Blatant scam

The dress I received is nothing like the dress I ordered. Mermaidway is a blatant scam.
Every aspect of the dress I received is different than the one pictured on the listing of the website including the material, color, quality, and finish/sheen.

They will NOT refund you back on the original payment method, only in terms of credit to their fraudulent store.

Really upsetting.

Unfortunately this is such an upsetting experience. You see nice photos on the website. And the impulse is to go and purchase it and after arrives it’s such a disappointment after disappointment. Don’t waste your time. Fabric it’s terrible, size it’s a mess and not worth at all.

We’re sorry about the delivery trouble. Per our email thread, the carrier shows your two dresses as “Delivered” to the checkout address, and we shared the tracking, delivery scan, and photos.

When this happens, we immediately help with a carrier investigation and can reship with signature confirmation or to a secure pickup point. Please reply with your preference (replacement with signature/secure pickup) or the carrier case number so we can finalize the claim. If the package has since turned up, let us know and we’ll still assist with any issues.

This company is a joke

This company is a joke. Their policy states that if it doesn’t fit as expected and returned within 14 days you can get refund or exchange, but they have now stated that the policy “clearly” states fit problems is store credit only. Which is a LIE. The dress came from China although the website shows Florida. I paid $150 and it came in a plastic bag and VERY VERY cheaply made could have got better quality from SHEIN, Fashion Nova or Temu. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Our Return Process specifies: “Once your return is processed at our warehouse (typically within 3–7 days from the date it is received), we will immediately issue a refund in the form of store credit… Refunds are only provided as store credit (Mermaid Way e-gift card).” Kindly note that “return” and “refund” are two different steps in this process: a return is sending the item back to us, and a return by itself does not mean a monetary refund. The “refund” step describes how value is issued after the return—per our policy, this is issued as store credit.
As a courtesy, we emailed you 7 days ago offering a refund instead of store credit, along with a free prepaid return label. We haven’t received a reply.
Regarding quality: We take this seriously. We previously requested photos of the dress and packaging to assess the issues you mentioned, but we haven’t received them yet. Please email the photos to support@mermaidway.com so our quality control team can review and address this promptly. Product images on our website are representative of the actual items. Colors, materials, and specifications are accurately described and match the products you receive. Minor color variations may occur due to display settings.
On shipping origin: Our business operates from Florida and, like many brands, we use multiple warehousing and logistics partners, which can include international facilities. Over 98% of clothing sold in the U.S. is imported.

Scammer

Scammer. I bought one dress and a simple top for $160, and they both look like Halloween costumes. They don't even provide me with an order number when the order is processed. There is no way you can return them. This company needs to be shut down.

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company! I tried to post a review on their website as a warning to other potential customers, but they didn't end up posting it. I bought this dress to wear to a wedding and it was too big for me. The quality of this dress was also extremely disappointing - the materials were cheap, threads hanging off and the straps were flimsy. It took almost 3 weeks for the order to arrive because it came from China. The return process (where you can pay for your own postage or be charged $10 for a return label) was also annoying and misleading. They do not issue refunds to your original form of payment - only refunds for store credit. So now I'm stuck with store credit that I do not plan on using and am out $166. What a scam!

I ordered four dresses from them and only received three. The quality is cheap and they are nothing like the pictures shown on their website. They also do not offer a refund just store credit which is horrible because I will never be ordering from this website ever again. Buyer beware!

They are scammers! Do not order anything from them! They are sending cheap 1 dollar Chinese dresses, horrible quality and huge size! Not even matching on photos! I ordered 4 dresses which cost me 500 USD and get absolutely trash! You even can’t wear them! Stay away!!

Awful- The swimsuits are thin and terrible quality for the price. Sizes are all over the place with one piece that I ordered being huge (was even too big for my husband!) but I ordered an extra small.
No returns and if you try to escalate to return they try and charge you a $10 restocking fee.
Terrible brand and customer service.

This company does not let you post a negative review on their website. Also they don’t include hip measurements when you’re buying a dress because I ended up having to exchange a dress for a larger size and it still wouldn’t fit. At this point I just refuse to pay another shipping label to return the dress and am stuck with a useless $100+ dress that is unflattering on me.
Update: they just flagged this review for having defamatory content on it so I had to adjust my original review. I also realized they erased my instagram comment warning others. This company really is deceitful and I wish I would’ve known that before I spent my money here.

This is the worst company

This is the worst company. I literally never write reviews but I’m beyond disappointed in their “policy” and customer service. I for one ordered a bikini that was so cute in the photo and once I received it it looked so different. The material was not swimwear material and was cheaply made compared to the way the photo is advertised. It fit me horribly and I decided to reach out to customer service to see what I can do about returning the item. I let them know that I did not remove the panty liner and that I tried it on it did not fit and they told me they’re policy is no refunds no exchanges.. I asked them to speak to a supervisor because I spent $100 on the bikini and am unable to wear it or even salvage it somehow and they ignored me for a couple weeks. I’ve then attempted to reach out again and somebody else told me that unfortunately they couldn’t help me because I already passed the 14 day window for returns.. I was very confused because that’s not what the first person said.. I then sent them screenshots of my messages from a month ago with the last customer representative and let them know that I emailed them a month ago and those are the responses that I got and then when I asked to speak to supervisor nobody responded.. they then went on to send me this…

scam

scam. they don’t put up bad reviews and don’t refund you sipping + charge you to return. I bought a dress and it was not as advertised. the zipper was supposed to be on the back but it was on the side. the material felt like costume material and was completely see through. i am writing to warn potential customers. i wish i would’ve done more research on this site :(

The “bathing suit” I ordered came out to be a bodysuit that I can’t wear as a bathing suit because of the snap at the bottom. It had a hole in it once it arrived. I actually hate the item. Scammed out of 75 dollars for a piece of fabric. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

Whatever you do, DO NOT order from Mermaid Way! Guaranteed the item will not fit and when you return, you pay for shipping and they will refuse to refund you. This company is awful to deal with. Save yourself the time and money.
