Does not have a refund policy

Six weeks ago I ordered an insect screens. I asked my builder to measure the window frame according to the instructions. It took over 4 weeks for the screen to arrive. I attempted to call them several times to enquire why I had not received my order using two different numbers on the website, each time I was referred to the website. When the screen arrived it was 10mm too wide. I contacted them to let them know and initially they responded asking me to send pictures, which I did, they sent an additional email implying they would arrange to have the screen picked up by courier. I responded that I would like a full refund because the screen is not fit for purpose. I have been waiting for over a week for them to respond. Unfortunately, it seems they are not willing to take responsibility for their error. I am contacting my credit card company as well exercising my legal options. I absolutely do not recommend this company, it seems they are only interested in your money. Customer care and satisfaction is not important to them. Read other comments and reviews before you use this company.

I can see that your screen was ordered on the 1st August, and was delivered on the 26th August. This is 15 working days.

Our advertised lead time at the point in time when you placed your order was 10-12 working days. I do agree that the order was late, and I apologise for this. However, I would just like to clarify that the screen did not take over 4 weeks to arrive.

You are correct that during busy periods, we do have an automated phone message which directs customers to email our customer services team (customer.services@newblinds.co.uk) to receive the fastest response to delivery queries. We also have live chat via our website for a quick response. I can see that you have received prompt responses to any correspondence with the customer services team.

In relation to the sizes of your screen. I have reviewed your case and our correspondence with you.

Whilst we have suggested that collection for a inspection / refund would be possible, we have first asked you to provide specific information which you have not provided. This is why the collection has not taken place as yet.

You have mentioned that your builder has advised you that the screen is 10mm wider than the sizes he provided to you.

I can see that you have supplied a photo of the screen laid out in your window recess. However, this photo does not demonstrate that the screen supplied is bigger than the size that you have ordered, only that it is bigger than your window recess.

Looking at the photo, it would seem that the screen is more than 10mm wider than your recess.

Your screen was ordered with screw holes and brackets that would allow recess fixing, but you have supplied your sizes as 'blind size' rather than recess size, which may be a contributing factor.

As requested, it would be really useful to receive from you the actual size of the cassette, measured from end to end, with a tape measure and preferably a photo to illustrate this.

If your screen has been ordered incorrectly, we'd be happy as a gesture of good will to adjust the sizing for you. If we have made it incorrectly, then we can discuss whether a refund or correction and discount would be preferable.

However, as mentioned, we do need confirmation at this stage what manufactured size we are working with.

Received our blinds and they were the…

Received our blinds and they were the wrong size. Ordered a blind at 300cm and they sent me a 30cm blind. The quality of them also isn’t great and the turning handles on them are really poor quality.

I’d much rather a full refund and to send them back but by reading the t&cs this wouldn’t be an option.

I can see that you have been in touch regarding the size error on one of the seven blinds that you have ordered.

Please accept our apologies for this. It appears that this is a data entry error on the part of our supplier on receipt of the order. This is being rectified for you.

I note that you have raised the issue of the tilt handle. What I would say is that the venetian blind that we offer is of a specification that around 90% of the industry use for 25mm aluminium venetian blinds.

The majority of aluminium venetian blinds sold in the UK come with a transparent plastic tilt rod, which may seem quite light weight, but it is designed to be unobtrusive. I assume this is the component that you are referring to.

I am out of the office today and tomorrow. However, should you wish to send me any further detail of your concerns, I'd be happy to receive them.

Great Product, easy to fit.

The order process was very easy, the quality and fit of the product was excellent. The only reason they dropped a star is the delivery time was longer than first advised. But I understand they are working on and are actively improving this issue. I would use again as the communication was good when asked about the delivery.

Fitting the blind for the skylight was…childs play

Fitting the blind for the skylight was very simple as long as you followed the intruction. The video they supply to help went a long way too.
Works as promised and discribed and at a price and quality you cannot complain about, not cheap but not expensive either.

Order for blind and flyscreen placed on 22nd August. Flyscre5was delivered promptly.
3 weeks later the blind has still not been dispatched.

The fly screen was advertised on a lead time of 2-3 working days, hence this arrived quickly.

The other product was advertised at 12-15 working days, which is up to 3 weeks, which is why this blind took longer. It has been dispatched today.

Taking into account weekends and bank holidays, Monday will be the 15th working day. So your blind will be delivered within the quoted lead time.

Fly free zone!

Everything was as promised. Notified 2 days before delivery and on the day of delivery with options for not being home. They allow us to leave French doors open and not be bothered by flies. Allows you to see out and sort of finishes the doors. Good quality.

Great product

Great product. But what a knightmare getting it !! First of all it seems all the staff either left or went on holiday for the summer, there busiest time, we were informed of this delay, fare enough, we all need a holiday. First they sent the wrong size blind , 400mm to long and after checking, not my mistake. Then they sent the correct width blind, which was great but no side runners, so I had to contact them again to send them . This whole process took two months . Then the company specify that their goods can't be left at your front door, which you kind of understand but if you're at work all day you miss the delivery's, ( they only do three) so you have to do the 30 minite drive to the package centre, so yes I had to do this three times , In total three hours of driving .
Do I need more blinds , yes , Will I be ordering from them , No .
The only plus point is the lady answering the emails , she is very prompt and helpful.

Extremely disappointing experience - wish I’d gone elsewhere

I ordered three custom blinds and a remote from NewBlinds.co.uk and have had a very poor experience from start to finish.

The website promised delivery in 3–4 working days, but the blinds took weeks to arrive with no dispatch confirmation and multiple emails required just to get a basic update. When they did arrive, the blinds were incorrectly sized (despite me providing accurate recess measurements), making them unusable for the intended windows. On top of that, the quality was disappointing – frayed fabric edges and uneven cuts.

To make matters worse, I also ordered a remote over a month ago, and despite chasing several times, I’ve still not received it. No tracking information has ever been provided and communication has been very slow throughout.

I really wanted to support a smaller business, but this whole process has been frustrating, time-consuming and disappointing. I’ve had to try and repurpose some of the blinds elsewhere in the house just to salvage something from the order. No resolution was offered apart from ordering more blinds at a discounted rate.

Based on my experience, I can’t recommend this company and wouldn’t use them again.

I'm disappointed to receive this feedback for a number of reasons.

I acknowledge that the blinds were late in arriving and we were in communication about this with you.

The blinds were advertised with 3-4 working day delivery and were dispatched on the 6th working day. One of the boxes was then misrouted by DX and arrived later than the other.

I understand that delivery was later than promised and I apologise. My team assisted as best as they could with the DX issues.

Once the blinds had been delivered, we received your emails regarding the sizes and quality issues.

We asked to collect the blinds so that they could be checked for size and amended/remade if required.

However, you proposed keeping them and repurposing them.

You also suggested that this being the case, we could offer a discount on further blinds.

Your review is misleading because it implies that we refused to address the issue that you raised, and this is not the case at all.

In relation to the handset, I can see the factory dispatched the item to you, but it wasn't received. They have dispatched a second one to you by royal mail and my colleague Anna will send you the tracking information.

As mentioned above, we'd be happy to check and resolve any issues with the blinds. This offer is still open. But I would like to emphasise that you declined this solution in the first instance.

I will make contact with you directly to assess the best way forwards.

Albeit some miscommunication regarding delivery date which was resolved efficiently & expediently, everything went smoothly, we received everything we ordered which was of good quality, fit perfectly and works superbly. excellent service.
