I had full coverage with Kemper…

I had full coverage with Kemper (Infinity), and my experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

When I needed to replace my windshield, I went through an official dealer and provided a legitimate itemized invoice for the OEM repair. Instead of honoring my coverage, the insurance company refused to approve the actual cost and claimed it was “too expensive.” They then pressured me to install a cheaper aftermarket (non-original) windshield or pay the difference myself.

This is completely unacceptable. I specifically pay for full coverage to ensure that my vehicle is repaired properly with original parts. My car is high value and originally equipped with OEM glass, and replacing it with a lower-quality aftermarket part compromises both safety and value.

Forcing customers into cheaper repairs or out-of-pocket expenses under “full coverage” is misleading and defeats the entire purpose of comprehensive insurance. I strongly regret choosing this company and would not recommend it based on this experience.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service! For years didn’t call them but when need them for towing service it was terrible, it took 3 to 3 and half hours to arrive location, definitely do not recommend them for car insurance.

8-Year Loyal Customer Ignored: App and Agents are

I have been a loyal Kemper customer for 8 years, but my recent experience has been incredibly frustrating. I used the mobile app to remove a vehicle from my policy, and while the app correctly shows the car has been removed, their live agents claim it is still active in their system.
It is unacceptable that a company this large has such a major disconnect between its digital platform and its customer service staff. I am being told one thing by their technology and another by their people. As a customer of nearly a decade, I expected a seamless experience, not a technical glitch that I have to spend hours trying to resolve. Kemper needs to fix their internal synchronization before they lose long-term clients

This is by far the worst insurance…

This is by far the worst insurance agency I have dealt with in my entire life. Avoid at all costs.

Had them for years, mostly no contact.

I had an accident and fire policy.

I recently had an accident and wasn't satisfied with payout, no big deal, called in to cancel policy. That is when the problems started.

It's been 2 months.

Customer service is so bad I decided to cancel all policies. Yet they still kept billing me. Then after getting the run around to even contact a manager they finally said its all canceled and a refund was issued. Multiple weeks later, no refund issued, and payments keep coming out.

Going to have to do stop payments on them.

Moral of the story: don't believe anything they tell you on the phone, after spending days trying to even escalate a phone call. I highly doubt they will be of any help when you need them.

They falsely notified the dmv of…

They falsely notified the department of motor vehicles of my insurance lapsing when in fact , I had new insurance within the proper time frame. Now the DMV is attempting to suspend my registration for 3 months and pay a restoration fee of $500! Kemper wont fix their screw up down to management! Poor customer service skills to say the least! When I have hard proof of my cancelation date with them and moving on to the new insurance. I didnt leave on bad terms, I paid on time, and I just needed BETTER coverage at a better rate, but even so, they had no right. Never had a lapse of insurance the past 10 years of driving and this is the first time I have ever had an issue because customer service reps are lazy to look further and do their jobs and notify the proper channels of this mistake. Would never do business with them ever again! To top it off just found out they sent me to collections for the remaining $39 I wasnt aware about because a bill wasnt sent out. NEVER AGAIN

Unprofessional

Had an awful experience with their adjuster Jiya Melton she was very rude and unprofessional. She does not know how to deal with clients not renewing with this company thanks to this ugly interaction and her supervisor Michael Davis never called back.

Poor Refund Handling and Confusing Customer Service Experience

I’ve held insurance with them for a year, and with my policy ending in four days, I’m switching to another provider. When I briefly added an SUV, they increased my premium—which I paid. But after removing the SUV, the $203 refund I was owed never came. Now, at renewal time, they’re still asking me to pay the full premium of $212 for a month as if they forgot to pay me back. On top of that, communication is a mess because you get tossed back and forth between Kemper and the broker (SSB). Overall, a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Rodrigo Robles has helped me more than any other over the phone representative, he gave me information that nobody in the past had mentioned over the last 3 years that I've had Kemper insurance, he was kind, informative, and very professional, made me feel like I was talking to a friend, give that man a raise! Worst insurance company ever

Should be 0 stars. Worst insurance company ever. They don’t call back and their voicemail says to. All their supervisor at xxx extension. But the supervisor doesn’t call back either and you can’t dial by name or extension so no way to get hold of anyone else. Seriously the worst insurance company for auto ever. Stay far away!!!!

My insurance company gave me multiple, conflicting reasons for putting me at fault in an accident — even after the police corrected their report to support my side. Despite that, they still ignored the updated evidence.

An adjuster told me it’s “cheaper to settle than go to court,” which made it clear: they’d rather close the case than defend their own policyholder.

Bottom line: They chose to settle instead of defending me. It was cheaper to blame me than deal with a lawyer.

Got hit by Kemper client on 4/27/25

Got hit by Kemper client on 4/27/25, person did not even have a license. He was driving the parents car. He was from another country. He admitted he was at fault my car was towed. Cost me 400. 00 to get it out and have it towed to my home. After several calls to their adjustor finally got to speak to him. He stated the car was a total loss. Said he had sent his client a letter and left many message and they will not call him back. He asked for pictures and a accident report. I told him he can order that. Call them today received a call by from a lady that stated that they could not get in touch with their client. I stated what does that mean for me I do not have my car and the first adjustor stated my car was a total loss. She said if they could not get in connect with their client they would close the file. I said what does that mean for me she stated you can go to your insurance. I said no I was not at fault. How can an insurance company just tell someone sorry for you.

Kemper delayed my not-at-fault claim…

Kemper delayed my not-at-fault claim for over a month, refused to pay for loss of use or my rental expenses, and ignored my requests. They forced me to use my own coverage despite full liability being accepted by Progressive. Their adjusters miscommunicated, and I’m still waiting for reimbursement. I’ve filed complaints with DFS and the Attorney General. This company does not stand by its customers.

Kemper refuses to pay claim!

One of Kemper's clients rear ended me and they will not pay up. They take in their clients payments each month, but when it's their turn to pay out, they refuse. Sorry excuse for an insurance company.

to all of the ones that's looking for a good insurance company. Please keep looking because KEMPER is not the one. Amber gave me an Estimate for my car on a Friday before the Holaday so I called Amber the next biasness day she never returned my call. I called Amber she sent me a check for way more less than what we recused over the phone. PS i don't want an apology just DO BETTER!

Horrible company

I put insurance on my dead sons car since it's fixed this has been the wost experience they have changed the policy 4 times and still didn't get this righ5 and they added names that was listed at this addresfrom years ago this is the worst ,I called 7 times and they still don't have it correct

kemper claimed i didn't pay when they had charged me double they left me with no insurance for 2 weeks even after I provided proof, so i got another insurance now they claim my policy was active all along after a 3 week investigation they charged me over $150 in cancellation fees after they messed up is this legal? I would give them zero stars if it was possible.

Avoid at all cost. They are overcharging compared to other insurance providers (GEICO, progressive, statefarm, etc) and they will hike your rates as soon as you renew your policy. In addition, if you decide to change your provider, they won’t reimburse you for your remaining days, despite them stating that you pay by day. Was paying 471 a month for my vehicle without uninsured motorist bodily injury (a pure ripoff). Slashed my premium by more than 50% when switching to GEICO with better coverage.

They are fraudulent in every way!!

The excluded my sister who does not live with me from my policy and when I noticed that, I didn't sign the Agreement as I was planning on contacting them regarding this. Kemper decides to take the matter into their own hands and adds her to the policy, bills an addition 6k dollars because they have no background driving history and listed her as a high risk driver to my policy!!! She has been driving for over 30 years with no accident or tickets but because they couldn't find info on her (?) they put her down as a new driver and high risk!! Can you believe that? So now they are basically charging me $1400+ for 20 days of having her "included" on my policy where she was originally listed as excluded!! Their form of communication is snail mail rather than a phone call to let me know that this was going to happen.

AIS is also at fault for adding her name to the application when they had no right to do that, even if it was to exclude her. She should not have been listed as that waives Permissive Use coverage!! There needs to be legal action taken against Kemper. They cannot make changes on an agreement that was never approved/signed. What they could do is say they will cancel the policy and refund the difference of what I paid in advance but to add someone and make assumptions on their driving history????
