Poor customer service / aftercare

I’m disappointed with both the product and the customer service from Lime Wash UK.

I purchased one of their brushes (£18.99) to use with their paint, but it shed excessively during normal use — around 30 bristles in just a 2m x 1m test area.

… I fully understand that new brushes can shed slightly at first, but this was far beyond what I would reasonably expect, especially at this price point.

I contacted the company to raise the issue, as the shedding has affected my ability to apply the paint properly.

Unfortunately, the response I received was dismissive and unhelpful. I was told shedding is “normal” and the conversation kept being redirected to wall preparation, which is irrelevant to bristles falling out of a brush.
I was then told I could return the brush if I believed it was faulty — only to later be told I couldn’t return it because it had been used. That contradiction speaks for itself. You cannot identify a faulty brush without using it.

More disappointing than the product itself was the tone and handling of the situation. A simple acknowledgement of the concern and a more constructive approach would have made a big difference and I’ve been left with no resolution and a £18.99 brush that doesn’t work like a brush.
**my last message was simply left without any response from the company** which gave me no choice to prompt a review.

Having since looked at other reviews, it seems I’m not alone in experiencing this type of response when raising a genuine concern.

Based on my experience, I would be cautious about both the product quality and the aftercare.

Charcoal

Hesitant using limewash for the first time as the new property we moved into had a very light coat however I wanted a dark bar in the garden for hosting parties in 2026 and wow limewash.com was fantastic, the tones and depth this created was more than I expected. I watched the videos to ensure I was doing this correctly but in all honestly you can't go wrong and created the perfect masterpiece. Can't wait to decorate the inside house next.

I spent about £150 on Limewash pant and…

I spent about £150 on Limewash pant and a brush with Limewash.com. The first coat turned out ok, I then applied the second coat (different tin) which turned out to be a disaster, the paint must have been a bad mix. I did notice a small amount of moisture around the lid when opening the pot. I contacted Limewash.com who were very unhelpful. I have had to paint over the Limewash paint, and have wasted a week or so and £150 for the pleasure.

Awful

What an awful company who speak to women like something on the bottom of their shoe. I contacted via WhatsApp to express my dissatisfaction with the paint I’ve received. Like actual water, followed all their very (quite rude) advice to thicken the paint up, left it to dry and it’s exactly the same, no limewash effect just a dirty water colour. I had missed calls from them, which is strange in itself. They’ve turned very nasty on WhatsApp, said I’ve broken the law because I intend to leave a review. Unfortunately for them, I do actually work within the legal sector and know I’m 100% entitled to leave a review of my honest experience. Very rude people managing this company. Ergh

Major colour inconsistency + poor complaint handling / refused manager call

We ordered Limewash paint in Chickpea (Orders 21608 & 22385) after testing it on one wall and loving the colour. We then purchased enough of the same colour to finish the room, only to find the second batch dried a completely different shade. The room now has mismatched walls, meaning we’ve wasted hundreds of pounds in prep coat/paint/top coat and paid labour twice.

To make matters worse, the first batch was also extremely chalky and could rub off, whereas the second batch adhered much better, so there may have been a quality/batch issue as well.

The customer service handling has been incredibly frustrating. I raised the issue on 17th December and was told it would be escalated, but it took weeks of chasing to get anywhere. I was told I would be sent two sample pots to help resolve it, but only one arrived — and it was labelled Chickpea, which was the colour we’d already said didn’t match what we originally received.

I also repeatedly asked to speak to a manager because WhatsApp messages are not an appropriate way to resolve a formal complaint, especially when you’re dealing with a family home and kids displaced while waiting. Instead of giving me a number or arranging a call, I was met with unprofessional responses like “Excuse me?” and told to “keep this professional”.

They also claimed I was sending inconsistent photos / not showing the paint they sent, which is simply not true — I’ve consistently shown the two different batches that don’t match.

At this point we may have to scrap the whole system and buy a new paint system from another company. I would not recommend based on the batch inconsistency and the way the complaint has been handled.

Scam "Bought a batch of lime-wash paint from…

"Bought a batch of lime-wash paint from after seeing their website description promising a specific colour and finish. The product that arrived was completely off-spec - the shade was wrong. When I contacted customer service to request a refund according to their stated policy, I was met with rudeness and total radio silence. After days of ignored emails and unanswered phone calls, they eventually offered a paltry 30% refund and then disappeared again. I've now started a chargeback with my card provider and will be filing a complaint with Trading Standards. This is sheer greed and unprofessional conduct.
Do yourself a favour and stay away from
Three times I rang them no answer and two messages to find where the store was located. I got an email reply saying I was harassing and making threats. Stay clear I was one who was scammed of £60
