Insolvency - paid for treatment I am not receiving

Medbelle went into liquidation in early March. I had paid in full for surgery + aftercare, but following the surgery my aftercare treatment has abruptly stopped as the service providers aren't getting paid. To make matters worse, I'm now being chased with invoices Medbelle failed to pay, so I'll be stuck paying twice for the treatment I've received. My health and finances are both significantly worse off as a result of Medbelle's insolvency.

Left total knee replacement

Medbelle and Paddy B helped me immensely through my operation by Mr Elson, Paddy regularly reached out by phone or email on a number of times to see how I was doing and if there was anything I was concerned about or needed help with both before and after my operation thanks Paddy 👍

Medbelle, health care that listens.

It took twelve years of pain to find a knee consultant who both listened, supported and acted . It was twelve years of NHS dismissals by five GPs and two consultants who all just said I needed a new knee. Only one actually examined me and he got it wrong .
Mr Andrew Pearse listened to me and performed a multiple arthroscopy all under the supporting organisation, Medbelle. I had my own personal health adviser, Paddy, who was both professional and personable and was there to guide me through the whole process.
Six months from my operation he contacted me again and I told him I have no pain, I am active, so much so that I can travel again to far flung places as a wildlife photographer. I am no spring chicken and non of my friends and colleagues who went down the TKR path have been able to continue with wildlife photography like me.
I have nothing but praise and respect for my surgeon Andrew Pearse and thanks and gratitude to Paddy for his guidance. Thank you Medbelle

Operators Gigi and Kurt were excellent…

Operators Gigi and Kurt were excellent and very polite. Top marks for these individuals. Sadly they were unable to facilitate my condition / issue without a 'step back' in the process, which isn't their fault at all, more a process issue. 5* for the operators. 3* for process.

Medbelle expertly handled the…

Medbelle expertly handled the administrative aspects of my hip surgery. Mathew Hanlon promptly and efficiently addressed all of my questions. During my consultation, Mr. White, the surgeon, reassured me about the procedure, and along with his team, ensured the operation was a great success.

Ankle surgery

Matt guided me through from start to finish and was absolutely amazing , arranging the surgeon DR Syed with my appointments and also in regular contact to see how I was doing, I felt like I was in the right hands and was never left with any kind of doubt, I really do appreciate what was done for me , thank you so much.

Great service

Matthew Hanlon has been brilliant. Always calls when he says he will and even every now and then just to check in. You never feel like you have to chase him up, everything is done so smoothly, it's like he's on the journey with you! Can't fault his professionalism.

Surgical errors

I was a private patient and underwent bilateral simultaneous knee replacement in January 2025 with Dr. Johnathon White at The Fitzwilliam Hospital in Peterborough. While he agreed to perform this complex surgery, the outcome left me with a severe knock-knee deformity, which I did not have before. Dr. White admitted he misaligned the tibial component, explaining this caused the knock-knee. When standing, my knees touch, but my feet are more than 8 cm apart.
One year on, my walking steadiness is significantly worse than before surgery, and I continue to experience pain and limitations in daily life. Revision surgery has been recommended, but the hospital has refused to provide this necessary follow-up care.
Prospective patients should be aware of the risks, ask detailed questions about alignment and post-operative support, and understand how complications are handled. In my experience, these complications have had a lasting impact on mobility, stability, and overall quality of life.

Great support from Matthew, I was clear on the process the whole way through and when there was a query from the hospital they picked it up and sorted it. Made the whole experience a lot less stressful.

Total hip replacement

I had a very painful hip and the waiting time for NHS treatment was 45 weeks - I could not wait that long as the pain was getting worse by the day - I therefore had to arrange private treatment. I contacted Cameron at Medbelle and within a week I had an appointment with Jonathan White and six weeks later I had a new Hip. The cost was worth every penny as I can now get on with my life with no pain at all. Cameron has been fantastic all through this process both before my operation and the follow up afterwards. The medical team led by Jonathan White were superb through the whole process. I am so thankful for the treatment I have received.

Medbelle is an excellent Hospital group,that are excellent of providing excellent service and care to patients. Paddy one of the staff members,was always informative and touched base with me every step of the way , leaping up to my operation and after. 5 star service. Also,like to thank Mr Gulihar and he's team for carrying out the operation,providing a really excellent care ,relaxed and smooth operation. All this made me at ease and reinsured. Thanks again Billy

Medbelle were great from the word go

Medbelle were great from the word go. They supported me right from initial consultation prior to surgery, through the surgery and the recovery afterwards.
My Surgeon Mr Ziad Harb was exceptional, so reassuring and professional.
Paddy my Medbelle contact was fantastic throughout the whole experience, checking in and answering any queries that I had.
I cannot recommend Medbelle enough it made my recovery as positive as it could be.
