Unclear instructions and poor customer service communication. I was sent an email to update my details, which stated I should send a proof of address in the form of either a utility bill, bank statement or council tax. I sent my utility bill and the customer service rep was now demanding i send an ID, of which it was never stated in their email communication. Even after explaining the email never stated that, she ignored my response, and then i sent a follow-up email, in which she was now rudely demanding the ID. This is terrible!!!

This is a fraudulent and racist company that won't even look into the verification of your identity if your name sounds foreign and African, and lies that they are working on it. I submitted my driving licence and bank statement for them to do KYC, and they have ghosted me for over a month. Clowns.

Sent money to an account. The money never got delivered. They claim the bank rejected the transaction. Its been 5 days now. The only reply I get is that they are working on it. Money has gone missing. Complete Fraud.

Never had such a frustrating experience as this. Transferred funds from my UK account to make a payment to another account only to be informed my account has restrictions placed on it without any prior notification of this.
I had to then do another KYC which meant although OhentPay accepted my funds, I could not access or even transfer the funds back for over 24 hours. I asked for the complaint process and until now, I have been ignored. When my account was reinstated, I just moved the money back as I have lost any confidence to do business via this app. The customer service team responses were like robotic responses throughout. I could possibly expose the practices to my wider community.
Restriction was only removed on 8/10/2025 after over 24 hours. Unacceptable service. If you can inform that restriction has been removed, why couldn't you inform me that the restriction was going to be applied so I don't put funds in the account.

I funded my account yesterday morning (29 September 2025) and wanted to use the money to pay workers but I could not. I kept receiving a message indicating that I am currently restricted from making payments. I sent an email to their support and was then informed that I needed to submit documents showing proof of my address before my account restriction can be lifted. I have been through this verification process before. Nevertheless, I immediately submitted two of the three documents they requested. They responded confirming that the documents were accepted and that their team will resolve the issue shortly. As at this morning, after 24 hours, the restriction has still not been lifted. I have since sent several emails but they refused to respond even as I write this review. Whilst I acknowledge the importance of undertaking regular customer reviews, but at no point was I informed of this ongoing review. Had I know, I would have ensured the review was completed before funding my account. It would seem that there are many other customers who have been placed in this precarious situation. I find this unacceptable and an abuse of trust. I requested that my money be refunded to the original account while the so called review is in progress and this request was also ignored. I strongly encourage customers not to fund their accounts with OhentPay until this so called review is concluded or they are able to resolve all pending issues with their customers. I am very disappointed and distressed by their actions.

OhentPay is quick to play the good cop on review sites, but behind the scenes, they ignore emails and fail to return customers’ money.
Despite their public reply to my last review, my emails to their Complaints team have gone unanswered for over two (2) weeks. I do not rate their Support team as they are unprofessional and all they send is nothing but pre-written, robotic scripts, no real answers, no action, and no accountability.
The 8–12 week refund timeline they [OhentPay] themselves quoted has long expired. Yet they refuse to provide a reason for the delay in refunding me, an updated timeline, or even a valid UK / EU finacial services Regulation, Act, or Directive that references the mysterious “extended regulatory review” their x.com handler claims is holding my refund, despite a full account review and confirmed closure.
At this point, OhentPay’s behavior feels evasive, unprofessional, and worryingly close to financial misconduct. Customers deserve transparency and timely refunds, not excuses and silence.
It is troubling, and frankly hard to understand why their directors, Emmanuel Ogbodo and Obinna Williams Edoga, would allow such practices to continue under their watch.
OhentPay: stop hiding behind scripted responses and process the refund you owe.

This company has all the red flags. Why would you hold someone's money and ask them to bring the senders ID. It's the sending bank's responsibility to carry out such checks.
As a sender, why would I send my ID (like passport) to a receiver who I may not even trust with my passport details.
Back to the verification, why is it taking a wee to carry out basic verification that other companies complete in 5 minutes.

How do you deal with a customer for about 5 years and then start reviewing the person. Does it mean you lack transparency, integrity and accountability before approving a customer / client for transaction in the first place.
Other agencies carry out review for regulatory purposes from the on set. Then after you carried out the review, just few months ago (28 May 2025), I sent another money today (5 Sep 2025), you started carrying out review again, causing loses and emergency 🆘 to the people who ought to have received and use the money.
Yet, you do not have a complaint mechanism or process because I complained last but you did not follow it up or process it.
Why do you hold your customers hostage or to ransom unnecessarily.
