During the Covid-19 pandemic we've introduced a number of changes to our business. We've endeavoured to keep most of our branches open, but some have had to close, apologies if this has caused an inconvenience. In every open branch we have reduced staff numbers to ensure social distancing is adhered too, we have also closed public areas like waiting rooms. We're encouraging customers to book and pay online to reduce the amount of personal contact required in-branch. We are also prioritising emergency and essential service vehicles. With this in place turn around times might be affected, we might be slower to answer phone calls or deal with drive ins. These are difficult times for all of us and the team at McConechys are trying to hard to provide a service, we appreciate your understanding and patients when required. Great work
I've been using McConechys for a few years now. They've never let me down and have been very professional and accommodating. My Volvo is in excellent hands with them and they keep me informed when parts and work will be arriving/completed. Since I am an NHS employee, they gave my car priority treatment and discount. Rhys and Mark are lovely and great mechanics.

Perfect, no contact just asked when I was booked in for at a distance. Receipt left in the car and tyre replaced in 20 mins.

Moaners
Had my puncture repaired but the amount of moaning I heard from a guy called Franny in Glasgow, near Celtic Park was astounding. He was moaning how a 5 min job takes him 20 I guess a way of begging for a tip. Will choose someone else next time. Additionally was told to sit and wait in the office, when I went there they rudely told me to get out because they are observing social distancing, though I had to pick up my receipt and pay in there anyway.

As I'm sure you're experiencing it's a very stressful time for everyone just now, our team included. We've kept certain branches open so key workers can keep their cars on the road, but have reduced the numbers of staff in our branches and have introduced social distancing. I can assure you no one was 'begging for a tip'. Our team are doing their best in challenging conditions, but somethings are taking longer than usual and we're trying to prioritise essential service vehicles. Our apologies if the chat from the team wasn't as upbeat and friendly as normal, but things simply aren't normal during this pandemic.
Puncture repair/Tyre left
Had a puncture in one wheel with 3 nails and a screw. Guys couldn’t offer the internet deal, so fair enough ordered tyre online. Booked it in for 09.00 Wednesday morning, went in left the tyre with them as they were busy and wouldn’t be finished the job they were working on until 9.20. So said I would pick it up later. Sent one of my guys for it at 16.30 phoned and told me it hadn’t been fitted and it hadn’t been paid for. In the end had to send the email with invoice to my guy , who then showed it to manager/employee, who then had to phone somebody else to clarify. After that was settled they fitted it in 5 mins. Also they didn’t contact at any time throughout the day to ask me any questions!

Hello Alex, we're pleased you have your tyre fixed now but disappointed you were dissatisfied with the experience, our apologies for that.
We're living in challenging times currently and trying our best to keep branches open so essential workers can remain on the road. However this does mean we have fewer staff in branches and at head office, and also have prioritise emergency fleet work. We're trying our best.

Had occasion to visit McConechys…
Had occasion to visit McConechys Saltcoats twice recently. Once for MOT and service and once for brakes. Both times faultless service. Everything done with a smile, fast efficient service. Definitely recommend.
