A Truly Professional Experience

It was great doing business with Kev, Jamie and Sylvia at Orbit Solar in Sheffield. Today I purchased a 5 Year Gold Service Plan on my home solar system. Kev explained most clearly that I will be entitled to two call outs per year over the 5 year period. It is a great deal. I paid £1995. There will be no more to pay. My payment covers the Solar Panels, the Inverter, All cables, the AC isolators, the DC Isolators and the Generation Meter. All parts that become faulty will be either repaired or replaced without any further costs. There will be no shipping costs for faulty or replacement parts and no call out or labour charges. Great to do such business and I thoroughly recommend them.

Unsolicited marketing ignoring the TPS

Rung me with an unsolicited marketing call despite my number being TPS registered. I told them I don't buy or sell at the door or via marketing calls. I'm clearly not the only person they are trying this with having seen other feedback.

We do TPS screen our data every 28 days as per ICO regulations and it would appear a technical issue allowed your number through to our staff. We have ensured this will not happen again.

Perfect

We had a fantastic experience with Orbit Solar. Kev was our initial point of contact and he was superb—knowledgeable without being pushy, and genuinely interested in what would work best for us. He even took the time to explain the difference between various inverter options in plain English, which really helped us make an informed decision.

The installation itself was seamless. Calum and Mark were prompt, professional and treated our home with respect, laying down sheets to protect the floors and cleaning up thoroughly afterwards. They even walked us through the monitoring app and showed us how to track our generation and battery use.

A lot of companies talk a good game but Orbit Solar delivered. The aftercare has also been excellent. I’ve already recommended them to family and friends.

Fantastic Service

We’ve just had Orbit Solar fit a complete solar panel and battery system at our home, and I can’t praise them highly enough. From the moment Andy came round to discuss our options, we felt no pressure at all. Just clear, honest advice tailored to what we actually needed rather than what was most expensive.

Once we decided to go ahead, the communication was brilliant. We knew exactly when the installation would happen and what to expect. On the day, Calum and Mark turned up right on time and were polite, friendly, and very tidy in their work. The whole job was completed in a single day and the system has been performing flawlessly.

I’m delighted with the savings we’re already seeing and it’s good to know we’re doing our bit for the environment. Highly recommend Orbit Solar for anyone thinking about making the switch.

Very Unhappy customer.

I am writing this to stop any unsuspecting person calling this company in to put in a battery. I already had a system and they assured me they could add another battery. WELL, two months on, they have attempted to put a battery in, and guess what, they found they can't. But my own battery now does not work and I have had no help in sorting it. For two months my battery has not been connected and so I am losing all of the power I am generating. My original company are trying to sort it but they are reluctant to get involved.

We are very sorry to hear that you’ve had a negative experience and appreciate the opportunity to respond.

We would like to clarify that during our visit, no changes were made to your existing battery system. As discussed prior to the visit, we were attending to assess the feasibility of adding a second battery to your current setup. Unfortunately, after a full assessment, it became clear that integration with your existing system was not possible due to compatibility issues – something we could only confirm after inspecting the system on site.

At no point did we disconnect, modify, or interfere with your original installation. The system was powered down briefly as part of standard safety protocol for inspection. If your battery system failed to reconnect afterwards, this would have occurred in the same way following a general power cut or a temporary shutdown by any party – including your original installer.

Despite not being responsible for the disconnection, and without obligation, we covered the cost of your original installer’s call-out fee as a gesture of goodwill to help resolve the issue quickly for you. We understand they were also unable to find a fault with the system upon their inspection.

We genuinely regret any inconvenience caused and assure you it was never our intention to leave you in this situation. We remain available should you or your installer require any further information from our side.

I’m very sorry that you were contacted despite being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). We take our obligations under ICO regulations very seriously and ensure our data is screened every 28 days to remain compliant.

Unfortunately, it appears your number was mistakenly included in our live call list when it should have been excluded. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, and I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Our staff are trained to escalate cases like this - where someone informs us they are on the TPS register or simply do not wish to be contacted so that we can immediately remove their details. I apologise if this process wasn’t followed correctly in your case.
