Very Professional Service and Polite and Happy Staff Member who visited me today. A Very nice touch from the Company to give a call after the visit of the Staff Member. The lady who spoke on the phone too was very polite and Professional.

Yes, Yes, I used the word 'delighted' - Here's why ...

Three dodgy light switches. Like my ex wife ... after many years service ... sometimes they functioned, sometimes they, err, didn't.

No big deal to swap them out, you're thinking. Certainly not for a Right Trades jedi.

But here's the thing of it ...

These switches are 86 years old - each pre-war contraption fashioned from brass, embedded in some sort of exotic ceramic mount, screwed to a wooden backplate. With a side of spiders.

I'm in Leeds, but on the day I was lucky to get Daniel Johnson who, despite the misfortune of being from somewhere called Newcastle, donned his shoe protectors (noted) and got to grips with my ye olde floppy switch conundrum

Due to those pesky 'regs' and the fact that nothing modern would fit, Daniel San still figured a theory to make it all work, but then ...

I remembered that 10 years ago I had bought what LOOKED like similar switch 'innards' from a car boot sale, being the Womble what I am, so I went routing under the house on the odds-against chance I could actually find them

Sing hosanna! ... there they were! (only true magpie-level wombles understand the pleasure of finding & making use of something you squirreled away a decade ago)

So what did Daniel do?

Oh - He only re-fashioned my barn-find gizmos so they swapped out & now JUST fitted the wooden orafice from whence the old janky ones had all but fallen

Job done, and the 'new' switch assemblies now operate perfectly, each complete with reassuringly tactile over-engineered 'chonk' - like throwing frankenstein switches

If Daniel Johnson is typical (as I'm sure he is) of the manner, intelligence, geniality & sheer 'MacGyver-like' inginuity of all Right Trades operatives, then I simply cannot recommend him, and therefore Right Trades enough.

Came within 3 hours of being called. Excellent service from Daniel, who explained everything clearly and left the house very clean and tidy. Unfortunately, he couldn't fix the problem (not his fault - it was the electricity supply to the oil boiler pump that was causing the trouble), but he left everything safe and I was able to have electricity through the rest of the house.
For all you dog lovers out there, he was also lovely with my beagle.

The engineer was very efficient and helpful, explaining what the problem was and how he would fix it. Very polite and courteous.

Unable to fault the chap that came out.
He listened to what we had experienced with our fuse box. Then tested the part that seems to be causing the problem.
He was not able to fix the problem as the part was not longer available now.
He then explained that he would recommend that the hole unit be replaced, but this would have to be authorized first. We would be contacted with a update soon.
We where called a couple of hours later with the update, and a convenient time was arranged to replace the unit.
Carn't ask better than that.
