A Pup Above Avis 38

My fiancée attempted to call them to pause our subscription because our dog was experiencing diarrhea. Unfortunately, there is nobody to speak to and they force you to text them. She texted them to pause the next order and somehow "a pup above" decided to send us 2 more orders equaling $1,300. When my fiancée fought this they told her that she accidentally ordered 4 months before pausing subscription. Of course, that is not true and we have evidence via text, etc. We are contacting our credit card company, BBB, etc. This is the worst experience we have had with a dog food supplier and we sincerely warn any future customers from doing business with them. Our story is not unique as you see other Reviewers with similar stories.

Very disappointing experience with A Pup Above.

I paused my subscription because my dog became very sick on their food, yet they still processed TWO orders back-to-back, totaling over $1,300 in frozen dog food. That’s an unreasonable amount for any household to store.

I tried contacting them multiple times through email, phone, and text before shipment and received no help. They shipped both orders anyway and are now refusing a refund.

I’ve since escalated this through PayPal.

Just be aware before ordering.

They spam me with their emails. I never signed up for them just randomly started getting them. I used their unsubscribe link and said it was successful yet continue to get their emails. I reached out to them to tell them to stop spamming me with their emails and they "claim" they "attempted" to remove my email address from their email list but here we are, a month later and I am STILL getting them. Why would I ever bother ordering from a company that spams with emails I didn't sign up for and pretend they do it but clearly they don't.

It was good until it wasn't....long story short, my dog loves 'A Pup Above' but their customer service and their subscription service needs major improvement. I got double-shipped a big shipment of food (7lb/$300 order x 2) and am very upset due to 1) being charged twice within days of each other and 2) I have no room for 14lbs of frozen food in my fridge!! I emailed customer service saying that I did not authorize the 2nd subscription shipment that was placed at 2am (I was asleep when the additional subscription/order was placed) and their response was 'Did you perhaps hit the 'send now' button?' indicating that I had maybe made a mistake and accidentally ordered more food in my sleep?!?! They will do nothing but say 'sorry the shipment has already been shipped.' I am beyond frustrated with this whole situation. It's upsetting because my dog loves the food but I refuse to continue spending my hard earned money on a company that refuses to do right by their customers. Save yourself the trouble, don't sign up for their subscription plan...as evidenced by other negative reviews here. It's a shit-show.

OMG! My dog, Major loves the Turkey and Pork Luau. He is a German Short Hair Pointer, so weighs about 70lbs. We feed a very high quality kibble, but the lady at our pet store encouraged me to feed gently cooked food over canned food to increase the flavour, and it’s healthier. So now we add about half a patty to his meals and he just loves it!

We started feeding our dog Baxter ,A Pup Above around 2 months ago. I saw it at my local pet store when I went in to buy her a new leash. We have been feeding him the Beef Stew and he goes crazy for it!! It actually looks like Beef Stew! We were buying her food from another gently cooked company on-line, but she definitely likes this brand better! Thanks A Pup Above!!

I recently switched to A Pup Above and couldn’t be happier with the results. I have three dogs—Bella, a 16-year-old Chihuahua, Bailey, a 4-year-old pug mix, and Roman, a 2-year-old boxer—and they all absolutely love it! From the moment I opened the first package, I could tell this food was different. The ingredients are fresh and wholesome, and I feel great knowing I’m feeding my dogs real, nutritious meals.

Bella, who’s much older and has difficulty eating in her senior years, eats it right up, which is fantastic to see. Bailey and Roman are both energetic and have thrived on this food; their coats are shinier and seem even more active and happy.

On top of that, the customer service has been excellent—responsive and helpful. A Pup Above truly cares about pets and their health, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Our dogs love the Turkey Pawella and are genuinely excited to eat again. The product is easy to serve and I love that it is fresh and I can see the ingredients! Highly recommend!

I tried this food as an alternative to Farmer's Dog since the quality seem to be off and my dogs were not eating.

We got the sampler pack and it's now our go to food for our pups. They love all the recipes and you can tell how much meat is in these stuff...!

I love this food! Luna, my 13 year old multipoo loves it more! She has always been such a picky eater and I've always had to find creative ways to get her to eat. I bought the Texas Beef Stew and she ate every little morsel in her bowl. We are going to try the Porky's Luau next. It's a relief to find a food that is human grade, not full of junk and my pup loves.

I place an order for a sample pack last week, It came up as free. I got an email confirming my order. then 2 days later the email me again and cancel my order tell me that I have to buy something to get the sampler. Why would I order food 1st then buy the sample? I want the sample to see if my dog likes it. If your website gives it to me free, thats your bad and not mine. Honor your screw up, fix it and move on.

Great food. Terrible customer service. Can’t reach them directly. The emails or hit or miss (mostly miss) they never spoke and don’t ship for food that is paid for. I am 3 weeks late on my subscription that I paid for (and it’s expensive) and they could care less. No way to get a hold of a human.

MY DOG DIED THE LAST WEEK IN FEBRUARY. I WENT ONLINE TO FIND A NUMBER TO CALL TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION...NO NUMBER! Each month I would go online to cancel, since no communication followed I had to assume it was cancelled...until another box arrived. 5 times I attempted to cancel under "manage your subscription. Now I have been charged for 6 shipments at $141.00 per shipment and they are refusing to refund. I even started sending it back but guess what.. theres no where to return it. Poor customer service and heartbreaking after losing my pup.

Switched from The Farmer's Dog to A Pup Above. My dog loves A Pup Above fresh food especially the beef stew. I'm so glad I found this food! So much better!

Amazing food for your pup!! When I received the package I was amazed by this company. The way they invest in the packaging is amazing and the quality is great!! My dog loves eating carrots so this was perfect for her!

The food was packaged very well and my dogs loved the food! super easy to feed and has great ingredients.

The quality of the food is above all others! My dogs devour the frozen patties in minutes. As a dog mom, I appreciate the cooking techniques, locally sourced ingredients, veterinary formulated recipes, and the ability to track all ingredients! What more could I ask for for my family members?

My corgis are big fans of A Pup Above's gently cooked frozen food. I love that they are made with human grade ingredients and plenty of veggies. My pickiest eater of the three definitely loves this food and he gobbles it right down.

Our order shipped very quickly! It was packaged very well & still frozen using arrival! The ingredients are wonderful!

My dog tried A Pup Above via a partnership with pupfluence. She loved the fresh food and I loved how easy the entire process was. The food was delivered frozen and I placed it the freezer. I pulled it out and thawed before use and it could not have been more simple.
