I had been studying John Maxwell's books for ten years before I joined The John Maxwell Team. Now, I get to learn from him live! The rate of my growth since becoming a certified Coach, Speaker and Teacher has been exponential. Not only am I living into my potential, I am well prepared to lead others to a greater understanding of leadership and a life of reaching their potential also.

Has the JMT lost sight of its mission?
Sadly, it seems as the mission is more about building checkbooks than serving others. It is heartbreaking. I really believed that this was different and yet greed seems to have outweighed service.
It has become more about pay to play.
We are taught to "avoid the shiny object" syndrome however at each turn we are being asked to spend more to get more.
We are taught "we are enough" yet in order to be enough we are to buy another class or program or position.
Access to certain "privileges" is purchased and then the bar is raised so more money is required to obtain the same access.
The leadership team is changing without sufficient explanation. We build a relationship with someone and then they are gone. Is this also a money thing? Are other "leaders" being brought in at half the price?
Finally, the leadership does not reflect the demographics of the group. Women are over represented in support roles and not in leadership positions even though the demographics of the group are likely to be a 50/50 split male to female. A classic patriarchal organization. Another disappointing fact about the JMT.
On the bright side, I have met some of the most amazing people in my life. Highly motivated to change the world. For me, the greatest value has been the people I've met and the impact they are having.
John C. Maxwell is one of the most amazing men I know. An outstanding leader, story teller and speaker. Is this the legacy he wants to leave?

Having been involved in personal development and growth for the past 25+ years, when I joined the John Maxwell Team, it all came together for me. The weekly teachings are invaluable to attend, if one is really serious about building their business. This is not a company that promises you millions and success overnight, this is a company where you learn to build your business and entrepreneurial life from the very ground up. The business model is proven and it works. My lane is the coaching lane and I have been equipped with the tools and resources to be a successful coach. If anybody is considering becoming a coach, THIS is the company to get certified with.
The same is true for the tools and resources if you want to become a Speaker. There are many companies and organisations out there that teach you how to speak, but the John Maxwell Team also teaches you HOW to set up your business as a speaker.

The John Maxwell Team has accelerated my growth and development as a leader like nothing I have done before. The faculty mentors and fellow team members have helped me to increase my self-awareness, get intentional about my growth as a leader and have better equipped me to make a difference with others. My only regret is that there was no John Maxwell Team 30 years ago!

I joined the JMT at the absolute start of the journey. There are many aspects of the system that have been of value -- treat the JMT as putting on the oxygen mask on yourself before you lead anybody else. We learnt as we grew. And often we were the guinea pigs for what was being developed.

To make the JMT even better, we need to teach people how to find their own voice and to empower people in the 'regions' (i.e. outside of the North Americas) to have a more localised representation with an ICM for their region.
