Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. I'm not even a client. They just keep harassing me, to sign up.

Their sales rep. Ben Diaz, keep calling in the middle of the night and hangs up. (How in the world you think, the best sales approach is middle of the night calls?), also about 5 emails that I haven't replied.

Cherry on top, I'm not interested in their products/services nor I need the need for them.

I just used this bogus service for auto…

I just used this bogus service for auto payment to Xfinity. I even went in and made an early payment. I got a confirmation number on 2/25/26. I wondered why the payment hadn't hit my bank. Then on 3//5/26 Xfinty sent me an email that said my bank had returned my payment. My bank says no payment was ever transacted for that amount, and they even checked back to the beginning of Feb.THERE IS NO footprint from PLAID..I've been ranting since this happened, and finally straightened it out.

Absolutely sh$t!!

Absolutely sh$t!! When my routing number gets updated plaid fails to update it and my rent payment failed. Even reconnecting didn’t help. ABSOLUTELY SH$T!

Terrible customer service experience

Terrible customer service experience - they have issues all the time connecting to banks. Even large nationwide banking institutions then when you request help you get an AI chatbot that does not do anything.

overseas can't verify via text

when you are overseas you cannot always get a text message intended for the USA market. HOW SHORT SIGHTED by Plaid. Give us an option to verify the account by email as well please.

The overall score of Plaid clearly shows that they care very little about the consumer as they only target the large institutions. So the large institutions should put pressure on Plaid to become consumer friendly.

Doesn’t do what it’s meant to do

Been using it since been a member of you gov. It always been flakey and clumsy but you could normally get it to link accounts. However recently struggled I’ve to even do that.
I can with some difficulty connect accounts and give permission to share but the system them refuses to go back to You Gov site to complete process. For a rating site it’s ironic than YouGov choose to use such a poor system and whilst I would perhaps have given it two stars maybe three. Recent experiences (when things should be getting better instead of worse) mean only 1 star appropriate

No customer service!

I had an earnin account. I have spent three days waiting for them to reconnect my account and earnin cant tell me when they will get it fixed and reset.

Plaid's garbage code doesn't work

Plaid's garbage code doesn't work. Period. And we're supposed to trust these guys with our bank data? Trash.
Example: I have to log in to Plaid to connect my bank. Sigh. Send 2FA code to phone? Yes.
Wait 5 minutes, no text. Resend 2FA code.
5 minutes, no text. Sigh. Close app and try to resume life.
10 minutes later, two 2FA codes arrive together. Great. Log back in and enter code. It works.
Bank throws up its login screen within Plaid. I don't like this kind of inbred security, but whatever. Log in. Send BANK'S 2FA code to phone. It arrives immediately. I'm in.
Connect? Yes please.
Back to the log in screen for bank in Plaid! What the ****?!?
Log in to bank.
Send bank's 2FA code to phone. I'm in. Connect? Yes.
BACK TO LOG IN SCREEN FOR BANK!
Maybe it's a problem at the bank. Go directly to bank website and log in. Works fine. Log in, see bank accounts, working as designed.
BACK TO PLAID. LUCKY ME.
2FA from Plaid. 2FA from bank in Plaid.
Connect? Yes please.
BACK TO LOG IN SCREEN FOR BANK!

My rent check didn't arrive on time…

My rent check didn't arrive on time last month, so Bilt sent a digital check on January 6 and deposited it via Plaid. My funds are still in process, with the message stating: "Your payment is in process. You should see your funds by 2026-01-13".
I should have requested a physical check and deposited it directly into my bank account for immediate reflection of funds. I would suggest AGAINST using Plaid platform since they hold your money.

Same garbage as a year ago

Same garbage as a year ago, with some banks it won't work, it's just one of the 5 biggest banks in Canada this time. I used it a year ago and it was frustrating as hell. Accepted all input, received the code, took 3 minutes to get back to tell us it's useless. Is there really nothing better institutions could use? Glad it's only a potential convenience thing in this case.

If I could dig a hole and put negative stars for these amateur’s ! So you should if you sell a gun payment comes to a 3rd Parilo “Plaid” and “ check book” which forces you to to log into your destination account where you literally have to give them access to your Checking , savings. Credit cards “. My BOA accounts gives them 360 days of access! H?@$ what could go wrong? And that may seem funny but it’s not!
Other things ! They picked my pocket for about $90 from the original offer for ‘’tiki tak” scratches.
Also, before this night mare offered another fire arm and they offered me about 15% below what
Others offered.
They were nice and professional , but I know there are lot of other places, but I would strongly recommend others.

Doesn't recognize my credentials

I have been trying to set up an account to transfer money using Wise, and they use Plaid to verify bank information. I have entered my bank's routing number and account number multiple times, and it keeps telling me I have entered the incorrect information. It is NOT the incorrect information. I had tried using my debit card instead of the routing and account number, because despite costing more money, I was sick of the nonsense and just wanted to get it done. When I tried to do the instant verificatiin that way, it had me log into my accounts at the same site I would normally log into for my bank, and it told me the login information was incorrect. Funny how I could go directly to the website and get in without a problem. Nobody at Wise can give me an explanation as to why I am being told my information is incorrect, and I have been unable to find a number to speak to someone at Plaid. I have wasted hours and hours on this, over a 3 week span. I moved to Mexico and have to figure out how to transfer money from my U.S. account, and have so far been unsuccessful. Some of the banks in Mexico, (mine included,) no longer accept checks or wire transfers from the U.S. so I am up a creek.

Rejects my phone number despite it…

Rejects my phone number despite it working with all my other accounts/services/banks...would never choose to use this company and reject any company that does...except my health care company uses them!!!

I don’t recommend

I am extremely disappointed with plaid, not only the problems that occurred with them, but also their lack of helpfulness when I was finally able to get ahold of them through the BBB. I had an issue because my bank account was frozen, so I reconnected to plaid only allowing access to my new account, but for some reason it still went through the frozen account. I ended up having several payments rejected which resulted in one of my accounts locking me out and a fee from another account. There was no easy way to contact plaid about the issue, so I had to file a claim with BBB. Plaid eventually responded but kept blaming Citibank for the issue, despite that it happened on various platforms. I do not recommend this service — easier and safer just to directly connect with your bank account than trusting this terrible service.

PLAID FOR ABLE NOW VIA PNC BANK HORRIBLE

I have tried multiple times over the last 6 months to obtain an ABLENOW account for my special needs young adult. PNC Bank uses PLAID to verify the individual using their ID via PLAID's app. Each time there is an error and I am denied verification. I've used my drivers license. I've used my passport. I've tried good lighting. I've tried no external lighting (glare). I've also had my son try to obtain verification and the same result has occurred. There is no way to connect with PLAID customer service to find out the reason why, and PNC Bank, PLAID's customer, is not able to assist with this part of the process. AND, the kicker, the ABLENOW account can ONLY be applied for online. I can't go into a PNC bank for assistance. I have to use the PLAID service to verify my account. I'm appalled that ABLE is using this company to verify its special needs individuals for a benefit/service they deserve and need!

Needs improvement

Trash system, invisible transaction limits, bot support that’s completely redundant and unhelpful. No support. No error codes. Did yall use ai to create your bugged systems? ☠️ it’s been like this for over a year- they won’t change. Hoping a new company/competitor takes over soon
