I would rate them lower if i could it is a legal scam that has caused me trouble with my bank account being looked into in ways it should not when you use plaid to apply for something on line they seek out everything about you from your spending habits to where you might eat and if your mortgage is tied to your bank account app they go through that they go back through your bank account history and take note of everything they sell off your information to risk factor companies share it with other apps on your phone you might use ,for instance after allowing plaid to access my bank account a couple times i would log into my account only to find out it had a time out and i had to log back in kept wondering why i log out every time it was not until i called my bank & denied plaid any access to my account before this stopped happening not to mention hundreds of unwanted text message emails and phone calls from different companies plaid shared my information with my suggestion is if you want any thing in your banking transactions kept private don’t use plaid for anything it is a total invasion of privacy & way more information is giving out then need be if applying for something from a lender are companies that uses plaid are the companies that buy information from plaid like risk factor companies that insurance companies uses, your bank account history can say a lot about you from things that are no one’s business but plaid makes that there business and everyones business that buys information from them.Conclusion if you don’t mind every transaction you had made being gone through under a microscope then let lenders and other companies use plaid let them have all that information to be shared with other apps and risk factor companies and so on let them make money off your personal information & business,But if you prefer to not have all your information going through in your banking and odd things going on with your banking app don’t use that lender are company that insists for you to give them permission too use plaid in their request to verify information on you because believe me they definitely will verify information on you way beyond what they claim

Plaid is sketchy at best! I refuse to do business with any retailer using Plaid at checkout!! I’ve tried to make several purchases over the past few years with companies using this service. Companies like Nikon, Summit Bullion & others are loosing money because Plaid screws the purchase up always. Wake up retailers!

Tried to charge me $5 to "verify" my account prior to using the service on a website that uses them as a 3rd party payment processor. What a ridiculous thing. I instead decided NOT to make the purchase, NOT to verify or pay an extra $5, and come write this review. The absurdity of this charge is really hard to comprehend. Furthermore, I decided to boycott the company that used this processor permanently. Perhaps when companies keep losing customers due to this garbage, they get wise and find someone doing it better.

I've been using Plaid to link my credit union to a financial app for about three years now. Every few months, Plaid disconnects my credit union without any warning or reason so that, in the middle of a vital transaction, I have to waste up to an HOUR trying to reconnect my credit union via Plaid. Worse yet, this has stopped working. You log in to your bank, fulfill all the security steps, but at the end, the bank does NOT get added back to the financial app. It's a massive waste of time that ends in worse frustration because you have to find a NEW bank to connect to finish the financial transaction you're currently working on. Worse, Plaid is unresponsive to users for help while the financial app engineers/support agents just tell you to take the problem up with Plaid. THIS is yet another reason so many people are switching away from traditional financial services to autonomous blockchain tech financial services. Users shouldn't require an intermediary's permission to USE OUR OWN POST-TAXES money! I'll be leaving the current financial app I'm using JUST to avoid Plaid moving forward.

The Plaid app is a complete waste of time. I have been trying to link multiple apps for several weeks. to no avail. Whatever monies these corporations pay to Plaid should be refunded.

As of today PLAID has refused to recognize my credentials with my bank causing chaos with the multiple apps I use. I have contacted my bank and apps and they all have said it’s an issue with PLAID. Unfortunately PLAID wasted my time with FAQS and AI chat help. I’m not new to PLAID, using them for a few years and now I can’t use the multiple apps I use everyday.

Plaid is nothing but a hassle and doesn't connect a bunch of bullshit if im looking for a loan I can give my own account numbers

A digital system that never recognizes the user's face; it would be better to hire a human operator than to use these useless AIs.

PLAID cost us over 2 weeks of wasted time trying to get the lender to understand that the PLAID platform and its algorithms were effectively wiping out over 60% of our rental income deposits and therefore, causing our loan to be denied. Many of our clients send their monthly rent by Zelle and Billpay which shows up as a P2P transfer. PLAID will not count these deposits as income. It’s a ridiculous software inadequacy in this day and age. Lenders are getting ripped off, whatever they’re paying for the PLAID software, and customers are being denied loans because PLAID consistently miscalculates monthly income, specifically real estate investment and rental income.

Everything was done in a fast timely manner, as it said it would be, no hassle, no problem!!!! Thank you plaid!!! 10 stars

If i had 2 words to describe this company. They would be “absolutely horrible”.

There's no one to talk to. I have spent day after day trying change my account number on my ETSY account. The Plaid app is not excepting the old account number. I have called the bank to verify the closed account number but Plaid on Etsy is not accepting it. Etsy says I have to start a new website on Etsy. Im pissed cause I have been with Etsy for 10 years and in order to fix this PLAID mess I have to spend hous redoing my site. Terrible company when theres no customer service, This country was built on good customer service.

PLAID SAID MY CREDENTIALS WERE WRONG WHEN I HAD ALREADY VERIFIED IT WITH MY BANK. PLAID SUCKS, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU CANNOT TALK TO A HUMAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT.

Plaid is constantly buggy. I've never had a positive experience with them personally or professionally. It has less bugs if you work with a large bank, but if you work with a regional bank or credit union you might as well give up. My bank has open distaste them and sees them as a security risk since they ask for your bank log in information and to bypass your authenticator. If you do a quick google search you'll also see that they lost a lawsuit because they were caught harvesting and selling user financial data without consent.

I had trouble connecting with my bank using plaid. I contacted my bank and there was nothing wrong on that end. I tried repeatedly to get help through plaid and was directed to websites that require payment, or to different web sites to trouble shoot the issue myself, and the same error showed up repeatedly, no matter which direction I attempted from. I spent hours and hours across multiple days trying to resolve the issue, and there is absolutely no phone number to call to talk to an actual person to resolve issues with plaid. If I can help it I will never use plaid again unless they can change their customer support and technical support to actually be helpful.

I am constantly getting stuck on an endless loop at their inept ability to identify any of my accounts. Plaid is a fraud and they are selling your information.

Plaid is just garbage! It works when it feels like working..please scap this platform start over and do better the next time.

I used Plaid to transfer money between my two banking institutions today. I entered in my bank acct number for the receiving bank and Plaid identified it along with all of my accounts and balances there. I checked the proper account to receive the money. Then I went back into my savings (the sending bank) and went to transfer the money, BUT the account listed to receive the transfer was NOT my bank nor my account. Thank goodness I realized this before I sent the money. If I had not, the money would have gone into someone else's account. BE SO CAREFUL if using Plaid to connect your bank accounts and verify banks and account numbers once it's complete. After this, I made the transfer manually without Plaid.

I submitted a payment via Plaid. It verified my bank account and that there was enough money to make the payment but the payment did not go through. Plaid offers no way to determine what the issue is. No customer support and the vendor says they also cant inquire the issue surrounding the failed payment.
