Appreciate your feedback and it's unfortunate you were charged such high duty, although this is likely due to the significant volatility around tariffs and duties in the US currently.
Duties, import taxes and fees are entirely out of our control and do not go to us - they are levied by the buyer's respective country.
We clearly state on product pages, at checkout and in our delivery FAQ that duties, fees and import taxes are solely the buyer's responsibility.
Regarding your call, our lines are open Monday - Friday 10:00 to 15:00 GMT. If you called from the US, you would need to have added the country code for number to have worked.

Fantastic customer service
Had an issue with the wrong address being given at order check out, Muay Thailand UK responded promptly and efficiently by contacting the delivery service to ensure it would arrive the next day; which it did. They reassured me at every turn, and the item arrive in brand new condition. Fantastic communication and customer service, can't praise these guys enough. They now have a new loyal customer.

We try to make it clear on each product page whether the goods will come from our UK or Thai warehouse. Unfortunately for you, as you're outside the UK, it seems you would have been charged duties by your local authority regardless of whether they came from the UK or Thailand.

Very accommodating
Very accommodating, fast and friendly experience! Defiantly going to be my go to whenever I need any more gear. I went for the Boon gloves and shin guards and have used them a couple times already quality is amazing.
