Whilst the purchasing of our home was not straightforward by any means, it would have been made more complicated without the expert advice and guidance offered by our representative from Lockings, Lucy Pickering. She is an absolute star, no job was too much, she worked outside of her hours, and genuinely/generally ensured that we were able to complete on time. I could not recommend her highly enough, worth going to Lockings just for her support.

Most of the work was electronic which made things easier when there was 3 of us who had to sign for everything.

Moving is very stressful and Declan, Ed and the CS Team were great in helping us make some difficult but ultimately the right decisions. And they successfully chased all the other solicitors in the chain. I would highly recommend using a local firm such as Lockings for your house move and avoid like the plague the slightly cheaper online conveyancing services who just do not cut it IMO.

Lockings solicitors in Beverley are completely unprofessional. Adele in particular was rude about us to a colleague via email who in turn forwarded the email on to us! Not pleasant to receive and completely unjustified. Also, Stamp Duty was calculated wrong. I have used Lockings for previous house sales and purchases but will definitely not use again. Terrible solicitors who are incompetent and arrogant. Their only saving grace is William who we found to be thorough and approachable.

Dealt with Rachelle & Stephanie for the purchase of our new home and we couldn’t fault both of them at all. Their attention to detail and quick responses to any queries made the whole process a lot less stressful for us.

Both very friendly and clearly knowledgeable about their jobs as everything was explained to us throughout.
It feels like some solicitors can drag their feet but Rachelle was chasing and following up constantly with the sellers solicitors and providing updates weekly to us. Although we would have been one of many cases, it felt as though we was the only one as responses to emails were fast and more often than not, any questions we wanted to ask was already answered!

Searches, paperwork and other documents needed for the sale was all completed in a timely manner and we felt that we wasn’t waiting for Lockings to get back to the sellers solicitors for anything.

We also popped into the Hull office twice to drop paperwork off, and the reception staff were also very friendly and scanned copies quickly so no time was wasted.

We wouldn’t use any one else, and they are now dealing with the sale of our previous home too.

Overall our experience of these solicitors was 5* and we recommend them to friends and family when we speak about the house.
