Oxbridge International Summer School Avis 33

I attended the OISS in 2019 studying politics. Academically, I learnt more in two weeks than I ever thought possible. This course gave me an incredible knowledge of topics I previously knew little about and the environment gave us a real insight into the real life Oxbridge experience. But this summer school goes far beyond the academic study, the friends that you make, from all over the world are friendships that have lasted far beyond these two weeks, and I know will last a long time. This summer school really allows you to get to know your tutors and programme managers and everyone makes you feel so welcome. Regardless of your background, this scheme will improve your confidence and awareness of university life, and personally gave me push to apply to Oxbridge, something that I had previously deemed far out of my reach.

Our son attended the OISS in July 2019, studying English. He had a fantastic experience, with incredibly good, tailored tuition from a tutor he bonded with very well. The social aspects of summer school were great and he quickly made friendships that will last well beyond summer school. His academic ability has been strengthened and extended and this has consequently given him a real surge of confidence and assurance in his study skills and intellectual curiosity. I can fully recommend the OISS - it's a great experience.

I tutored on both the 2018 and 2019 summer school, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I had small and engaged classes across both summers, with students very willing to engage with the material and give their own opinions. As my course included elements of my current research it was good to see students getting excited about new ideas.

Enthusiastic students, flexibility but support for tutors in developing their courses, and a welcoming atmosphere at all times. Will definitely consider teaching again.

It was an important experience on all scales, especially academically and socially . it helped jad better decide about his future academic choices, and truly live the experience of being totally independent.
though the fees are relatively high i think it was worth it.

Excellent tutoring experience with a small group of sharp international students. The programme was highly accommodating, allowing me to make numerous last-minute adjustments to my syllabus and planned classes and covering for me when I was away, again at short notice.

I find it difficult to express the magnitude of the experience my daughter had with Oxbridge International Summer School. It was truly transformational. From the deep bonds forged with peers, which have no doubt yielded life long friendships, to the exemplary educational offering. Oxbridge International Summer truly gives "wings to the mind". Their staff is of the highest caliber, coming from the most acclaimed institutions in the world. The focus, as tutors and staff, is to develop the unique abilities of each child, imparting encouragement to develop into all their capabilities, academically, and as part of a larger global community. I know my daughter will see her two weeks at Oxbridge International Summer School as one of the most seminal moments in her life. I can't wait to send my other daughters next year.

When I mentioned that I was taking two weeks of holiday to teach at the Summer School, most people looked aghast. But it was absolutely fantastic! You have so much flexibility in designing the course and in how involved you want to be in the activities. Plus the OISS staff are all terrific, and the students really engaged. I would heartily recommend this to anyone who is interested.

Getting to participate in the Oxbridge International Summer School programme was by far one of the best and most memorable experiences I’ve had the privilege of doing. Without exaggeration, everything was truly fantastic, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat! (:

I had an amazing time at Oxbridge! The course itself was very fun and informative, and I've learned a lot more than school could ever teach me. The tutors were very nice and the classes improved my thinking skills. I also had the pleasure to meet people from all over the world and develop great friendships. Oxford is a very nice city, and the afternoon activities were lots of fun! The debating workshop in the oxford union is one of my favorites!
Overall, the summer school is a great experience to anyone who wants to learn and have fun!

Really enjoyed tutoring at the Oxbridge summer school, finding it a rewarding and engaging experience! The students were very receptive and knowledgeable. The course design was flexible allowing me to bring my own expertise and interests into the subject matter. Support staff were also very helpful and understanding. Only not 5 stars because in the run up to the course I felt sometimes communication was a bit unclear regarding course design with only a short training session close to the course start. However, much of this difficulty stemmed from my lack of tutoring experience and once the course had started I quickly adapted!

These two weeks I spent at Oxbridge were some of the best I have had. I met so many wonderful people that I was able to spend many valuable moments with. The academics were very good and I feel it has prepared me for my upcoming school year. I was able to also grasp an understanding of how life at Oxford and Cambridge is like. I would definitely recommend this course to people who are academically excellent and want to enjoy their summer!

Very much enjoyed my teaching experience with Oxfizz. There is an ideal balance of structure and freedom when devising the course, which means research specialisms can genuinely come to the fore. Support from the head tutor and events coordinators was both constant and productive, meaning no challenge goes without a collaborative solution. Course management made plenty of provision for socials and event participation, helping create a very positive atmosphere amongst staff and students. All round, an excellent break from thesis writing while providing invaluable teaching experiences. Time permitting, I'd do it all again!

I enjoyed this experience hugely. It was incredibly unique, fun and educational and was planned in such a way that tutorials and homework (including essays!) were balanced with fun, games and activites. I found the free time given very useful, as we would get into our groups and tour through Oxford, experiencing the sights personally, together. I made many new friends and learned a lot, and will definitely consider this again in the future.

I loved the summer school! I met so many new people and loved getting to know what others’ lives were like. Getting the chance to explore the city and see what life as a student would be like was amazing as well! The academics were also very interesting. I definitely would recommend this school!

Coming to Oxbridge International Summer School was the best decision of my life. I really loved the experience learning and connecting to other people .Best thing about it is that what i a did here made my parents proud.I am speechless to say anything about it .This 2 weeks i will remember forever and cherish the memories of it.Highly recommend to experience it for once atleast. I am sad i am leaving but happy that so for this is the biggest achievement of my life.AND I AM VERY THANKFUL TO ALL THE PEOPLE IN OISS FOR EVERYTHING THEY DID FOR ALL OF US AND WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THEM FOREVER.THANK YOU

It’s definitely the best two weeks of my life !! The activities were exhilarating, the tutorials were interesting and the people here are amazing !! I will definitely recommend it to my friends.

I was at the molecular medicine course last summer and I loved it! The tutors were really helpful and willing to answer questions, both about the tutorials and about life in Oxford/at uni. This goes for the rest of the staff as well, I enjoyed my two weeks and wish I could have stayed longer! The trips were great as well and I felt like there was freedom to choose what we were interested in doing (like extra Shakespeare). There were some compulsory activities however that weren't that great. My overall impression is very good though, I definitely recommend this summer school! Cornelia

I met some of my closest friends because of OISS, and today, we are planning to reconnect. Every single person from this trip are communicating, three of us started an international book club, and I could not be more grateful to OISS. The intense tutoring sessions allowed me to expand my thinking and my comprehension on pharmacology, and gave me the tools to learn with two other strong female minds from around the world. I would recommend this trip and this experience to anyone!

Oxbridge summer school was the highlight of my summer last year, and to this day, I continue ranting about it and begging my friends to attend it. Not just because of the academic benefits it brings but also because of the several friendships it opens up for you. I am currently at university pursuing a degree in psychology and I am very grateful that I have attended the Oxbridge Summer School, since taking a psychology course at a university level was the thing that made me sure that this is indeed what I want to be doing for the rest of my life. I think this camp should become mandatory for all students before they leave to college! I made friends for life, unforgettable memories and I left with so much new knowledge that I still carry around with me today. This camp made me a better student, a better friend and most importantly, a better person. IF YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO ATTEND THIS SUMMER SCHOOL, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLASE DO NOT LET IT GO TO WASTE.
