How low can you go?

I used to love this airline. Included bags, easy to get a good seat. This is the first time I have flow with them and I checked in well in advance only to be assigned a middle seat despite there actually being numerous ordinary (not extra-legroom seats) available when I boarded the aircraft. The airline is just grifting for me to pay their exorbitant fees. I have never flown a middle seat with a domestic carrier to date.

Service

staff not very helpful they need more training and the the website and text message service sends out wrong flight information making you miss flights or have you thinking you missed a flight..Southwest is just all over the place!

Southwest Rapid Rewards via Chase is a…

Southwest Rapid Rewards via Chase is a huge scam.
They are raising the annual fee from $99 to $229.
To transfer my "earned" 40,000 miles they charge $400. To buy those same points today would be $660.
What a joke! I'm cancelling my account.

Don't apply!! Southwest Airlines Visa

Don't apply for the Southwest Airlines Visa through Chase! You probably won't ever see a promised statement credit after purchasing your tickets. We didn't . You will, however, be charged a $99 fee from Chase for the privilege of getting the card!

I deleted the Southwest App by accident…

I deleted the Southwest App by accident some time ago and recently wanted to re-install it ?but don’t have the user name / Password / Memorable Information I used before !
I have tried to set up from new / use the Messaging Bot/ and tried to find a email address for Technical Help from Southwest - been at this for 3 hours going round in circles 😖😖Absolutely nothing works !
What a waste of time - can’t even Continue as a Guest as it keeps bouncing me back to Log in ???
Possibly the most non user friendly App I have seen in some considerable time
Southwest should try understanding that not all of it’s Customers are 20 something Technical Wizards and need a little push via on line assistance - will now go elsewhere 👎👎

Worst experience of my life

Worst experience of my life! Tried for 5 days to book a simple room for THREE nights with our 95000 Reward Points! Bounced from Southwest Representatives, to Southwest Rapid Rewards Representatives to their third party (joke of a company) “booking dot com.”
Told multiple excuses; “can’t help you here at SW because you need to contact Rapid Rewards,” RR aren’t open except M-Sat 8-430.
Called Rapid Rewards- the trainee said the trainer who was in the background would call me in 4 hours! I said she is in the background why can’t she talk?! The trainer got on the phone to tell me that I couldn’t use my RR for 5 days not including today because they need advance notice of 5 days!
I said why wasn’t that on the site when I went to reserve the damn place? She said because SW uses Booking . Com and they have their own system! The site says SW Rapid Rewards NIT BOOKING. COM!
She said at the bottom in the fine print it is serviced by them! She told me SW needs to educate their reps on the Booking . Com provider to better serve consumers. WTF?!?!
Now here I am on WEDNESDAY and I called SW to tell them their third party booking.com doesn’t have a LIVE REPRESENTATIVE to speak with.. ONLY AI and I spent 15 minutes on the phone explaining this to the SW REPRESENTATIVE for her to say mam you need to call Rapid rewards! I said NO MAM! I spoke to them three days ago and they said to call SW since yall make the 5-10 rule holding my points for hotels!
She then took my information, AFTER 15 MINUTES OF LISTENING TO HER EXCUSES AND YAWNING!
Transferred me to escalations who tried to assist but had no ability to book rooms. She went through the entire process to see what a NIGHTMARE it is to use MY OWN POINTS!
She said she is sending the complaint to escalations to hopefully resolve this somehow but she herself never heard of the 5-10 day hold for points!
Here we are, wasted FIVE DAMN DAYS ON THE PHONE TO USE OUR POINTS and still can not book a damn room for my children’s birthday this weekend. This was literally for a THREE DAY STAY! Not even a FLIGHT!
We pay a fee of $60 to have SW credit card and “gain points.” It’s a damn scam! Do not waste your time, energy or effort! They do NOT WANT YOU TO USE YOUR POINTS! It’s a scam!

Southwest is AWESOME!

I am disabled and it makes it difficult for me to travel. On mother's Day I got a cheap ticket to go see my son. Southwest airlines employees got my wheelchair at the door of the car and took me to the door of the plane and the same thing coming back. Customer service was awesome, the people were so nice and helpful my luggage was fine and I will fly Southwest every chance I get!

Would it really have been so hard to…

Would it really have been so hard to include a HELP button on your website?
Successfully booked a SW flight and then foolishly tried to book a hotel stay to pick up a couple of extra points with SW. The website is shown as SouthwestHotels.com "In Partnership with Booking.com" whatever that might mean. Tried 3 different cards, all of which are in good working order. Kept getting the error message "Wrong Card Number" No mention of a decline. Nowhere on the site is there a HELP button, much less a phone number to call. Finally called the Hilton I was trying to book, they passed me on to some other booking service which has no connection to SW or Booking.com. Won't bother trying this again.

Southwest is a Joke

Southwest is always late, and their customer service is terrible. I’ve had issues with lost luggage and they don’t even help. I’m done with them.

Ghosted reservation hotel for points

Redeemed rewards points for a hotel and paid a partial fee, several weeks in advance of my travel. I have never received an email from their preferred partner confirming my hotel reservation, and I have tried multiple times to get my confirmation. The partner needs my confirmation number and a pin in order for me to inquire about my reservation. I have even attempted several times to have the email containing that information sent to me, and nothing ever gets sent.
When I call Southwest Airlines, the Rapid Rewards Rep either gives me the partners automated phone system number, which again needs the information I was never sent to initiate help, OR tells me they cannot help because all those transactions originate with the partner. I am just getting the runaround. In the meantime, I have already paid for a hotel room I do not have. That is considered fraud.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so, were they resolved? I would just like to know I have a reservation. My trip is in 3 days. I am flying in, and rented a car, but have no hotel. I am pretty sure this is illegal - taking payment for goods/services not rendered. I am considering a class action lawsuit - whose with me?

First time customer - and last!

I selected Southwest airlines to fly RT from MCO to ABQ for two as it offered non-stop flights. Reputable airlines offer First class, Business, Main cabin, and others in between. Hence, assuming it was business class, I chose the more expensive ‘business select’ that offered priority boarding, in-flight internet, and was refundable. Yet, at check-in I discovered I couldn’t choose our seats, which was confirmed on the phone. What Southwest calls priority boarding refers to be the first 15 people to board – after the handicapped and company. As a result, though our outgoing boarding passes listed us as Group A - Position 4 & 5, at least 20 people boarded before us. Same on the way back. Seats were 16 inches wide and barely reclined 2 inches. In its largess, Southwest gives ‘business select’ passengers one free drink. Conclusion: a low-cost airline pretending not to be one!

SOUTHWORST SUCKS!!!

SOUTHWORST SUCKS!!!! DON'T EVER FLY THEM AND IF YOU DO, DON'T WAST YOUR MONEY ON THE EARLY BOARDING FEES!!!!!! IT'S A TOTAL SCAM AND RIPOFF!!! I paid $40 for "Early Boarding on my last trip and wound up in middle seats towards the back of the plane on both flights!!! When I called to complain when I finally got back home, I was told "too bad, so sad, but that's what it is" The agent I spoke to told me that there are NO supervisors and that all call center operators have the same very limited ability to do anything. She also told me there is NO escalation department. She told me she filled out the complaint form for me and I just got an email saying "too bad, so sad" and of course you cannot reply to any emails from Southworst. Then I called the corporate office phone number, and hit the option for travel experience and their idiotic automated system transferred me to reservation. I guess Southworst REALLY doesn't want to hear all the complaints and work VERY hard to make sure you cannot actually reach anyone.

Southwest Refuses Rapid Rewards Earned

Southwest offers Rapid Rewards points that can be spent on things like Amazon Gift Cards. Since the Covid19 crisis started, they have refused to let me redeem my points. Oh, you can redeem points if you want to use their airlines to travel, but not for the offered reward items. I have nearly $200 worth of points that I accumulated by taking their SW Surveys called Rewards for Opinions. They are rather stingy with the points as well. It takes a while to earn the points. I called Southwest about this problem as I feel that I worked hard to earn the points. Southwest is using the excuse of Covid19 to deny my request. As I said, if I fly I can use them. The rep also gave me two other phone numbers. The first person told me I could have them and sent me to someone else who then said no. Headquarters told me to call the company that distributes the reward cards. However, they refused me, as well. This begs the question, "Why should I continue taking the surveys if they refuse to send my rewards?"
I am really very unhappy about this unfair practice. I even asked for an exception. They do not really care about their customers' needs. This is very bad public relations on their part for someone who often flies with them.

My “go to” airlines!

I love SW airlines! The flight attendants are friendly even at 6 am! When my mother and I flew from Houston to FL to celebrate her and her identical twins 100 birthdays, SW went above and beyond for her. The flight attendant asked everyone to turn on their “call attendant” lights. Then she led everyone in signing Happy Birthday, and then after she made a wish, she asked everyone to turn off their lights. It made her birthday travel very special.

SW always goes the extra mile for its customers. I love that they have a policy to not charge to make changes in reservations. This is one of the two reasons I will only fly SW if they are going where I need to go. The second reason I choose SE first is that I can get 2 free suitcases. I often travel to my grandchildren and one whole bag is stuff for them.
