So far I have had a very positive…

So far I have had a very positive experience with the Repromed clinic, both in Drogheda and Dublin. Everyone on the staff we have encountered from reception to nurses to doctors have made us feel comfortable, listened to, heard, calm and relaxed as can be. We are very happy with our choice of clinic and have built a trust with them as we go through our IVF journey.

Stressful and traumatic

I was so excited to start this journey with Repromed but the level if "care" received turned this into an extremely stressful, traumatic experience. Had so change from Galway to Dublin as I was not being heard in Galway at all, but the experience in Dublin was only marginally better. I wish I had not minded the vhi grant and gone to another clinic. Now no longer sure whether to go ahead at all.

From first consultancy we were impressed with level of knowledge and care we received. Patient portal is excellent for keeping a record of all correspondence to check back on if any doubt. Team always responsive to queries.

The best choice for us

The best choice for us. We got the warm friendly feeling I was hoping for the minute we arrived and all the staff members couldn't have been nicer. So happy we choose repromed 😊

I just went through my first ICSI…

I just went through my first ICSI treatment in Dublin which started incredibly well however it has failed. Most people are terribly nice but services could be hid and miss. I find it hard to connect with my doctor. I would expect a bit more insights on the process of my treatment but doctor advised that the nurses are going to give me the more info or leaflets will be uploaded on the portal so I can read it myself. I felt if she had little interest. Online video appointments are not helping either but it’s a standard practice with Covid restrictions. Nurses are very nice and polite but sometimes you feel like you been rushed in and out from the room without a chance to ask questions. All necessary information and documentation is uploaded on the portal which is really very handy, however sometimes I wish someone will just ask me am I alright. Some blood test results weren’t uploaded on the web and there was no update from the nurses or the doctor. I’m ready to start my second cycle of ICSI but considering moving elsewhere.
Also I would recommend to avoid Drogheda if possible.

It certainly is not our intention to make patients feel rushed, sometimes in the current circumstance we need to minimise time spent in the clinic however this should not be at the expense or your experience.

Supportive team

Repromed help to do appointments around your work commitments which has been great for my husband and I. Haven't had any issues to date and still dealing with Repromed Dublin for DE programme. At the moment can't fault them so far. All staff very polite and courteous so far. Always supportive throughout.

Exceptional

So myself and my husband just had our first successful round of IVF with Repromed in Dundrum. Regardless of the result, I found all the staff in the clinic to be so reliable and friendly. If we had any questions, we got a reply straight away which made the whole process so much easier. I would definitely recommend Repromed. Couldn’t fault them in any way. I also found our Dr. amazing.

All about money

I felt like the main aim of ReproMed was to get me to spend more money. I was given conflicting information when I questioned certain things and didn't feel that patient interest was at the forefront. I didn't continue treatment and would not recommend them.

Lack of consistent information.

Lack of consistent information regarding medication which to me is the cornerstone of effective results and success extremely disappointing. I was told I had to be picked up 2 hours after treatment on the day of egg retrieval so of course I arranged this. An hour after treatment the nurse told me I was ready to go after being told two hours and making arrangements based on two hours. Kept coming back and asking if my lift was here making me feel very uncomfortable. Usually left waiting for appointments without being told on arrival that there was a delay. General lack of communication. The portal system is not efficient and its frustrating for a process that is contingent on timing that they do not offer a 24 hour service and weekend appointments. Very impersonal and disappointing overall would certainly not recommend.

Would not recommend

Have been a patient with Repromed the last 2 years. Their patient care has deteriorated significantly in that time.
The nurses are great and very supportive but the doctors and administration staff just see you as a way of making money.
They really couldn’t care less. It’s a very emotional journey and there is next to no compassion, support or flexibility when trying to accommodate patients.
The last conversation I had with the doctor left me feeling very upset and questioning should I even bother going through with another treatment.
Would not recommend Repromed to another couple.
*We had 1 failed IVF. 1 successful FET and 1 failed FET.
Best of luck to everyone trying to conceive.

Delays with service

Feel mislead about wait times and offered no reassurances of when to expect to start (3 months after paying I was told I'd be waiting another "few months", currently 4 months since paying and still none the wiser). Very disappointed with their lack of "patient" care.

Disappointing

Disappointing service from Repromed. We signed up for their egg donation programme and paid up front (which was the best part of €10k) 8 months ago and have barely heard a thing from them except for apologies via a portal having not sourced a donor for us. I feel our expectations weren’t managed fairly as when signing up we were advised that we should have a donor within 60 days, max 120 days - this time has since passed. I have not spoken to a doctor since our initial consultation.
I cannot comment on anything else because even though they have our money they have not done anything else for us.
I’m giving 1 star because when we visited the clinic the nursing staff were lovely. Otherwise it would probably be none because I have nothing to comment on.

Our partners in Finland use a voluntary programme to search for donors and as they need to share your characteristics, be tested and approved this can take a long time, sometimes beyond the expected waiting period. The pandemic has also impacted time frames as people have been unable or unwilling to partake in programmes thus creating delays. Apologies that we haven't met your expectations. We are working hard to ensure that we improve this.

Our IVF Experience

We were struggling to conceive for 3 years. I made an appointment with Repromed and after my first consultation it was decided we would need to go down the IVF route. Although this was very daunting for us, everything was explained thoroughly by the team and any questions we had, were answered within a few hours on the portal. We started IVF in January 2021 and it was advised after our egg collection to do a frozen cycle (FET). Again, everything was explained why this was need. After one FET cycle round, we found out in March we were expecting a baby the end of November 2021. It was a difficult and overwhelming journey but with the help of the Repromed team, we are so overjoyed and grateful that IVF worked first time for us. Thanks so much to everyone in Repromed Dundrum who helped us on this journey. We are so excited for this next chapter in our life.

Change of doctors without patient’s…

Change of doctors without patient’s consent or notice. Trapped and feeling forced into procedure with doctor that you know nothing of.
Embryo grading different to other clinics and little information given to patients in this regard (unless specifically requested in writing).

Repromed is currently dealing with my concerns. I will update if/when resolution is reached.

Nursing staff is polite and helpful however appointments are a little rushed.

The care that has been shown to me by the Repromed Team over the years has been brilliant. We are currently expecting our first child and without the care and support of the team of great nurses, embryologists and doctors it would not have been possible.

Portal communication

New to IVF so I found the lack of real communication hard, all communication with Repromed is done via portal which I found very hard and frustrating to deal with, some communications came across like there was an assumed level of understanding which I didn't have, when it's so new and you are so worried you'd do something wrong and ruin a cycle, the portal just doesn't always work in my opinion. Everyone is so lovely and helpful when you do get to talk to them face to face at appointments - if there was more direct contact it would be better
