Ome Avis 40

My Ome arrived safely and beautifully packaged. Product is well produced and looks good, clean lines and modern. Set up easy to follow and staff very helpful if you have any queries. Easy, safe way to keep in touch with anyone at your door wherever you are.

A very well designed and considered product. The battery life on the buzzer last for ages and not having to hardwire it made it very easy to install straight from the box.

I like the concept. Easy to install, good app. It feels it is a little slow because when I’m rung up the visitor already have started to walk away. And often hard to hear the voice of the visitor.

I was annoyed that just after my purchase, the price was dropped considerably. When I complained, I was suggested to send the product back fir a return then purchase again. I didn’t because I felt I should have gotten the difference returned without any shipment.

Delivery took ages (years), and when it finally arrived it did two things badly:
1. It was no longer on par with current devices (e.g. nest Ring)
2. The sound quality was bad and therefore mostly unusable

Because of this I removed the device after a few days and have not used again

Has not been working as expected, there is a lag on the ringing and on the communication. There afe better versions out there. I’m sad because it seemed to be a good idea but now I’m thinking of removing it

It's a clear and easy to use product with exemplary support from the company

Internet connection sometimes too fragile and non-reliable although very close to the router. Otherwise a great product.

Really haven't gotten it to work consistently.

To be honest this is a review of the product, not the company. It simply does not work properly nor is it what I backed originally.

Battery does not last long can't get bell to stop rigning on phone without answering it (Like theres no decline or stop button). Even when answered it still keeps ringing sometimes. Also can't talk to anyone through it they can hear me but I can't hear them! Wish I never spent so much money on this. We have to buy a new doorbell.

Great! doorbell. Being able to speak to those at the door on your phone when away from the house is incredibly time saving and helpful.....

Constant reboots of chime as it drops connection.
Ome Calls do not connect on anything other than home WiFi.
Wish I had held out for the Nest Hello....

Always needs charging. Often does't ring and only sometimes shows up on my iPhone. I'm not sure if one is supposed to be able to speak and hear on the outside unit. If so, it barely works and is pretty much impossible to understand.

Works sometimes and not other. Very disappointing product and not fit for purpose.

Load of rubbish chucked mine in the bin buy Ring instead and get proper door bell.

Ok where to start. Keeps going off line. But far worse the locking screw. Oh the locking screw. It’s too big for the hole so when I put it in it’s stripped the top of it and have no idea how I am going to undo it when the battery goes flat !!!!!!

The bell came almost two years late. During that time waiting I bought another bell, a "Ring", which was cheaper, worked far better, and also had video and many other peripherals, plus was much easier to set up. I do think that the Ding is attractive which is the only reason that I am giving it two stars rather than one.

Product looks very good. Connection is poor even with good wifi signal and connection with doorbell and chime is too delayed. Same goes for voice enabling.

For a British startup a fraction of the size of the big global tech companies, the support from the Ome/Ding team following the purchase has been great. We were told to expect a few teething issues to begin with for the Android app and these have been solved.
