Happy to recommend pet insurance. I have had two cats that needed their cover. One car had been hit by a car and needed surgery. Pet insurance sorted us all the way with no hassle in a stressful time. The car made a full recovery too 😁

I have insurance for dog for past 3 years. I thought I was covered by Irish company but on contact phone number ie 012475482 it declares it was taken over by Davis insurance! It gave 2 english phone numbers , neither which are contactable! HELP please

It took 2 calls and a lengthy email to get my pet cover re-set up.

As a pup my dog was on cover with the same company in Ireland and as the cover couldn't be moved to another country, Cz.
I had to cancel it and get the same cover type with the another affiliate company in EU Czech Republic.

When I returned in 2021, I settled back into my home and job in Ireland and reinstated a policy for him. Although I travelled to the UK occasionally and sometimes brought my dog to Prague and sometimes not, when I travelled for work on short visits.
I now needed to reinstate my policy as it had lapsed, I'd changed my bank card after a hacking attempt a Month or so ago and I'd paid in cash for vet check-ups while a new card was issued. I paid for vet visits in Galway as my vet practice has known him since a young pup.

But after explaining to the agent I was home, my dog now 7yrs old, had travelled with his detailed "travel passport" which most importantly includes his anti rabies treatment a yearly shot and rabies pre flight travel treatment requirement. I explained we were home since 2021 she said cover was declined.

Stating as cause, I was a non Irish resident.

I'm Irish & have a very Irish name and continuous Galway address since 2004.

I can only assume she listened to half or less of my replies to her questions.
Or tuned out because unlike many pets, mine had travelled abroad many times and I'd needed to follow particular passport guidelines, ensuring cover in each country as pets are required to have cover in Cz & I always have it on them anyway.

My other old dog is almost 21 because of great continuous care.

I'd explained that I'd come home after 5yrs, in 2021 & was working here and living here since but visited the UK occasionally. I left my CZ dog at home on those short visits.

In fact, he has 2 microchips.
One for CZ & one for Ireland as each require their own despite being both EU.

Not every call is for a pet that never leaves its home or garden.
Clearly my call was too much for her.
Causing me to have to email the company again and repeat it all, to be told to go back to the beginning and set it up again, not reinstate the policy but as a new previously unknown customer.

I've finally got him back on cover but I'm wary of putting my other dog on cover with this company, despite her being born in Ireland & never leaving my County.

What if I'm back in Prague within the year & need dual cover again on two dogs?
Animals travel alot outside of Ireland it's common, but baffles some insurance agents.

If these policies could be used in other EU countries, I wouldn't need to have done all of the switching and changing.

Easy to set up, great features and excellent value for money. So easy to have peace of mind regarding my dogs insurance.

I had 2 separate claims and it took from November to February to process claims- the company do not wish to pay out and make it as difficult as possible mostly sending automatic emails which take a minimum of 5days to get another automatic email. The 2claims were later put together as one claim but after 4months the company say their system can only do one at a time -so many emails and telephone calls it is to frustrating to deal with this company- I would really not recommend Pet insurance.ie to anyone
