Ghosted reservation hotel for points
Redeemed rewards points for a hotel and paid a partial fee, several weeks in advance of my travel. I have never received an email from their preferred partner confirming my hotel reservation, and I have tried multiple times to get my confirmation. The partner needs my confirmation number and a pin in order for me to inquire about my reservation. I have even attempted several times to have the email containing that information sent to me, and nothing ever gets sent.
When I call Southwest Airlines, the Rapid Rewards Rep either gives me the partners automated phone system number, which again needs the information I was never sent to initiate help, OR tells me they cannot help because all those transactions originate with the partner. I am just getting the runaround. In the meantime, I have already paid for a hotel room I do not have. That is considered fraud.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so, were they resolved? I would just like to know I have a reservation. My trip is in 3 days. I am flying in, and rented a car, but have no hotel. I am pretty sure this is illegal - taking payment for goods/services not rendered. I am considering a class action lawsuit - whose with me?
