A positive and lasting experience...
I enjoyed taking the General Proofreading: Theory and Practice course. I loved that I could learn at my own pace. The course is thorough, and I was reminded of grammar rules I had long forgotten. I've always loved to write and have often been asked to take on writing tasks in my various jobs. This course was a nice addition to my toolkit. The staff was very supportive and always available. I am looking to supplement my income with an old love (and a new career!) in writing.

There is a lot of computer language that am not very familiar with, given that I am not that proficient in computing. There are also lots of twists and turns that make the course interesting. What I have learnt is to expect surprises in the next quizzes and tests.

Comprehensive and fun…
I find the course to be comprehensive and very instructive. While I haven't completely finished yet, I look forward to using my new skills to supplement my Social Security income. I highly recommend this course to anyone willing to put in the time and effort.

Beneficial but…
While the information is beneficial the number of emails sent daily is outrageous! Getting 2-3 emails per day is way too much and really was discouraging me from continuing on. I almost stopped because I don't want to receive anymore emails.
Also, with the general proofreading course test it was frustrating. I reviewed and followed the feedback only to learn it's not accurate information but only 'general' feedback. Quite disappointing to say the least, however I'm still working on finding my niche!

If you really go through the lesson…
If you really go through the lesson plans and videos, you learn exactly what is required to become a sound proofreader. I was nervous submitting my final exam. However, when I got my results, I was extremely pleased and so glad I stuck with it to the end. Like anything else in life, you get out what you put in!

Do NOT give these people your email address! I was intrigued to hear a little more about their program. After looking into it, it became clear that almost no one was able to make a living as a proofreader after taking their course. Read the one star TrustPilot reviews. I never paid for their course. My complaint— it’s been 5 days since I looked at their course, and I’ve received more than 30 emails from them! I’ve unsubscribed and blocked them!

The company provides all the tools necessary in an easy to follow format. they deliver quick responses to questions the student might have and they offer plenty of examples for each module. I would definitely recommend this course and certification to others.

I haven't gotten to far along
I haven't gotten to far along, but I am enjoying the entire platform. I am remembering many thing I already knew but had forgotten from lack of usage. I'm looking forward to the later chapters and the help starting to put my self out there!
