I am so heart broken right now

I am so heart broken right now. Apparently this was a scam. I'm trying so hard to rebuild and get a fresh start. I trusted them as they were advised on Credit Karma. My experience is the same as I've been reading. Sent them a deposit 2+ months ago. Still no card. Excuses and bs same blah blah blah. Cards being printed this Sunday. Please be patient. It's been expedited

Absolutely a scam

Absolutely a scam. Steer clear of these disgusting people.

Sent them fund 3 months ago, kept getting the same BS excuses as everyone else, stating the cards weren’t printed.

Requested a refund and told to wait 60 days ( what is that about?) and they would refund me. Fast forward 2.5 months and now they’re feeding me more crap.

Here’s the next step in the lies from these con artists…

The refunds go into a queue to be processed by our refund issuing team, and due to the errors we're facing with our banking platform, there's a backlog at the moment affecting the timelines. Hence we need time to process refunds for our customers. Please note that we acknowledge this and will by all means process the refunds on priority basis.

This is unacceptable and I’ll be retaining legal council to get my money back.

this company sucks

after waiting months for a card after sending them security deposits and asking for a refund, I got a card in the mail that dosent work half the time....., this happens weekly, and the third time THIS week alone, dont be foold by this company.

Don’t waste your time any money with…

Don’t waste your time any money with this company! Sent them funds, been over a month waiting on my card, still nothing got the same excuses every week from the same 3 people, phone number doesn’t work, now have to wait 60 days on a refund! They are the only “ company “ in the world that even says refunds take that long! Who knows if I will get my money back! Total scam!

Not impressed at all, someone should sue them! I’m definitely reporting them as well.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam! (May 5, 2022) After sending 21 emails to cancel my account and 4 phone calls with the run around and transferring me to another agent I finally had enough and messaged the Ceo Motola Omobamiduro on LinkedIn in. He called me to say he would waive 3 months of monthly fees($6/mth) to stay and would follow up with a phone call some time in the near future. After he said he would pay right away and failed to do so I Continued to email another 3 times to cancel the account. Funny they never got the 18 emails then but now all of a sudden they did. I was told as of May 11th card was frozen and account in queue to be canceled. Date should have been canceled July 11th. Paid off the 2 months of monthly fees in advance and paid the Interest owing the prior month(full total already paid off) 5 months was paid off, no monthly charges, no purchases as was frozen remember. Come to find out that September 23-October 22 bill had a unknown charge of $262.26. No purchases, no fines no monthly fees no nothing for nothing added put of thin air. Not only that but they reported this fraudulent charge to Equifax. Only time they reported it. (They started the date open and it R1 revolving/open) should have been closed 6.5 months ago. Still have this on my statement, still on Equifax and they refuse to take it off and cancel the account. If u already have an account please report them to as many authorities as u can, the news everyone. If u don't have an ACCOUNT this is your warning. Read all the bad reviews. He pays people for sure to review on Google. He went from a 2.1 start to 4.1 star in 3 weeks that I had updated my review. For all the bad reviews and on the good reviews the bottom where it asks if this was helpful and the thumbs up and thumbs down the thumbs down is most prominent on the the good reviews. You have been warned.

EDIT: As of this date November 29th neither the account is closed, or the bogus charge I didn't incur, taken off. I was also suppose to get a call back from a manager. I called 2 days ago now. P.s. why do I have a charge in December 2020 if the account wasn't open until March 10, 2022????? Throwing multiple charges JUST because. Ridiculous. Close the account immediately. Your company needs to be investigated and shut down. Literally this is happening to hundreds of people as per Google, and BBB reviews. LAST TIME IM GONNA ASK U. CLOSE THE ACCOUNT, TAKE OFF THE CHARGE I DIDN'T INCUR AND TAKE IT OFF EQUIFAX!!!!!! This is almost goimg on for 7 months. I have all the proof of the 21 emails i sent to u guys to close the account, the phone logs, and the statements! I've already talked to the cops, and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center.

They took my deposit and still haven't…

They took my deposit and I never received my credit card. I called and they kept saying it's on the way but it was a lie! After 3 months of waiting, I called and emailed them to cancel and I still haven't refunded my money and it has been 6 months!
Every time I call or email, I get the same excuses.
Stay away from this crook of a company!
(The reply below from plastk is a lie, the refund still hasn't been processed!)

Cannot believe Credit Karma recommended…

Cannot believe Credit Karma recommended these people. Been trying for a month to get a card sent to me! "Be patient" "Cards are issued on Sundays" "Malfunction at the factory that makes the cards". Hmm sound like this has been going on for months. Trying to get my money back from them. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau!!!

They are a bunch of scammers! They won’t give you your money back and charge u all kinds of fees and interest on zero balance
Stay far away!

Update; same excuse as all the other times. Backlog of refunds. It takes less than 30secs to send an e-transfer so that’s a poor excuse. Don’t bother replying back with a pathetic response Plastk. You did nothing before and u did absolutely nothing again. Bunch of scam artists how come the authorities don’t arrest them? I stand by my heading; scammers! Until u pay me back my money owed, this review will stay up and will continue to be updated

Don't bother with this card

Don't bother getting this card complete scam sent $1000 deposit no replys no card and no one ever answers the phone you just sit on hold.. I'm sure I'm out $1000 so save your money and find another card

SCAM!

I can't write a review because I can't use the descriptive language that Trustpilot would print. Suffice it to say I'm sure you would not lend money to Al Capone. Update! Yep they are smooth talkers but in my opinion NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

RUN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Update:
It is VERY CLEAR. They have spent everyones security deposit. The bank got on to them and shut them down. Cant blame them really. There is no money coming in to pay security deposits back..it is what it is. I suggest you tell everyone you know and more via every available source so nobody else gets scammed by Plastk.

I will be amazed if another card company takes these guys on. HUGE scam has been committed here and continues to happen.

Dont trust the reviews that have 1 review ever submitted. I suspect these are employees and paid friends of Plastik.
That being said. They lie.
Right from the beginning.
They hold your security deposit and dont send you a card. Constant nonsense about only printing cards on Sundays and that mine will be printed this Sunday only for them to say no, sorry it was not done. Maybe next week.

Once you send them your security deposit, it is too late. Dont send these guys ANY money.

There are other options out there.

If you already sent them money, I am sorry. I feel your pain. They hold on to your money for another 60 days even though they have not even created a card for you yet!

I cannot believe this business has not been shut down.

UPDATE

UPDATE: I received my funds back - however there was more than their $5 processing fee missing, it was closer to $20.

It probably helped me that I kept demanding their government regulator’s name (which they never did provide btw).

My final takeaway from the experience? Stay away from Plastk. There are better ways to build credit, and better companies to do it with. Try a credit builder loan with Refresh Financial, or a secured credit card with a reputable company like Capital One.

The entire process post-application is a nightmare. Their interface is horrible, and their customer service is so bad you’d think they weren’t interested in having customers at all. They have Client Success Representatives galore, but I never actually spoke with anyone who had any actual power to do anything. This company honestly might be people who are honestly trying to start a small business to help people - but if that’s who they are, they’re not good at it.

At the end of the day, do they send a card (eventually)? Yes.

Does it work? Yes.

Do they return (most of) your deposit (at their leisure, after being threatened with litigation and berated for incompetence for over a month?) Yes.

Would I recommend my worst enemy took out this card? No.

I would rather give them 0

I would rather give them 0. Every week their service is down for few hours. Even you have money in your account it gets declined…Plastk Sentinel is another atrocious product. I am paying 18$ every month for the service. The credit score is never getting updated. I have reached their customer support without any success. Plus to cancel the subscription is a task in itself. If you don’t have a desktop computer, it becomes impossible to cancel the the product and they will keep charging you for a service that is not properly developed. Please be beware of using this horrible service or card.

Ok, but…

Platik Card is Ok but some locations do not approve any transaction and it is not in my credit bureau, so it is a card to use in suspicious places but it is not helping at all my credit.

This company is a scam and will not…

This company is a scam and will not cancel my account or refund me my $700. I have called and spent HOURS on hold, or they pick up and hang up before you can say hello. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I just want my money back. I have recorded conversation, screenshots of our chats, and emails.
If anyone is suing them please let me know. I have documented proof!!!

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. I have been waiting over 2 months for my card. The same guy keeps saying they print on Sundays and will expedite the card. Never happens. I contact them weekly and still have received nothing. I asked for a refund ($1000) and he just ignored me. Saying wait for the card. Effectively I've lost the $1000 and have nothing other than an email contact that goes to random people who all give me the same scripted answer. Completely a scam. Do Not send this company money. You'd be better off burning the cash and saving yourself the stress.
Zero stars.
Scam.

Unethical and corrupt

I sent my deposit for $1000 back in July and I canceled 2 days after. I'm still waiting for my refund 60+ business days later. These guys are as corrupt as it gets. For 2 months they've been giving excuses for not being able to return my money. Ranging from banking issues to unable to reach senior management.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. GO TO CAPITAL ONE.

This company is a complete scam

This company is a complete scam, I wouldn't be surprised if it is run by a criminal enterprise. Whatever you do NEVER do business with this company and never send them money. It's only a matter of time before they get raided and all the accounts frozen. I have an active fraud investigation already underway regarding them. Any website that refers you to them gets a major kick back commission wise. If the website recommends them its only because of the commission.

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would - 1 is more than this company deserves. I signed up for secured card back in May of this year and sent in my $500 security deposit. After weeks of waiting for a card, I emailed to ask about an ETA. Every time it was "sorry, there's an issue with card makers" and "we will expedite this and have it to you by next week". After almost 2 months of waiting, I decided to cancel the card, as I was sure it would never arrive. I was told that the process to cancel takes about 30 days and then the refund of $495 ($5 administration fee, whatever) would be processed. Nope. All of a sudden it turned into "No, it's actually 60 days to process". End of September rolls around and what do I get? A notification from Equifax that an account has been opened in my name and it's from Plastk. WITH A CHARGE!!! I had never even been issued a card!! How could there be a charge?? Well, they had decided to forget my cancellation and go ahead and continue with the card issuing without my knowledge. I email relentlessly to try and get this solved and every time I got the same answer "we are expediting this request, don't pay attention to the Equifax account. Just request it to be removed" What kind of answer is that?? Now today: Still no refund, The account is still on my Equifax report, AND they have reported a late payment on the phantom amount that is "owed" on this card I have never used or physically even seen as it was never sent!! Avoid at all costs. Please. This company is a scam. Absolutely disgusting
