t at fault when they hadn’t even reviewed the case. 😐

We are disappointed to read this review, as the facts have been presented incorrectly.
This vehicle was inspected by independent specialists, and the issues raised were dealt with promptly and in line with our obligations. Bookings were offered for further work, but not all appointments arranged were attended which delayed matters.
With regard to the brakes, this was not a manufacturing defect as claimed. Independent assessment confirmed the wear was consistent with driving style and usage, not a fault with the vehicle. As such, the cost of replacement was the customer's responsibility.
Your finance company, MotoNovo, has also reviewed this matter in full and agreed that Imperials are not responsible. Their independent decision confirms that we acted properly throughout.
We always aim to provide clear communication and support, but we cannot accept responsibility for issues that are as a result of usage.

James was fantastic to deal with.…

Dealt with James on the purchase of a Land rover Defender. Due to being a fair distance away first contact was by phone. Given an honest appraisal of the vehicle and James then sent videos of the vehicle personalised to me so I could see it before travelling. Updated on progress at every step. Service when we arrived was fantastic, vehicle was exactly as described.
James was fantastic to deal with and would thoroughly recommend him and Imperials.
