We love our Northbound gear - my husband and I wear our Adventure pants every day for xc skiing and they are amazingly warm in our harsh winters and very waterproof.

Preparing for a future trip to Iceland brought me Northbound Gear's website and their products geared to exploring the outdoors. For Christmas presents for myself and my husband, I had purchased both Mens and Womens Apex jackets, Adventure pants and the Mens Summer zip-off pants. While there were small issues with my orders, Kelly and the Customer Service Team went above and beyond correcting a defective item and exchanging another. My review is coming well after receiving their products due to actually using them over our harsh Ontario winter. The Apex jackets were perfect- the weight, advertised functions (weather and waterproof) and fit for both my husband I (we're tall!) were perfect. All of it. We both love our Adventure pants. After exchanging the original Womens to the new high waisted option in Womens Tall, I'm in love and CAN NOT wait to take them out on winter adventures in Iceland in November!
Overall- amazing service with amazing products for this West coast Canadian company!

I bought a pair of adventure pants a while back after seeing them in my facebook feed. I was a little concerned ordering a pair sight unseen from 13000km away. No need. Great product, exactly as described. It’s winter over here so just ordered another pair so I can stay warm more. Highly recommend this gear and the service of the guys at Northbound.

Exceptional well fitting clothes made for a work environment like mine. Construction. The fit and quality is exceptional and one of each will not be enough.

The poor reviews have to do mostly with delivery. Folks, this ain't Amazon. I believe they stated in a review they are a small family company. I have their summer and winter pants, jacket.. have recommended to friends.. they are a great product, great service and a small business. Did I mention they are not Amazon, AND I don't want them to be.

This review is as much about the exceptional customer service I received after my purchase as it is about the product. I'm genuinely thrilled with both!

I originally ordered the "tall" version of the Women's Adventurer pants, thinking that they would fit short like most pants I buy. However, I would've been good with the regular fit because "tall" was definitely too long! So I returned them only to realize that the size was also too large (these pants actually fit true to North American sizing and I shouldn't have tried to second-guess the fit) ... and ended up returning the pants a second time, for a smaller size!

At the end of the day, it took a couple of months to sort everything out (including a third faux pas and the ever-sloth-like efforts of Canada Post) but despite the circumstances, the CS team was always positive and helpful.

I was beginning to feel somewhat regretful of making the purchase because it took forever to receive my pants (yep, bought 2 colors) but, after two returns, I'm THRILLED with the fit and quality of my pants! I don't regret the buy at all. And, I'm thankful for the positive communication from customer support every step along the way. Great product. Great staff. I also love their commitment to eco-friendly products and social initiatives. Yes, my experience has made me a genuinely happy camper!

The pants are okay but definitely not waterproof as advertised. I wrote a detailed review on their website describing the issues, and the review was never published. That in itself is not cool, even if the products were perfect. In light of my own review being suppressed (and knowing the product), I suspect that some of the over-the-top reviews on their site are fake and/or paid for.

Ordered $200 worth of clothes on March 3rd. Still hasn't arrived. Reading the other comments, I realize that I have been scamed. Company does not have inventory. Take your money is a minute and after 6 weeks still nothing to show for it. Contacted them and got the same excuses as others. The fine print in the FAQ's say 6 week delivery. What a rip off. My hike was last week. Suspect they pay for positive reviews. No-one who actually paid money can endorse this garbage company.

Northbound has excellent products! I have worn their pants now for a full year in New Brunswick where we have the extremes of each season. This past weekend I wore the pants on a very windy, rainy day along the Bay of Fundy. I had a pair of leggings on underneath & was warm as toast!!! My jacket was drenched right through but my PANTS from Northbound kept me warm & dry while walking on the beach! LOVE THESE COMFORTABLE STRETCHY PANTS!!!!

Ordered a backpack back in November after a 6 week delay it finally arrived only to have a zipper pull break on first use. I contacted the company and almost 3 months and many emails and calls later I am still waiting for an answer on whether or not they will fix it. Since then a second pull has broken and ‘waterproof’ zips and bag (as stated on their website) have proved not to be waterproof. Incredibly disappointing product quality and incredibly disappointing customer service.

I ordered a back pack and was charged on Feb 7. Still have not received the item. I wrote to the company on Feb 24 and received a response saying they were looking into the issue and would get back to me. Today is March 20! i NEVER HAVE RECEIVED THE ITEM OR ANY FOLLOW UP INFORMATION. i AM NOW TRYING TO CANCEL AND WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO FILE A DISPUTE WITH THE CREDIT CARD COMPANY. i SURE DO NOT WANT made in china CRAP, i THOUGHT i WAS BUYING SOMETHING MADE IN cANADA.

The quality of their clothing is excellent, well made and the fit is great. One item was returned since I put the wrong size in the order and the replacement was delivered in reasonable time. I also appreciate that they kept in touch with me regarding the orders. Prices were excellant. The winter outdoor pants are nice and warm with plenty of belt loops. Would not hesitate to order from them again.

First, I don't believe this is a Canadian company. They have no inventory in Canada and all their good is shipped from China. In addition, they have the worst customer service I have ever seen. They throw endless hurdles to you to avoid dealing with issues. You call..good luck if they pick up the phone. You write email...crickets. Their chat line is useless. I tried to return miss-sized pants since yesterday. I am a heartbeat away reaching out to PayPal. The real kicker is that the pants are really nice. It is a shame that they portray themselves as Canadian when their business ethics are in no ways are those we have in this country. This is a real case of Caveat Emptor. BTW I find all the positive reviews very suspicious since they seem to follow several negative ones... I did flag to them the fact that they receive a lot of complaints on this site about the same issues....did not seem to phase "Jamie"(as if it is her real name)

Terrible terrible terrible. Absolute junk and poor customer service. I will never recommend or buy from this company ever again, nor ever recommend it to anyone. Northbound gear products are made in crappy China.
Go to Walmart or Fred Meyer for better quality and certainly better pricing. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
