We have 3500 5 star reviews on our main review platform here https://rguitars.co.uk/pages/richards-guitars-review (using Yotpo). We use Yotpo because it enables our customers to review specific products along with the service received. Sadly -we cannot pay for both systems and therefore we find, although customers are sometimes kind enough to post TWO reviews - one on our site and one here, most customers tend to only resort to posting on here when they have had a problem which is naturally distressing but unavoidable. The result is a very unfair representation of how many unhappy customers we actually have. I (Richard) am fanatical about providing a unique level of service and if anyone ever has a problem I will contact them in person to help resolve their issue. Richards Guitars provides a bespoke service for anyone requiring a quality acoustic or electric guitar. Live Help is available throughout the day and night via our website, we have a growing Youtube video library and of course you are welcome to visit in person and chat to me - Richard who has specialised in Guitar retail for 27 years - or one of my lovely team :) Every guitar sold is set up to perfection in our workshop and play tested before dispatch to ensure your guitar feels like "your" guitar on arrival and not just "a" guitar. Just received my Jam pal after a week

Just received my Jam pal after a week , I did enquire whether i would need an extra lead to go between Jp and the guitar which I would have purchased at same time but told no, So more waiting.but apart from that enjoying your videos on guitar theory thanks . Regards John Goodwin.

I have tracked down the correspondence you had with Sally in customer service. Her job really is to ensure deliveries / collections and customer service related issues are handled. You asked her if an additional cable was required between the guitar and jam pal. She answered the question literally to the best of her knowledge (she knows nothing about guitars - only what she picks up through her work). She was correct that no cable is necessary between guitar and jampal. You do however require one between the jampal and the amp as well.

Naturally anyone in sales with product knowledge would have expanded on that point so apologies for the misunderstanding.

I am also sorry for the time it took to arrive due to the social distancing !! We are all working in dfferent buildings and doing our best.

Thank you so much for your understanding and appreciation for the videos I am doing. Also - for the 5 star review when you hardly received 5 star service. Thank you.

Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. Richard and his team are brilliant. I have had several guitars from Richards Guitars and they are very professional. My guitar arrived in Spain from the UK yesterday 14th April. Packaging was excellent and the guitar was perfect. Big thank you. Regards John

Beautiful job on the guitar, great service

Beautiful job on the guitar only thing wrong was a knob a tad too low, but easy fix, plays amazingly, with amazing customer service, don’t think I’m ever going to buy a guitar from any other store if I can help it :))

The most amazing guitar

The most amazing guitar I have ever played. Completely convinced it wouldn't have been this great from any other store. The guitar is in absolute perfect condition, superbly set-up. Shipped from UK to Spain without any inconvenience. 100% recommend Richards Guitars!

I'm delighted with this guitar-as…

I'm delighted with this guitar-as Richard has said, it's a "tone monster"! I found Richard to be extremely helpful and informative-he even made a 14 minute video to illustrate the differences between the G CM model and the G OM, which I found immensely helpful. As I live in N Ireland and couldn't travel to Stratford, I was totally dependent on Richard's advice and of course was somewhat nervous at the prospect of ordering a guitar I hadn't played. I'm so glad that I took the plunge, this Furch Blue series G CM is a revelation, and at about £850, it is astonishingly good value. Thanks to Richard and everyone else at Richard's Guitars for their unfailing helpfulness and courtesy at a highly stressful time for us all (the pandemic.) I hope to buy another Furch before too, and will certainly be shopping at Richard's.

Pleased with the outcome.

After some initial hiccups due to communication over webchat/emails, Richard and team did a good job to select a guitar, expedite set up and dispatch to me; all during the hight of this pandemic.

I would definitely recommend Richard…

I would definitely recommend Richard guitars, I asked for his recommendation on which guitar to buy, being an absolute beginner, not convinced he understood my needs.
A electric Acoustic was recommended, which I’m sure would have been wonderful, but i didn’t want to get into amps etc. Choose an Eastman, very pleased with it. And the service provided by Richard Guitars.

vintage v 130CRS

The delivery was little late but that's understandable in the current
situation.There was a problem regarding colour but Sally at customer
services sorted things out.The guitar wasn't an expensive model and apart from being well out of tune the fretwork was first class the action was just right and the guitars playability very good.The tone and volume control are very responsive giving good range of sounds.
If your looking for a guitar in this price bracket £259 Iwould recommend you try out this one.

Faith FNCEBMB. A little nervous about buying a used guitar unseen but shouldn't have worried. Guitar looks and plays like new and is really well set up. I wanted the guitar in a hurry - the team at Rguitars couldn't have been more helpful. No hesitation in giving Richard, Sally and the team 5*****

Not happy expected a much better quality guitar

My girlfriend definitely bought me this from Richards Guitars on line. I received vintage guitar. To be honest I was expecting it to be much better quality for the money. Also I have some issues higher up the neck. Not happy , We will not use again for sure. Lacking in comparison to other purchases elsewhere. Best to go to store first if you can, honestly can’t be bothered as it wasn’t an expensive guitar

I was however looking over the past 5 years of negative reviews and I have found 25 - many of which I know I have resolved with the customer but the review hasnt been updated. I make a policy of contacting any negative reviewer in person to hopefully make ammends. Sadly I am not always allowed to.

We take orders for around 5-6 high quality guitars every day - and every single one is set up to perfection in our workshop. Every guitar I list on my site is a personal recommendation.

With over 2000 guitars a year delivered to our customers - most of which are personally recommended by myself - to receive just 25 negative reviews over 5 years is quite incredible - especially when you take into account just how resource heavy our sales are - many are hand made - take months to build and our quality standards are the highest in the industry - so a lot of opportunity for things to go wrong for a customer.

If I could do anything to make 100% of my customers happy - I would do it. I would do anything.

So I was thinking what I could do and this is it....

I have 25 negative reviews and if you and every other customer who has received a negative review were to contact me with your chosen charity I could raise over £1000

If there were ever a positive reason to have experienced the hardship you have endured - this is it.

SO - It seems everything DOES happen for a reason! Lifes balance restored.

Please just email me richard@rguitars.co.uk and if you could give me the name of the charity you would like the money to go to I will arrange it and confirm my payment here.

Hope you love the idea and I am truly sorry you felt let down

Sale fell through

Sale fell through, no fault of the shop, but dilly-dallied over refunding my money, four days of unanswered calls and messages, I claimed through PayPal in the end which refunded within 2 days.

I put the review on Facebook and then Richard decided to insult me, which he then deleted his messages and insulted me through private email instead!

He's a bit of a nob.

Five stars and no reservations.

That I have now bought three guitars from Richard says it all. This time I wanted advice on a suitable parlour guitar and Richard guided me towards an Auden - a brand I would probably not have considered in my big name driven youth. Buying online can be daunting but Richard is passionate about guitars and his reputation for honesty and straight talking. If you're thinking about buying a Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Fender etc. please first take a look at Rguitars for alternatives. You will be surprised, probably save a whole heap of money and end up with better sound and build quality. You'll get great,informed personal service to boot.
