Review of Pure SEO’s Service for rhinos.co.nz
David Cao | 021 226 7800
I signed a 12-month SEO contract with Pure SEO for our domain rhinos.co.nz in February 2023. After investing $46,414 GST inc over 14 monthly payments (Mar 2023–Mar 2024), I’m extremely disappointed by their unprofessional service and zero return on investment:
1. Unauthorized Rate Increase
We initially agreed to pay $3,312 GST inc per month.
After five months, Pure SEO quietly raised the fee to $3,772 inc—with no advance notice or explanation. I have all the email evidence, should anyone need proof.
2. Rigid Cancellation Terms with No Value
Despite a 12-month contract, Pure SEO enforces a “3-month billing written notice to cancel” clause (per their own email).
3. No Tangible Traffic Improvements
After 12 months of “SEO work,” our Google Analytics data shows no meaningful uplift in sessions, users, or conversions.
We’ve saved all screenshots as evidence of their lacklustre performance.
4, Aggressive, Unlawful Debt Collection
When we challenged the overbilling, Pure SEO passed our account to a Debt Collection company Baycorp.
Baycorp sent a 14-day demand including 7 days for post-mail, pressuring us to pay invoices without lawful basis. This felt like harassment rather than a professional resolution.
Summary
Pure SEO locked us into inflated fees, failed to deliver any SEO improvements, then threatened us with aggressive debt‐collection tactics. I cannot recommend their services to any business that actually values transparency, accountability, and real results.
Good luck if you choose to work with them.
