Their online support is so bad I had to find another provider for my dog’s renal diet needs. They don’t try to help, they tell you what you did wrong and how much more your subscription will cost. Kendall R will not help, he just wants me to waste my time with him so I spend 10% more. He probably gets commission on the up charge.

I would not recommend ordering from this company based on my recent experience with their customer service and return policy. My dog is currently on a veterinarian recommended diet, so I have not been able to use the DIY kits or algae oil I purchased. I also missed the window to cancel my auto-ship order for the algae oil. I contacted customer service in advance to ask if I could return the unopened item once it arrived, and was told that returns are not accepted and that I should consider donating it instead. While I understand the limitations around returning certain pet food products, I was hoping for more flexibility given that the item is unused and still sealed…it is a sealed bottle of algae oil, not perishable dog food. Additionally, the $20 shipping cost for a small bottle feels excessive. Overall, this experience has been disappointing, and I would not feel comfortable recommending this company to others based on my experience. There are other pet food companies that offer more customer friendly policies and support.

I’ve been a long‑time customer and recently ordered one of JustFoodForDogs’ new products. Before purchasing, I specifically asked whether they would honor a refund if our pups didn’t like it — especially since it was a brand‑new formula. I was told yes, even though we had ordered and been refunded for a different item in the past.

Unfortunately, when our dogs didn’t like the new formula and I reached out, they refused to honor the refund they had previously promised. It was frustrating to be told one thing before ordering and then something completely different afterward.

The food itself is usually great, but customer service matters just as much. If a company gives their word, they should stand by it. This experience left me disappointed and questioning whether I can trust future commitments from them

I have a subscription to my house that comes regularly, but I ordered once to go to my mom's house while she was watching my dog since I was out of town. I did NOT select auto - ship subscription on that order since it was just a one-time thing. They auto shipped another shipment to my mom's house 2 weeks later without my consent. I called and they said there's nothing that can be done and no refunds given. Now my mom's freezer is full of dog food, and she has no dogs, so I told her to donate it since she lives far away and I won't see her for a few months. Also, this company has sent me two orders on accident...things I would never order for my dogs. They have terrible rude customer service and I am switching brands.

Consumer Warning for Pet Parents: JFFD changed their Joint & Skin Support formula without notice or updated labeling, and they still don’t provide an updated Typical Nutrient Analysis. After feeding a small amount, both my dogs had clinically significant reactions that resolved completely when the food was stopped. Customer service is beyond disappointing. Rather than addressing safety or transparency, they offer nothing but delays and attempts to push customers toward even more expensive custom diets. Looking at their reviews, issues like this, and problems with reliability and consistency, are recurring with JFFD. Fortunately, I found safer, more transparent, and MUCH more affordable fresh-food alternatives that put pet health over profits, clearly disclose ingredient sourcing, and provide full nutrient profiles. Pet owners have a right to demand transparency. KNOW there are better options than JFFD!

I wanted to continue with the fish and sweet potato recipe, but the sweet potato is grossly undercooked. (It comes out looking exactly as it does when it goes in.) It is indigestible. I have called to complain, but the responses are uncaring. They just blow me off.

I bought the low protein h e p t a i c diet for dogs which needed a veterinarian prescription it said it weighed 18 Oz. 7 packages for $76. I figured okay as long as it will help my dog. But then I was reading and read it how their packages were different weights so I weighed the package and it was 18 Oz Frozen and thawed out yeah when you open the package it's really watery so I decided to take out the food and put it through a strainer I couldn't get all the water out of it I even squeezed it with my fingers trying to get it all out it was so soaked so what I did is I put it on the scale and it was only 12 oz. Are they charging for manufacturing, labels, the packaging how could they say you're getting 18 Oz when you're getting 12 oz or even less cuz I couldn't take all the water out. I wrote the company and he wrote back and he wanted to know where I bought it. What! I told him you're the one that packaged it it's not where I bought it from it came from you
I'm going to try to start making my own again since I'm not going to pay for water and I'm trying to find something with low copper low phosphates and low protein for his liver. I'll keep on trying

The user interface is unclear as canceling auto ship does not cancel the order and when I contacted them to have the order canceled they told me that they couldn't do anything after Thursday and claims that they sent emails about it which I have confirmed that I've never received such emails. Now I have to worry about over $300 of an extra expenses.
On top of that, the only food my dog is prescribed to it is frequently out of stock.
I do like how their food have been keeping my dog healthy but the customer service really needs to improve.

Beware of the 50% off your first order. They do not send you your full order and then you have to fight to get your money back. They stated they would refund my money based on their satisfaction guarantee policy; however, they did not. I have disputed the charge with my credit card. I shouldn't have to do that after you tell me the refund was approved. I will not buy directly from this company again!

I decided to use Justfordogs recipe and make my own food using their recipe. I choose the Cod and potatoes. After about a month on this homemade food he started itching all over and excessively. I’m not sure if it’s the food but he didnt itch like this before when I had him on my own recipe with chicken,rice,green beans and broccoli. I’m trying to decide if I need to change companies.The one thing is he loves to eat it.

They don’t care about ur pup they are just money machine. I placed an order for 270 $ ( which i regret) and it arrived in just grey plastic bag. No box nothing. Ridiculous.

Online delivery service is pathetic.. No information of order provided on time.. Dnt respond to mails or calls.. It's been 10 days i have ordered food and still no news about delivery

I recently purchased several items from JustFoodforDogs and unfortunately had to return one of them, which was unopened. To my surprise, the customer service team was extremely rude and unhelpful throughout the entire process. They immediately closed my case with a generic form letter, making it clear that they didn't care about my satisfaction as a customer.

As someone who purchased the item online, I expected to be able to return it online or at my local post office. However, the customer service representative informed me that the only way to get my money back was to drive over 15 miles to their location. As someone without access to a car, this was a ridiculous and unfair request.

I attempted to reach out to their customer service team multiple times, both via email and phone, but received no response. I am extremely disappointed by the level of service I received and will never purchase from JustFoodforDogs again. It's a shame, as I liked their products, but the way they treat their customers is unacceptable.

I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to ensure that other consumers are aware of the poor treatment they may receive from JustFoodforDogs. I urge anyone considering purchasing from them to think twice and support a company that values its customers.

After changing our little 9 yr old Maltese's food, we've noticed that his coat looks healthier, gets less of the tear stains, and seems to have more energy these days. He seems to love it! We definitely recommend them! Especially if you have a smaller breed as it could get pricey with larger breeds if you're only feeding them Just Food.

This company should be called, “Just Keep Charging” because they never delete your credit card information and just keep charging your account.

The food is alright, but there are better options out there. My issue is with the company. They keep sending me autoship orders, charging my credit card and not accepting my multiple requests to return the items. They have a “satisfaction guarantee” yet, do not actually accept returns! I work with a dog rescue and have had five rescue pups year to date. They post on their IG account how much they support rescuing dogs but have given me no support in returning the massive amounts of food that keep showing up on my doorstep.

Furthermore, my Mother had also tried this food a few weeks ago for her pup. She keeps getting emails about an upcoming shipment! Due to my frustrations with the company she canceled her autoship order months ago. When she spoke with customer care via email they told her there was a glitch in the system that keeps sending out processing emails. They told her to just ignore the emails!! One email even referred to an issue with charging her credit card (which is my card because she adopted one of my rescues and I like to purchase her doggy items for her in return). So yet again, another charge!

I wish they would just own up to the “glitch in their system” for my case and let me return the cases upon cases that supposedly had been ordered from my account. My freezer is so full that I cannot fit anymore dog food and none of my dogs are even eating it. What a terrible company. Oh and also, they don’t answer their phone! Can’t make this ridiculousness up.

My goldendoodle has always been disinterested in food, unless she has a guest over. She can go days without eating anything at all, which is very distressing to me. I've tried every quality dog food on the market. Plus, she is sensitive to chicken, which makes it even more challenging. Just Food for Dogs is the only food I've found that she is genuinely eager for. She loves this fresh, human-grade food, which my vet has recommended. Now, incredibly, Just Food for Dogs has opened a retail store very near me, in Wilmette. Wow! What a beautiful store, and what a great variety of meals and treats for dogs. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly. Now I don't have to hassle with boxes and dry ice and foam, I can just pop over and browse the selections, including meals for dogs with special concerns. Love this dog food. And I love the new store! Such a pleasure to see it. I hope they will open more locations!

This company has truly given more years of life to my little Jayden. No one can believe she is almost 14 years old! She has tons of energy and loves the food so so much.

I tell every dog lover about this company. I’m so grateful!

This company is fantastic! Great recipes, great customer service. One of the things I really like is you can cook their recipes at home and use their supplements for balanced nutrition. They also have special prescription diets for dogs with allergies, bladder stones, etc. I have a GSD and I can buy meat in bulk and makes it economical. Have recommended over and over to dog parents.
