They came today, fix my door lock and ask 700+ for fixing, I disagree and they still charge me 78£ for nothing! Avoid these people!!!

We were locked out of the house. Searched on the internet and a company called lock serv limited came up. They said it’s zero call out fee but when they came they charged us upwards of 300. After much deliberation we bought it down to 120. We now have a new locksmith who is fixing the door and said that the word done by this company is very shoddy and apparently they are very well known to the genuine traders as shoddy and cowboys. So pls pls pls don’t go with this so called “company”

Do not use this company! Utter cowboys. Vastly over inflated prices and shoddy work. Avoid at all costs. We were charged over £2,000 for a job which a local locksmith did for £277 !!!

Do not use this business. I have reported to police and trading standards. Charge elderly person £400 for simple lock sticking job. Tell you that they won’t accept card, charge vat. Increase price from phone to visit. Threaten elderly person with bailiffs then record themselves screaming they’re being attacked when they’re not to scare you to pay. I have been onto Rogue traders on BBC tv also.

Scammer! Quoted £50 on the phone, then charged me almost a grand and the lock has broken within less than 2 months. Going to ring tomorrow for a replacement and threaten them with calling trading standards and the council

These cowboys ripped off an elderly, vulnerable neighbour. They charged her £1000 for an absolute shoddy job, the mechanism is the wrong way round so the door doesnt shut correctly. Absolute shocking service. Avoid these rogue traders at all costs

Do no use this company! I have the same story as others on here I was quoted £50 over the phone and they gave me a bill for £600 once completed. If you have to use them, get them to write down the full price first. FYI I’ve found that locks cost between £20-40.

I called for a job on the net for a new lock set change l was charged £29 for lock and £69 for labour on the phone and this guy claiming to be from Lock Serv Limted showed up.After seeing the door, he said the job is different it's a new installation and said it will cost me £450 and l said not a chance.l don't want, you can go and he said no way lm leaving l need cancelling fee of £48. Jeez l was daylight robbed and argued u never metioned on the phone any of this and the blame was laid on me. I told the guy that l will use every single heart beat in me to fight for my hard earned. Never Never and Never please accept anyone from the company called lock Serv limited and deal with a gentleman claiming to be a technician with a lots of beard tall guy l have him on camera and his car my door camera picked it. If ever you call for lock smith kindly check where they are coming and which company they represent and make sure you ask on the phone the company. If you hear Lock Serve Limited run for your dear life and money.

Don’t use this service!! The prices are extortionate to replace a lock. I was given 3 keys - one of which doesn’t work and I can’t get in touch with anyone to discuss. This whole episode has cost me just shy of £600!!
Fair enough - I was able to get into the property and they came fairly quickly but I had suspicions straight away as lock smith turned up in unmarked car and no name anywhere on him as ID to identify himself. If it wasn’t because I was desperate, I wouldn’t have used the service.

Filthy thieves tried to charge £700 to change a lock sent them packing but had to pay £85 call out charges. Disgusting rip off merchants. If they come in a car don’t open the door.

There is some rude guy claiming to be from Lock Serv Limited who is just a thief. He stole a job from a local locksmiths we called and who quoted £170 and this guy came instead and charged £520 and hassled my husband for £20 cash tip for him on top. He gave us a Lock Serv Limited invoice but we are based in London. He was rude and threatening. He needs reporting to the police as the original company who we went to ended up refunding us the money and this absolute scum of the earth walked away with the money.

This company came to unlock the door after my young son had locked himself out. I was away at the time. He was originally quoted £80, but finished with a bill for £594. When my son contacted me, I suggested get another quote, however he advised the rep had already started to drill the lock. They took advantage of a young man to steal £594. **DON'T USE THIS COMPANY**

This company will come out for "free" then charge you a fortune for the work. I asked them to call me with a price, on attendance, which they didn't. They completed the work then charged a ridiculous amount.

My dad got ripped off

My dads multipoint lock failed and required a locksmith to come out to open the door and replace the lock.

For context:
The front door gearbox had failed - supposedly
The door would not open but he could get in and out of the back door just fine.
This was a Saturday afternoon approx 1.30

On the phone he agreed £39 for the callout

The bill:
Supply and fit new fire safety lock - new euro barrel with thumb turn £220 (at most £40)
Full strip with gearbox £670 (cost around £100-£150)
Open locked door £280 (was there for less than half hour) - I am aware you pay for the skill when it comes to time but even so...
Labour to fit new parts £150 (less than an hours work at worst)
Total price £1320 plus the VAT (£1589 inc)

£430 labor for at most an hour and a halfs work
£890 Parts should only have cost £200-£300 max

This was the Thornton Cleverlys locksmith targeting the elderly by the looks of it

I have been ripped off. The charges weren’t clear and I argued for a £100 reduction on an £800 bill and got it but it was still way too expensive to remove and replace a lock on my patio doors. I advise against using this firm.

I was really nervous after seeing some of the reviews here - my wife and kids were locked out so I didnt even think about reviews until after booking.

Was it cheap? Not really..
Was it quick and easy to arrange? Yes
Can I now get in the house without the lock, keys or door jamming? Yes

I appreciate not everyones experience will be the same but the lockmsith didnt damage anything, explained what he was doing, demonstrated the fault and fixed it within 30 minutes.

I should have read the reviews and that it is on me. Please be aware! The purpose of this company is to extort money from people in much need of a service.

They try to make me pay aprox £1700 for changing 2 locks. I went with just one instead and it got me to aprox £900.

I was honestly afraid of the bloke they sent over, being by myself at home. I have paid by card. The man was very rude, borderline agresive and gaslighted me the entire time, ignoring questions and repeating his “sales pitch”.

These are a bait and switch scam company. They quote £59 and then try and charge £1000. If you use them, don't pay or do charge back or better yet - never use them!!!

Searched on Google for a locksmith and a company pops up that connects you to locksmiths, they said they’d send someone. Google states no call-out fee and repairs from £39. No one mentioned any “special fees”.
He changed 1 part. And said they don’t have anything cheaper so it’s the only option. He was here 34 minutes and wanted £130 for labour. He added a £120 emergency call out charge. He double charged VAT for the replacement part. He said the total was £589 for 34 minutes of work and swapping 1 part,

I had to call the office 3 times and the father in law ended up speaking to the guy before they magically wiped the ridiculous fees, and it came to £286 in the end. Still ridiculously high for what he did considering a simple lock barrel ranged from £10 to maybe £70 for a decent one. But seriously be wary if dealing with this company.
