Home Interior Painting

We used Home Depot's pro referral system to find a painter for our new condo. We found Greg at Percy's Painting - 2503721 Alberta LTD. Greg was punctual for the quote and for the job. He quoted 4 days and was done on time and to the quoted price. He took great care with the actual paint job and ensuring our items were protected. The condo looks so much better with this professional paint. I would highly recommend him for any of your painting needs!

Betrayed

I have been a member (as a contractor)for years, with hundreds of satisfied customers. I have excellent reviews. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years at the Depot. I recently had a "Karen" client that submitted a false claim backed by lies and the Home Depot Referral program " closed my account" No hearing, no communication.

Not trusted pros

This program doesn't actually do any vetting to ensure they are providing an actual referral. We were referred to a conman who stole thousands of dollars from us and left us in a demoed house while he tried to get more money from us. We asked Home Depot for help so we could at least not have to pay double for the materials we never received from the contractor and they denied our request. We also found out that this contractor was removed from their referral program after he was referred to us because of other customers experiencing similar issues however we were never notified. We are extremely disappointed that Home Depot would be so unhelpful when our loss is significant to us and nothing to a large corporation and their referral led to a devastating experience.

I was charged 40 points as a pro referral contractor each time I accepted a lead from them. I called the customers and left messages within a few minutes of receiving the lead. I never get calls back from the customers

Home Depot Pro Referral, scam red flag!

As a contractor with more than twenty years of experience, fully licensed, bonded, and insured, my initial excitement for Home Depot Pro Referral quickly diminished.
While I joined with optimistic expectations, I soon noticed a troubling pattern: an alarming 90% of the leads seemed to be fraudulent or scams, seemingly aimed at extracting personal information.
The absence of verified Pro leads was a significant red flag, as no verification was conducted.
Additionally, Home Depot Pro's employment of unlicensed handymen, who perform the same tasks as licensed contractors, bidding on the same jobs, exacerbated the situation.
As contractors, we invest many years of experience into our work, and we are required to have liability insurance and bonding insurance.
I have personally faced instances where I was sent to fix projects mishandled by these handymen, necessitating a complete redo of the work.
This not only squandered my time and resources but also tarnished the Home Depot brand and ultimately affected the customer experience, as evidenced by numerous negative reviews from dissatisfied customers, with many complaints directed at the handymen.
Question: Are you aware of what it takes to be a handyman? (NOTHING AT ALL)
You are not required to demonstrate experience; you simply need to possess the tools and a willingness to try, That's it!

When contemplating Home Depot Pro referrals, customers should recognize that anticipated savings may not come to fruition.
Although the program intends to connect you with contractors, there exists a risk of being matched with a handyman rather than a fully qualified contractor.
For projects that demand expertise, compliance with building codes, and timely execution, depending on a handyman may result in unsatisfactory outcomes as the reviews state.
It is essential to verify that the referred professional has the requisite qualifications and experience to manage the job effectively and to prevent potential complications or the need for rework.

This review is for the…Bath Remodeling Contractors

This review is for the proreferral.homedepot.com. The HD claims to have a list of qualified contractors on its referral list. I want to tell you of one contractor service that you should NOT use. Do Not Use American Home Remodeling located in Corona, CA. The sales representative and contracting agent referred to us was a complete disaster. This company should be removed from the Home Depot referral list immediately. They were rude, insulting, and unprofessional. If this company fails to establish trust in the beginning, then they will likely fail worse in the end. Home depot clients beware. They wont share the reviews with you. They fail to maintain quality control.

Unreliable so-called "Pros" and poorly designed program

From my perspective, ProReferral is useless.
Every single so-called "Pro" was a waste of my time and emotions, exc. one, who actually showed up, but even he did one small project OK, but he turned out to be sloppy and expensive for my next tiny project.
Every other "Pro" either never called back or never showed up as scheduled, and another poorly designed feature was their reviews and rating: you can only review the "Pros" if you hire them, but you cannot rate/review those who never called as promised or never showed up as scheduled, and once you post a review, you are done, no way to add/edit your review.
It feels like mostly "Pros" with low quality and weak reputation get in this program, because they had a problem building the clientele and good reputation.

REYNOLDS WORLDWIDE LLC

REYNOLDS WORLDWIDE LLC
This companies LLC was dissolved on 9/24/24. This guy Isaiah Reynolds is a scammer. Also located in Stockbridge, GA He presented himself as an approved vendor for Home Depot and it was too late when I found out he wasn't. He is tied to someone at their store or one of the approved vendors is feeding him leads. He scammed me for 536.38. Did not complete the job. He was hired to repair my refrigerator and made multiple appointments and never showed. Always an excuse. Showed up one time and dropped off my compressor (no cost to him) it was still under warranty - gave me a box that was supposed to have a brand new mother board in it and I should have opened it at the time. I have been dealing with this scammer since 12/20/24. Today is 1/27/25 and I had another Tech (a real one) come this morning. He diagnosed my refrigerator and I asked him to look at the parts this scammer had left me. The mother board was stuck down in a black bag that had been opened and it had water damage and was used. This Isaiah aka Christopher charged me 319.95 for that used water damaged mother board and $95.00 for the letter of authority from LG. That letter was free. I found all this out this morning when I finally saw the invoice from this scammer. I asked him for the actual parts invoice but no reply. There are (2) complaints on BBB about this guy. I filed one so now there are (3) STAY AWAY FROM HIM HE IS A CROOK. Isaiah Reynolds aka Christopher. BBB Complaints, Yelp, Revdex.com, bizpedia.com.
Also did some more searching and this impersonator is a criminal. Mug shots from Ga and Fl.
He got my information from Home Depot, ProReferral or one of their approved vendors who gave my name and number to a criminal who gave me a fake name.

Ceiling fan installation

William Carter of Grayter Electric was one of the pros referred to us by Home Depot. He was the first to call me was available come look at our project right away. William communicated by phone and by text. He arrived promptly and gave a quote for the job. When he came to install the fan, William was respectful and thorough. The ceiling fan works perfectly. I highly recommend William Carter for electrical projects.

excellent quality work

When I signed up at Home Depot to have a contractor fix my shed doors , I was given the names of 5 contractors. Only Walter Gonzalez, DeWalter Construction, called to discuss the problem. He was courteous, very pleasant and a skilled carpenter who treated the project as though it was in his own home. He showed me that the doors needed to be replaced. He came on time, was careful by putting down drop cloths in the area where he cut the wood doors, and I am completely satisfied with the quality of his work. I highly recommend Walter Gonzalez .

We used Home Depot Pro referral...BUYER BEWARE! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH!…

We used Home Depot Pro referral services. "BUYERS BEWARE! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH! My wife and I paid this contractor Glenn from Glenn Specialized Construction more than $10K in September 2023. Plus gave him access to purchase materials from Home Depot at our expense. So, to have a contractor do such a shoddy job leaves me speechless. Which also added to the cost of this project. To do some sheetrock inside the home and garage, bathroom vanity remodeling roof repairs, and various other contractor work. We were very pleased with the work initially when we first moved back into our home. However, there were a few more jobs we needed him to finish. Which he promised to come back. However, he just ghosted us, never came back, and stopped responding.

Then, to add insult to injury. Recently, we discovered in our bedroom that we had a leak behind one of the sheetrock walls he replaced leading to the bathroom. The leak was so bad that it was soaking our master bedroom carpeted floor and the walk-in closet carpet. So, we called another contractor to come out to find out what was going on. This contractor discovered that Glenn Specialized Construction used the wrong piping connection under the sink in the master bedroom vanity. Which caused the drainage from our A/C unit to clog and back up. The too small pipe connection was so clogged that it destroyed part of the sheetrock that he did replace. Now it has also soaked our new carpet that we will most likely have to replaced "AGAIN." This guy was recommended to us By Home Depot Pro Referral. In my opinion, I feel we paid too much money for this guy to not do a professional job on everything WE contracted him to do in our home.

I hired a contractor through Home Depot…DO NOT RECOMMEND

I hired a contractor through Home Depot to assemble an outdoor chair that was too heavy for me to handle. I got a couple interested companies, one....Quality Assemblers called me almost immediately. I texted him and he quoted me a price of $100, which seemed fine. After I explained that this would take 2 men, it's very heavy and in 2 pieces (and I sent him a picture), we then agreed on $150, which I thought fair, gave him my address. He said he could do it and would come out Wednesday at 3:00. He never came that day, never called. So, I again tried to reach out to Home Depot, he apparently saw that and apologized, said he messed up and could he reschedule? I told him I'd give him one more chance so we rescheduled for yesterday from 9-11:00. He did not call to say he was coming or was going to be late so I gave up and went to lunch.....at 11:30. He finally showed up at 1:00 (2 hours late with no phone call). I told him he should have called and had I done that in my career, I would have been fired. I can understand having to reschedule or a previous job taking longer or traffic but everyone has a cell phone and SHOULD CALL. Professional, reliable companies do. He did have a helper and they did seem to do the job OK and they put it on my back porch like I asked but if I can't trust people to come when they say, I never do business with them again. When I reached out to Home Depot, they said all they do is refer them, they are independent contractors and they don't stand behind them. I said....why would you put them on your website then? So, they promptly disconnected my "chat" with them. I have done business with Home Advisor, which I think is Angie's now and THEY DID STAND BEHIND THE CONTRACTORS AND WOULD MAKE THEM FIX SOMETHING IF IT WASN'T DONE RIGHT. But, when I called them, now apparently they want your credit card upfront and I don't like that. Also, he said he'd give me a discount for the screw-up, but I told him I'd pay him what we agreed on because I knew it was a difficult assembly. I told him he just should have called, so I was irritated. Every reliable business calls you. So, even though the chair turned out fine, I'd never hire him again. Oh, also yesterday early in the morning he asked me again for my address, which he should have had, I took that as a good sign that he was actually going to show. It wasn't a big job or big deal and I hadn't paid upfront so I wasn't real worried, not like I was having a kitchen remodeled, but too much aggravation. And Home Depot doesn't care. Sadly, this seems to be the rule rather than the exception with companies these days. It's difficult to find a good one. I've dealt with a lot of contractors in my time and can almost immediately tell if they know what they are doing when they show up to talk to you, and I have little patience for nonsense. AGAIN, Home Depot knows nothing about the contractors they have on their website. Sometimes you finally find a good company, then when you need them again, they don't get back to you or are out of business or someone else has bought the business name.

Contacted ProReferral from a referral…

Contacted ProReferral from a referral by my local HOME Depot store. Unfortunately they referred a con man to me who promised to custom build a bathroom vanity and install it for me. Instead he tried to deliver and install a cheap off the shelf stained small vanity. I refused delivery and he has refused to return my $5200.00 deposit. To make matters worse ProReferral is ignoring my pleas for assistance. Evidently they don't background check or vet the so called pros they refer to vulnerable clients.
