Honestly, before arriving to UNC I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't fit in but throughout the week I made friends and had a close community with the girls in my track. I'm really grateful for them and the counselors ( Brooke and Lauren). They gave great advice and seemed really happy at UNC. During the morning lectures I learned a lot about med school and the process from current med students. I do wish the phone rule wasn't so strict. I saw some of my friends from Project Uplift PLUS and other camps there with it taking pictures and I felt I missed good picture opportunities and to document my time during camp.

As a parent, I can confidently say that Columbia’s Summer Camp was the most exciting and enriching experience my son has ever had. The Outset team struck the perfect balance between learning and fun—he came home inspired, motivated, and already eager to return. In fact, he was so impressed that he personally reached out to the Outset CEO to ask about a Winter Camp opportunity!

Thank you for creating such a meaningful experience for our family. We’re already looking forward to seeing you again in 2026.

It was so fun and everyone there was so nice. I loved living on the campus and it really let me explore the field of medicine. I would recommend this camp to someone who doesn’t mind being active most of the day because there are only minimal breaks. However if you go you will make the best memories and want to go back the next summer

Our daughter just recently went to the program that was held at The University of Vanderbilt and when we went to pick her up she didn't want to leave. She loved all the staff and all of the activities that she got to do. She had a great time and wants to go back again next year.

Our daughter attended Outset at the UNC Chapel Hill campus which is where she is hoping to go to college. The program was fun, educational and very well organized. The counselors were great as well. The best part is that she got to connect with kids that have similar goals and will keep in touch. I definitely recommend Outset for any student wanting to go into the medical field.

My daughter (14) attended the Outset Medical Camp and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The other kids were so welcoming and supportive, which made the whole environment feel encouraging and fun. She especially loved how inspiring the lectures were—hearing firsthand stories from professionals in the medical field really opened her eyes to the many paths within medicine. But the highlight for her was definitely the afternoon simulations. They were incredibly hands-on and gave her a true sense of what it’s like to be a doctor. She came home every day excited, motivated, and more passionate than ever about pursuing a career in healthcare. We’re so grateful for this opportunity!

Great experience at UNC chapel hill and met great people!!

My daughter went to the inaugural year at University of Michigan and absolutely loved the camp! She is already asking to go back next year!

Very great way to get the experience and feel of what college will be like and if the college is a fit for you. There was limited freedom but overall it was very fun and a good way to get insights on the student life on a college campus while also learning about what I would want to major in.

My son felt welcomed since the beginning. All activities were engaging and helped him a general understanding behind commitment and knowledge of what medicine entails. He told us he had a really good time and is interested in moving forward in a career in medicine.

I attended the UNC-Chapel Hill Outset General Surgery program, and it was great. The morning lessons were so helpful for understanding what undergrad and med school looks like and I got to meet some amazing people. My counselor Amia was absolutely amazing, and the afternoon activities were so much fun!

My rising sophomore loved her experience at UNC. She made a lot of friends and enjoyed the hands on experiences in the medical field. She did the general surgery program but came back thinking she might want to be a PA. I was impressed by all the things she learned. Plus she got to experience life as a college student so she learned some responsibility and life skills! Just an overall awesome experience!!

My rising junior loved her experience with Outset at Vanderbilt. She made new friends and gained insight on starting her medical journey. I believe this camp is a great asset to any student thinking of a career in the medical field.
As a parent I felt she was safe and well taken care of.

Hands on learning, fun activities, useful simulations

For starters, my experience there was amazing! I loved it so much, it made me want to go to med school there! Everything about the program was quite awesome and I learned so much! All the counselors there were so kind!! I would 100% go back!

The Outset Pre-Med Camp at Vanderbilt was an incredible experience. I learned real medical skills like suturing and using ultrasounds, and a surgeon even praised my technique. I made amazing friends, and the instructors were supportive and inspiring. I left more confident, motivated, and sure of my path to becoming a doctor. I highly recommend it!

This camp was one of the best places i've been to, meeting with physicians and medical professionals really inspired me and gave me ideas about what i'd like to do in the future. The program was great at showing you all the options that you can take in a medical field and they gave me so many more ideas to how I can achieve my goals in medical field. I enjoyer it very much and i'm so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of this program.

Well-organized, with several virtual "prep" meetings and other materials that make everything run smoothly. Plenty of opportunities to ask questions. My son had a great week and arrived home with good general knowledge about the medical field. He also met some new friends and got to spend time on a campus that he's considering attending.

This teen pre-med summer program exceeded our expectations. My daughter came home more inspired than ever to pursue a career in medicine. She had a fantastic time surrounded by passionate people, engaging in fun, hands-on educational activities that made learning exciting and memorable. An incredible experience that truly sparked her curiosity for the medical field.
