I asked for a charge to be placed on the property of someone I had lent money to, further to County Court Judgements having been obtained. I was given a quote… and one year later and no advance having been made on the case, whatsoever, was advised by a Partner that there would be further substantial costs to initiate the procedures correctly.
I have used MWB in the past for a Probate and property Conveyance in Lewes. Efficient and successful.
This time, I have seen no-one, dealt only with ParaLegals and Associate Solicitors online. Finally a Partner contacted me to ‚break‘ the news!
I await the outcome of a solution as the alternative is to approach the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority).
ps I did apply for the 20 per cent (Dis)Satisfaction Guarantee which was duly accorded. Little good has it done though!

Marika did a great job going through my settlement agreement and concluded matters swiftly. My only complaint is the fee charged for this. When you are asked 'how much is your company paying towards your legal fees', alarm bells should be ringing. If you tell the "£500", you will be charged £500 +VAT. This is an astronomical fee for very little work.

Communication was appalling which lead to an unnecessarily protracted process which we were advised would take between 12- 18 months and in fact took 2 and a half years for a relatively straightforward probate case.
Action appeared to only take place when prompted by us through emails or phone calls. A number of errors were made which delayed the process and added to the distress caused to our family.
Individually staff were friendly and pleasant however this did not diminish the distress caused to our family at what was a very difficult time.
I would suggest that clients should be contacted quarterly in probate cases with updates as this would have greatly reassured and supported us.
