Great gym with alot of equipment but really disappointing the changing rooms doesn't have 24 hour access, I train early morning or late in the evening so there always locked for me. You need a shower... Voir plus

If you come back a second time in the same day, please press the green buzzer button near the gates and someone will let you in. The app does only grant entry once per day, but you're welcome to come back as many times as you like, we'll just need to let you in. 👍

I have been attending this gym for the…
I have been attending this gym for the last 8 years. The transformation to JD Gyms made it a better gym than the previous one with really good equipment. The layout is very good and plenty of space and the gym floor is always clean which is great because they have a small team within such a large gym. I always feel confident to train and the staff have also given me advice.

Absolutely dire
Absolutely dire. Sure, its 24/7 and the gym is large, but it doesnt change the fact that everything else about this gym is terrible
Heres what I noticed after 2 years at that place :
.Air-Con doesnt work during the summer, and they never fix it. Nobody wants to exercise in a hot and sweaty environment
.They removed the wipes/spray to clean equipment before use by yourself, and that is unsanitary and just a big red flag
.The showers are disgusting, which is no surprise.
.Most of the equipment are outdated and they are often broken
.The bathrooms are often a mess and is sometimes never cleaned, and of course there is often no toilet paper
.There are constantly weights missing and its not like the staff care about it. People dont even have the common sense put the weights back, and one time I found a 16kg dumbell lying on the TREADMILL
.The staff doesnt do their job most of the time, and they probably just sit around in the staff rooms on their phones all day
.The gym is overcrowded 7 days a week
.There are always going to be those posers filming you and themselves, literally invading your privacy
.The roof/pipes are often leaking and they never fix it
.The wifi is crap and often doesnt work. I spoke to them about it and they just shrugged it off and didnt give a sh*t
.Classes are cancelled at least 7 times out of 10. There is no point scheduling classes when they never even run
Seriously, they can afford to make the gym 24/7 and have a new office, but they wont put a penny towards things we NEED, like air con and cleaning wipes
And worst of all, they had the audacity to increase the monthly membership price to £25, which is a rip-off, considering there are other gyms that cost less, are more cleaner and are genuinely much better. Waste of time and money, do not go there

Best gym I've ever experienced as a uni student
As soon as I entered at 7pm, JD staff were really helpful. Their telephone line works even til late, i couldn't get in and phoned them. There is a green button you can press for assistance. They answered my Qs about where I could store my things, showed me the vending machines, where to go for the classes. Before I left, they asked if everything was okay. I also made a new friend on that day itself :) The classes are so good! You will get fit after them. Best decision I ever made. I feel really cool being at JD gym.

Well managed and organized but only problem is that alot of people are there but the machines so less that evrryone have to be in line to get his turn :)

It’s good that there is a ladies only section, however it is very small area in a very large building, would be good to have a bigger space for the ladies only.

Hello Sabina, thanks for leaving a review! I'm really pleased to hear that you are using and enjoying the ladies only section at our Nottingham gym. We do our best to provide for all types of members and each part of the gym is sized proportionally to the overall demand. We don't actually have ladies only sections at all locations, but in parts of the country where there is greater call for this due to religious or cultural reasons, we do tend to put them in. As I'm sure you can appreciate, as a percentage of our whole member base, those requiring the privacy of a separate section is quite small. Almost all our female members make use of the main gym and the full range of facilities on offer. Perhaps there is something we could do to help you make use of the wider gym so that you're not feeling confined by the smaller space? You could look at speaking with a Personal Trainer... they would be a great person to discuss that with. If it's an issue with the equipment available in the ladies only section, you are welcome to take in extra items, e.g. heavier dumbbells, if you'd like to or raise this to a member of staff the next time you visit.
