Music Teachers @ MusicTeacher.com Avis

My son has been learning with Andy for over three years and absolutely loves his lessons. He really responds to Andy’s teaching style and loves the music he picks. His guitar lesson is a highlight of his week. Thanks Andy!

Andy is an excellent and imaginative guitar teacher who has taught our son for three years now. During this time he has really brought the instrument to life for our son and this has coincided with a much wider interest in music generally for him. Very highly recommended.

Andrea was my guitar teacher for 8 years. He helped me prepare up to grade 5 in ABRSM. He was amazing in practicing pieces, and preparing me for the exams and concerts. His lessons were fun and I always was looking forward to the lessons. I am hoping in some time I would like to restart some lessons with him based on rock.

Andrea is an excellent guitar teacher. He’s taught my son from the ages 7-15. He has the ability to relate to the student at different ages. He is also very patient. My son accomplished his ABRSM grades successfully. During COVID times we switched to on line lessons and he was as dedicated and able to communicate as effectively as in person lessons. He is very accomplished as a guitar player himself and a wonderful person.

Andy is a brilliant teacher for our teenage daughter. He is seriously talented, able to teach her seemingly any piece she chooses, with no notice! She loves her lessons & her technique has improved no end.

Sam, 14 y.o. I have been taking lessons from Andy for almost two years and in this time I have made such progress I did not expect. I improved drastically my legato and sweep picking, timing and picking hand tightness. Progress aside he is just scarily good. He has both great technique and feel, which is something you don’t find too often. He is a great teacher, very patient and helpful and well as being a really nice person overall.

Have been working with Tom for around a year now. He really knows his stuff. Material that felt completely impossible when I started he’s made well within comfort. As someone who had lots of experience singing in ensembles but not much technical knowledge, he’s taught me an invaluable amount, both practically but also anatomically. I started with a chest voice and a falsetto, feeling like as a baritone most of contemporary MT was off limits; I wasn’t even sure a mix was a thing until I turned up to Tom. Brilliant at diagnosing room for improvement, he’s given me personally tailored exercises and I’ve felt I’ve had everything I need to keep working on things.

Tom is a professional actor and very very talented singer himself, which means he’s often busy. So whilst timetabling is occasionally difficult, that’s exactly what makes him such a privilege to have. He knows his craft and consistently working himself means he always fresh ideas for others. He really is TOP class.

Singers in Guildford are lucky to have him on their doorstep!

I honestly can’t recommend Tom enough. I’ve been working with him for about 10 years now, and the impact he’s had on my life and career has been huge. He didn’t just help me develop my voice as a singer — he helped guide me in the overall direction of my professional career.

Tom is incredibly kind, genuine, and someone who truly cares about the people he works with. Over the years he’s supported me through so many stages of my journey, not just with singing, but with advice, encouragement, and helping me make the right decisions for my career.

What I appreciate most is how much he genuinely believes in his students. That kind of support makes a massive difference, especially when you’re trying to find your way in the industry. I’m really grateful for everything he’s done for me and for the foundation he’s helped me build.

If you’re looking for a teacher who is not only amazing at what he does but also truly invested in your growth as a person and a professional, Tom is the one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tom is a fantastic singing teacher who I'd highly recommend. I've been having lessons with him for about a year now, and the improvement I've felt has been brilliant — not just technically, but in my confidence as a singer, which for me has been just as important. He's encouraging, and genuinely fun to learn from — lessons never feel like a chore. As someone with a pretty hectic schedule that involves a lot of travel, I've really appreciated how flexible and accommodating he is with bookings, always finding a way to make things work around my availability. If you're looking for a teacher who makes you feel at ease while actually helping you progress, I'd highly recommend giving Tom a try.

Tom is the best singing teacher I have met! I’ve been using his exercises for 4 years now which has helped me recover completely from vocal surgery. I have had quite a few singing teachers at my time through 2 different drama schools and no one compares to Tom. He is incredibly knowledgeable about singing technique and vocal recovery but not only that he really cares and makes you think that anything is possible when it comes to your voice. He is such a great support and I would not be where I am today without his help !

Tom is the best teacher I’ve ever had. Efficient, knowledgable, tailored exercises that have transformed my voice!

I am a tutor that has recently joined this site, I've been teaching piano, singing and music theory for many years and am used to unreliable students on other tutor websites cancelling last minute, not paying and not taking lessons seriously.

I've been very impressed that the people reaching out to me so far on musicteacher.com have had a genuine interest in learning music, have been reliable and are local to my area (other sites have not been good at this).

I encourage more tutors to use this platform.

Andy Basiola is a great guitar teacher. I've been taking lessons with him for many years and he is patient, knowledgeable and very competent.

I have been taught by Neil Morton for many years. He is outstanding. Patient, kind and highly knowledgable in all aspects of music from theory to sight-reading and repertoire.

Although I have only had two sessions with Mr Kwabla Amenya so far, I can already tell that he’s a great coach. I knew I had a problem that needs to be worked on but I couldn’t really pinpoint the exact issue and it only took two meetings and a vocal test for him to determine what my weakness was and how to strengthen it and I believe that finding the exact problem is an important step to finding the solution to it. I’m really excited to work with him and I look forward to becoming the best version of myself musically through his guidance.

I learnt a lot from the lessons I had with Tom Hier and noticed big improvements in my voice! Unfortunately he was unreliable, spoke disrespectfully about students, and cancelled lessons frequently so I chose to end early. His prices would frequently change just before we were about to start lessons and/or he would try and reduce time offered from 45 mins to 35 mins last minute.

I think he would be great to work with for non-professionals who have lots of flexibility in their diaries, and anyone who wants to get into the acting industry/work in the west end/broadway would greatly benefit from his experience. Unfortunately Tom’s approach to booking the lessons and his attitude towards students just didn’t work for me.
