Credit Score Being Punished

I have been with Plastk for a couple of years and my credit score was slowly rising, but now that no payments can be made since August 2023 my credit utilization is staying at 59% since I cannot make any payments. Now after all of that hard work, my score has gone down 2 months in a row. Plastk will not reply to me or reach out to equifax to make any corrections, I am trying to apply for new home and with my score going down, any lenders will see me as a risk and turn me down. Plastk Financial, how are you going to help me? I have never missed any payments, done any chargebacks and never requested for any account closures. I don’t care about getting the deposit back but please make any corrections to equifax so I can get my score back up.

Company has basically been 'shut down' since end of August, when DC Bank pulled the plug on their systems.. While I feel sorry for whoever's left answering email's, the cut and paste replies are garbage.. I ask simple questions, and get something back that has nothing to do with what I asked.

How are you going to give refunds, when you can't even tell me where my money is? Or why there was some Withdrawl BY Plastik on my account, mere hours before you went into 'sorry we're screwed mode'.

Update - They've posted the same copy and paste response on everyone's reporting. Email conversation has been fun.. Their T&C's are invalid as the company no longer operates.. So legally they can't hold your funds for 60 days anymore, as DC Bank cancelled EVERY CARD. This moving to a new system has been spewed for months. Motola is a deadbeat scammer.

terrible - it couldn't get any worse

terrible. Just terrible.

- service goes down regularly (which locks your card)
- at one point I tried to increase my credit limit by $2000. (it used to be a specific email to submit).
But instead they applied that directly to my balance. That's NOT how you build credit. Phone operators were zero help
- Currently their system has been down for over 1 month
- Check the CBC Consumer report because they are not returning deposits

RUN AWAY!!!! Neo financial is where I eventually landed and they are night and day compared to these crooks

Can I rate negative 100000000???

I would give this company a 0 out of 10 if I could. There are too many issues to list them all however, funds are being frozen, no access to my card, service disruptions, my credit rating tanking while they are in dispute with their bank. Crappy all around. Do yourself a favour and don't even consider this company.

AVOID THESE SCAMMERS!!!!

0 is the best rating for this company! Card stopped working in Feb due to their legal issues. It only worked intermittently on the best of the days before that. Cancelled my card, well tried to because they REFUSE TO REFUND YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT!!! Avoid this company at all cost. I've reported them to every government agency. I have been instructed to take them to small claims court as that is the only way to get my refund. And the best part? They have NEGATIVELY AFFECTED MY CREDIT!!!! Stay away!!!! Many other decent credit building companies out there.

I would give zero stars if possible

I would give zero stars if possible. I canceled the card back in April (after wrangling with them) and was told it would be 60 days before the return of my $500 security deposit. On August 28, 4 months later, Plastk deposited $495 back into my account and I thought that was that.
No, because now the deposit has been reported by DC Bank as fraudulent and “made in error” and they’re taking it back. What the heck???? That’s my money!!

Like the thousands of others I'm sure you've read about by now, I made the mistake of sending MY money to this crooked thieving company. I wiped my hands clean of them almost 1.5years ago (after they said my account was closed, and after I gave up on fighting to get my deposit back after cancelling before even getting the card), just to find out tonight that they have been sending fraudulent reports to the credit bureau for the past year and a half saying I'm not paying (an account I owed nothing on as I never used it, and was supposed to be closed) and somehow I now OWE THEM almost $350.

For anyone looking to put pressure on plastk to get your money back, read this reddit post (not mine):

They have been in dispute with Digital Commerce Bank (DCB) the company that manages their credit card services. Anyone who has made a payment recently will have noticed that their payments have not been posted. Plastk has put a half-assed explanation on their app.

However, Googling further reveals something that they have still failed to disclose: That DCB is terminating all the Plastk cards on August 31, 2023. So if you are expecting this to be ironed out, don't hold your breath. This and the CBC Go Public story above lead me to believe that we're all going to be facing a long battle and I want to start a proactive pressure campaign to get them to release their customers funds to their righful owners. If you are a Plastk customer or want to help please join me in doing the following:

Filing a report with the RCMP, as this is theft due to their omission and obfuscation of the truth. You can file a report online: **link removed, google Online Crime Reporting | Royal Canadian Mounted Police and itll be the first link**

2) Filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau here:

3) Review bombing them on both Google Play and Apple Store and then reporting their app so it gets de-platformed:

4) Contact CBC Go Public with your story by sending an e-mail to **remove spaces and put the symbol instead of the words at and dot** gopublic at cbc dot ca

Lastly, I am getting together people who want to join a class action lawsuit against the company. I am currently seeking out lawyers who would be willing to take the case. If you want to join the fight, please upvote this post and I'll update this thread once I have more information.

EDIT: I have already logged a criminal complaint with the RCMP. If anyone affected by this wants to report to their local detachment and add their name, reference my complaint: 2023-800090

EDIT #2: I have also filed a complaint with Visa directly. Since it is their logo on all the cards. At first they were like "straighten it out with the issuer" and then I explained how they are dodging every form of communication. They are now investigating. If you're stuck in this situation as well, contact Visa directly and press on them to investigate. They are incredibly protective of their brand, so if you press on them that Plastk is ruining their reputation (because that's the truth) they will be more inclined to intervene.

EDIT 3 (09/12): Been following up with the RCMP, they said they need more evidence that Plastk is reneging on their contracts with people. If you're still 60+ days waiting for your deposit back, CALL YOUR LOCAL DETACHMENT AND REFERENCE CASE #2023-80090. Give them copies of all e-mail correspondence.

Credit Karma is washing their hands in this situation, so if you're using them, stop.

Still waiting for word back from Intuit and Visa. --

We, clearly, need to band together here to bring this horrendous company down.

LEGIT SCAMMERS

I got a Plastk Secured Card last year to help build my credit. I paid $300 down as a deposit on my card and the company promised to report my purchases and payments to the credit bureau to help build credit. I checked my credit report and they never ever did. After a while I decided to get a real credit card from a different institution so I wanted to close my Pastk account. I emailed them with my intention. They closed my account. A few months later I haven't heard from them so I sent a follow-up email wondering where my deposit went. They forwarded my email to a different department and a couple months later I received $295 in an e-transfer. 3 days later my bank's fraud department called me saying that Plastk's financial institution claimed the deposit back because they accused me of stealing that money. My bank's policy is to automatically reverse any e-transfer when any complaint of fraud comes through. I'm still fighting with Plastk to get my deposit back and I'm lucky that my bank unfrozen my e-transfer count because they are now getting multiple complaints from different customers also having the same scam done to them. STAY AWAY. I can't believe that they are legally able to operate in Canada.

Plastk Credit Card is A Scam

Cancelled card in January 2023. Supposed to get security funds returned after 60 days. Did not receive them until the end of August. The security funds were returned by e-transfer. ONLY for Plastk to claim the transaction was fraud. Wait what? Claiming fraud on my money that was returned as a part of the credit agreement is fraud itself You sent back my money and then called it fraud. Now that money is on hold while I fight with Interac and RBC to provide proof that is my money. Because Plastk claims fraud the money will prob go back to them. Such a pile of crap. This company is a snake. The owner was a used car salesman. He would take cars on trade in and not pay off the amount owing and sell them. He was charged AND convicted. Google search it ruling is there. See a pattern? This is the sketchiest company.do a google search. Motola Omobamiduro Is the owner. Every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. People have sent in thousand as a security deposit to never even receive a card Because they are not a bank they are governed differently which leaves the consumer with little recourse and protection. They have also had their contract terminated from the issuing institution for nonpayment of fees and are being sued. Check out DC Bank notification. Have to scroll down to the bottom cause it's hidden but it's there. DO NOT GET this card. A simple google search will save you your time and money. Run like hell from this company. It is essentially a scam artist working in a different industry from the proverbial car salesman. This man should be in jail.

Do Not Use This Company

After reading the reviews for this company back in April I decided to cancel my credit card. They agreed to do this reluctantly and stated I would have to wait 60 days for the return of my deposit. After 112 days and many emails they returned my deposit into my bank account.

A few days later I was contacted by the bank who stated that as I had received money from what they described as a "Fraudulent Company" they had frozen my bank account and would carry out an investigation. Luckily I was able to provide all the emails showed the reason for the money transfer into the bank and my account was reinstated a few worrying days later.

This is a Zombie company which will not last much longer and which should never have existed in the first place. There are still financial advisors recommending this company to the public.

My recommendation is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The most dishonest company ever

I honestly don't even want to give this company a one-star. I'm a single mom trying to work on building my credit back. From day one not being able to use my card even if it's paid off. And then now getting an email stating that I have no access to my card because their company is in some type of financial dispute or something. Then I tell them that I want my money back and they send me an email stating that there is going to be an Administration charge for canceling it. They are absolute disgrace and I hope anyone thinking of getting this card or working with this company thinks again.

These guys are a scam.
I paid $600 and it just so happened the fay after their card stopped working. I have a fraud report filed with the RCMP.

My bank account is now flagged for fraudulant activity and all my bank accounts frozen because I closed my account with you guys, you sent back my payment and then DISPUTED YOUR SENT BACK PAYMENT!!! Then denying you disputed it! Now I have no access to my own money and can't pay my rent because you guys are scam artists!! Beware!!!!

Plastk out of business!

The company went out of business Aug. 31/23. Their App. deleted. I lost $2000.
Was a shady company anyhow and I should have known better. Oh Well. Live and learn. Out $2000. C'est la vie!!

Still Persisting Cancellation One Year Later

REALLY wish there was an option for photos/screengrabs. One year later I am STILL trying to cancel my account, still receiving the same copy and paste "back end issues" bullcrap they gave me last year. I have literally never been so damn frustrated in my life. How is this company even still active? This is criminal. Don’t ever get this credit card

Don’t ever get this credit card. I don’t know how the government is letting them operate. customer service is zero and service is scam. If I could give no star I would. Stay clear from this company.

Most recent excuse no refund

The most recent excuse they keep giving me now is they are and I quote “buying their time”. I have asked him to explain what they mean by this, and they keep jumping around the question they refuse to answer it they clearly have taken peoples money for deposits and spend it and they just don’t have it and are probably looking for a new investor so that they can try and pay some of it back to make it look like they had it the whole time, if anything I think it showing this company is going bankrupt they are continuing to steal money and continuing to try and get new people to sign up but I want everybody out there do not sign up with this company. I have been fighting for over six months now to get my money back and it has been constantly different excuses and now the latest one that they are buying their time. … and refusing to answer what that means they are up to no good. The CEO of this company definitely belongs in jail.

OVER 120+ DAYS WAITING .

UPDATE: I HAVE BEEN REFUNDED AFTER 150 DAYS OF WAITING !!!

100+ DAYS WAITING .. STILL NO REFUND!!! SCAM COMPANY!

I waited the 60 days to cancel my card, and got the same run around they’re giving everyone else when trying to inquire on when my refund will be received. All of the “refund money” have been pushed into a “queue” with no refund date able to be provided, they can’t tell you how long it takes to process an individual in the queue or where your placement is in the queue - trust me I’ve asked and they don’t have an answer for it.

So June 1st I put a call in to request a call back from management regarding my refund and it’s now July 20 .. 50 days have passed and I have not gotten a call back at all with any information.

The owner of this company is fraudulent and already plead guilty for screwing over customers at a previous company he ran prior to this.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

EDIT AFTER BS RESPONSE FROM PLASTK:
I’m now at 115 days of no call back from management and everyone’s getting the same response.

Where’s my money & where’s my call back ?

A fractions on top of a fractions on top of a fractions when are you going to f****** learn

I asked for my credit card to be to be canceled after this company got hit with 32 infractions and 42 counts of fraud they put my account on suspension and continue to charge me this is not a credit card company this is a launcher and company that needs to be looked into at the fullest cost again
