I recently tried the nourish now meals from Kurami and they were delicious! After a week of travelling, they held up so well in the freezer and were the perfect meal to come home to!

I cannot recommend this service enough, tasty and great portion sizes. 10/10 for sure

I have had a weekly subscription for a while now

I have had a weekly subscription with Kurami for about 5 months. I have lost weight, feel great. For me the its has taken the pressure off deciding (and preparing) a healthy meal in the evenings. The food is great, and fresh. Also customer service has been very responsive.

Used weekly for 15 months, absolutely fantastic!

I'm based in central London, have been using Kurami for 15 months, and absolutely love it! Excellent service, great food, and fresh deliveries. My colleague has just started using them too.

I get the boxes delivered to the office, and the deliveries 3 times each week are exactly the right balance of freshness vs overhead (other services deliver daily or weekly). The deliveries are also in the morning, and timed so that there will be staff in the office to accept the delivery (not too early or the night before, as with other services). The food is fresh, and the varying menu really makes mealtimes interesting.

You can't choose the food you get each week, they mix up the menu - which I actually think is a real benefit as you don't need to think about choosing what to eat. This service saves me time and headspace.

Over the 15 months there have only been a handful of occasions where there's been issues with delivery, which is a really great track record all things considered. Very reliable.

Compared with all the other companies I looked at that offer the same, these meals genuinely seem to be prepared with love and good taste.

Irresponsive customer service team made a small mistake so much worse; disorganized delivery experience; overall, feels very SCAMMY

I genuinely hope they improve their service or go out of business so no one will experience what I've experienced. Such a small issue turned into a horrible and deeply personally upsetting experience - what an unexpected escalation!

As an outcome of my dispute with my credit card provider, I was not able to be refunded due to agreeing to Kurami's Terms of Service (rationale provided by HSBC):

"11.6. We shall not be liable for any non-delivery, even if it is our fault, unless you notify us by email by 23:59 on the due day. Any liability for non-delivery shall be limited to replacing the ordered products within a reasonable time or issuing a credit note to you for that day/the value of the order."

Ironically, I would not be able to know what to expect in the delivery as there were no notes in the box or email notifications sent to me. So complying with their requirement in the ToS is impossible.

They graciously offered £88 as a "goodwill" and do not accept fault. Sadly, this means nothing to me as the last thing I want is to engage with their service any further.

They have made resolving a small mistake into litigating our self-procliamed righteousness over the past 4 weeks. I feel gaslit into thinking that my experience was made up and not real, that I lied to them.

What a HORRIBLE experience, - from ordering the product to managing the dispute process for such a small issue - typically small mistakes like these are compensated by excellence in customer service, yet they've managed to make it so much worse.

Kurami's incompetence in customer service (from common sense to responsiveness) just makes competitor services such as Simmer, Frive, seem so much more professional, organized, and trustworthy.

Thought I'd give them a try as their service a try, though they are significantly overpriced compared to other comparable services, as I'm recovering from surgery and nutrition is super important for me.

A few issues that justify my one star for them:
1. Did not provide the menu upfront, despite having signed up to their newsletter per their FAQ page. So I had no idea what I was getting.
2. After they take your money, no communication whatsoever about the delivery, delivery times, what is being delivered, reheating instructions, etc.
3. No advance noticed for the delivery, contrary to how most e-commerce site manage delivery notifications. Woke the entire house up at 7am on a Saturday.
4. Customer service only gives polite ineffective responses that clearly shows they have not read my message.
5. My second delivery had 4 items missing (a significant portion of my 4-day meal plan).
6. Attempted to contact their support team via Live Chat, leaving them a message via their website, emailing all their email addresses on the website, and reaching out to the CEO Camillia on LinkedIn. No resolution after 3 business days.

After reading the recent reviews, I am quite tempted to report credit card fraud on this business and call it a day as I don't want to deal with this issue for weeks (like the previous review's experience) as it's totally not worth it. A service that was supposed to save me time and hassle ended up costing me exactly that.

Lastly, worth mentioning that I didn't like their food and had to throw most of their items away. This is a personal take. In hindsight, I don't think their menu offers significantly differentiated nutritional value compared to services like Simmer, Lions Prep, etc which offers much better customer service satisfaction. When they're in the wrong, not only are they proactive about correcting themselves, they often offer discounts as a gesture of goodwill. On the other hand, with Kurami, I'm just getting ghosted and my issues are just brushed off by brief messages from their support team confirming that they've done everything correctly.

Firstly, thank you for sharing these experiences at Kurami; our team member has offered compensation despite us being forced to rule this case as a non-Kurami incident.


Nonetheless, we would be happy to address each of your points, hoping that this will help outline some key areas of concern.

1. Once signed up for marketing, our menus are sent automatically via email each Tuesday of the week prior. If this was not the case, we are very sorry! We would be happy to look into this as an isolated incident. If a client is not signed up, we always provide paper-form menus as you receive them. Additionally, a complete itemised ingredient list is presented on all Kurami labels.

2. We can confirm that your order was placed with a start date of Friday, 31st, which was fulfilled and delivered accordingly. Please note that heating instructions are included on all menu copies.

3. Kurami do not deliver on Saturdays, so we must confirm that our delivery partner did not wake you. Our delivery window is always advertised as between 06:30 and 09:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is also confirmed in your confirmation email. If you prefer to avoid being woken up, you can edit delivery instructions by emailing us, requesting that your box be left in a safe place and not ring the doorbell! Further delivery info can be found on our FAQ page.

We went ahead and raised your complaint with our kitchen and operations manager, who all confirmed that the delivery labels and the weight of our boxes indicated that all your meals were included in your box. Unfortunately, the complaint was received four days after the delivery, so we could not get pictures from you.

However, as an exception and a gesture of goodwill, we agreed to offer you not just one but two complimentary days to be re-booked on a date of your choice.

We genuinely apologise for any confusion that may have occurred. We tried to call you a few times, as we aim to resolve any issues with our clients as smoothly as possible.

We truly hope we can fix this for you, as we would hate for this to be your final experience with Kurami.

Food is ok when it arrives. Stole money

Food is ok when it arrives. Quite expensive for what it is. However, despite relatively responsive customer support, they have refused to fully refund what was primarily their mistake despite weeks of back and forth. This means they have effectively stolen £200+ from myself and my partner. This has completely eroded the trust in this company especially when alternatives such as Lions Prep and Fresh Fitness Food are cheaper and more reliable (and subjectively tastier).

Good product; customer policies need to be improved

Overall this is a good meal service for those who want to eat in this way.

The meals themselves are varied and very well presented. The ingredients are fresh and, as advertised, many different types of plants. I didn't feel hungry after the meals, and I felt very good with steady energy after a few days using the service. However, it is a certain way of eating, its not for everyone.

The delivery was on time and the drivers were very pleasant.

For the food and drivers, I would have given 4 or 5 stars. But I am giving 3 stars only because of my very poor customer service experience when starting the program -- my first day of meals did not arrive on the day confirmed, and, when I reached out to customer service, they indicated only that I had missed an unannounced deadline by a few minutes for delivery that day when I signed up (even though the orders were paid for and confirmed for that day). Instead of allowing me to cancel, customer service took no responsibility for the issue and only allowed me to reschedule (albeit with an extra free day). I understand companies' cash flow needs, but in this case Kurami needs to revisit their policies to have a more customer-centric approach, as well as fix the glitch in their ordering system -- as I can see from other reviews that I was not the only person to have this problem.

Ordered a 2 days menu

Ordered a 2 days menu, the food arrived late and half of it is practically not eatable. The meals just have no taste, yes they have healthy ingredients but that's not enough to charge 80+ pounds for a 2 days meal set. Very disappointed, ended up having a bloated stomach after a salad with tofu and had to throw away the second day food to the bin.

Some of it tasted great and definitely felt healthy but already day one salad felt a bit old by day 1 so then day 2 salad felt quite old.

The beetroot pitta bread was soggy. At least put it on top and separate..

Is it worth it, would I do it again? not sure…

We’d like to assure you that all Kurami meals are prepared fresh to order and are sent directly from our kitchen to yours, the morning of. We also implement further measures, including ice packs during transit and advertised recommendations to store food right away, maintaining absolute freshness. While the incident of the salads seems to be an isolated complaint for this week, I have forwarded this to our head of kitchen and can confirm that all storage and control checks were ticked off for this week.

We do take feedback seriously and will continue to monitor this. We are also more than willing to explore options to package the pitta bread separately to maintain its integrity and freshness. We do this for certain ingredients already and will make this suggestion to our kitchen team.

I bought a box of the nationwide meals…

I bought a box of the nationwide meals i.e. meals that can be frozen to eat later. Some had leaked during packing/transport so opening them was very messy/awkward. I desperately wanted to love the food as looking for a convenient/healthy meal options but overall feel disappointed. I am not sure if I'm cooking them wrong but the meals were very watery after being heated up (kimchi fried rice and thai curry) which was unappetizing. I also cooked one meal in the oven to see if this would help with the watery-ness but it still came out the same and I was left with a very strong chemical odor - don't think the packaging liked being heated up. The salmon was the best of the bunch. They may work for someone else but just not for me.

Tasty food

REVIEW EDITED updated from 3 STARS to 4 following discussion with Kurami about the delivery and action taken to streamline communication between the courier and the company in case of issues. Review text also updated as it is now clarified that the customer service issues were actually on the side of the courier (Quiver) and not Kurami.

Ordering:
The preview of the menus doesn't give a huge insight into the range of what you might receive, so I chose the 5 Day Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack Nourish Path meal plan in order to get the best idea possible of the offering.

You can give a preference of things to avoid in a note, but as you don't see the full menu, you cannot opt in or out of specific dishes. Choosing between the different meal paths is also difficult as they look identical from the sample menus, so this could be improved.
The website, as with the socials is highly curated, so it looks very sleek and high quality, but the cost is also minimal information. It would be useful if the dishes were at least labelled in the images to help identify them and give more insight as to the variety available.

The Food:
Overall, all the food was delicious, and every day was sufficiently different to not feel repetitive despite the key elements usually being similar: lots of grains and greens. I did find that it could be quite dry at times, but still tasty without resorting to additional sauces. For me the best meal by far was the Brazilian Moqueca, which was a generously portioned stew. I certainly did not feel hungry whilst on this meal path, and let's say that everything was very regular too.

Customer service:
Unfortunately my second delivery went astray and was delivered to the incorrect address. Customer service at the courier (Quiver) were able to advise of what had happened, but the recommendation on day 2 was that I go fetch it, which was surprising. Regardless, we retrieved the delivery, from where it had been delivered, to the next street over. It seemed unusual to be directed to eat food that had been out of the fridge for two days, and the icepack was completely warm, but the customer service did not provide any alternatives and the mis-delivery was not communicated to Kurami HQ. As most of the box was vegetarian, I did proceed with caution with most dishes, although the chicken was disposed of. There was a chocolate mouse, and yoghurt pot that were completely spoilt (split and runny). Kurami's FAQs make clear that they will not accept any responsibility for lost or damaged deliveries, so I did not follow up with them directly at the time. I have since emailed with them and they did indeed offer a discount code should I come back and subscribe.

Overall, it was a good experience. I would certainly have liked to continue with a subscription to see how engaging the menu remains over an extended period. Obviously it cannot be faulted for ease when it comes to mealtimes, as you will always have something filling and tasty within 5 minutes. One star has been deducted due to the issues with delivery.

Nonetheless, we have provided your feedback to our social and marketing team and take your remarks regarding the clarity of different menu types and labelling of individual dishes fully on board. It is perhaps most concerning to us that your delivery was delivered incorrectly. We expect all clients to be comfortable and aware of when their dishes will arrive. We also strive to respond to and resolve all queries as soon as possible should, on rare occasions, something go wrong. Delivery addresses will always be captured based on data inputted on clients accounts, however we can surely check this for you and if something has gone wrong we would be more than willing to investigate this, even now.

Unfortunately, I can see that there appear to be no incoming emails or liaisons relating to your account or order details. Additionally, kindly note that we only deliver via DPD for Nationwide orders, I can see in this case the full week of your 5-Day plan was delivered with Quiver, our current third-party service for all London-based clients. This leads us to believe that this may relate to a different delivery.

We were unfortunately not aware of any mis-delivery or damaged food during your one-off order with us and would love to understand this all further so that we can assist. If you could kindly forward any previous correspondence/email thread from us, plus any additional details to info@kurami.co.uk, we will investigate this further for you and help resolve this in any way that we can.

Wonderful healthy food

Great company providing super healthy, gut friendly, food options. I'm gluten & dairy intolerant, and as a busy entrepreneur, it's very hard to eat/cook well. I've always eat out/order from Deliveroo, but can't find consistently delicious and healthy options on Deliveroo. Recently did a gut test through Zoe, and realised that my gut is not in its best shape and I really need to fix my health through a better diet.

I value the diversity & customisability of Kurami meals. Also some meals are really tasty, and honestly for the price, it's totally worth it. Will be ordering more frequently when back from holidays.

Delivery company did deliver a bit later than expected, which is ok for someone like me who does intermittent fasting and doesn't eat breakfast, but might be an issue for someone who does eat breakfast. Kurami support is great though, with really fast support, and I believe they are actively trying to fix the issue to ensure the delivery would be on time.

But nonetheless, it really is a unique service, and magical that it exists in this empire of ultra processed food. Wholeheartedly support Kurami! Please keep up the good work.

I'm still waiting on my refund and it's…

I'm still waiting on my refund and it's been over 30 days. In this financial climate I feel it's very poor that a company provide no product, give poor customer communication (in me having to prove I didn't receive the products and continuously ask for a refund).

As well as the above I'm now waiting on a refund that I was told could not be sped up and have to wait the full 30 days.

Please Kurami get this sorted and reply to my email I sent asking where my refund is.
