Avoid! Products may look lovely, but arrive damaged
Please avoid buying anything from Robud. I've placed 2 orders from them (directly and via Amazon), both deliveries resulted in damaged products, and time consuming back and forths with their customer services.
On 8th November we purchased 4 play kitchen units from Robud for £300+. The items arrived, however, after inspection we noticed some of the parts were damaged with scuff marks, chipped corners and edges, or dented.
I emailed Robud's customer services with photos of 6 highly damaged parts and requested either new units to be sent, or single replacement parts. They offered me a £30 refund, or the replacement parts. We asked for the replacement parts. They said these would be shipped immediately.
On 23rd November I contacted Robud for an update as the parts had not arrived and we hadn't heard anything. They informed me the parts were all out of stock and they were working with their warehouse to restock. I informed them this was a Christmas gift for our children and we needed the parts as soon as possible.
On 14th December I contacted them again for an update. On 15th December they informed me the parts were back in stock and had been shipped. I was provided a tracking number - however the tracking never seemed to update from 'awaiting collection.'
On 17th December I contacted Robud again for information on the shipment. I was informed "there was a situation where the logistics and tracking number and no information is updated. This is normal. Please don't worry, you can wait patiently for about 2-3 days."
On 22nd December I contacted Robud AGAIN for an update as we're nearing Christmas and I'm becoming anxious as this is our children's main Christmas present. They replied "We have found that the part you ordered is currently out of stock. We are in the process of acquiring it from our main warehouse in China and will ship it to you as soon as possible."
I have asked for a partial refund of the order as compensation for the inconvenience, wasted time and stress this has caused.
It's such a shame as the products themselves are very nice, and I found the quality is good (our old John Lewis play kitchen was very similar quality.) It just seems they parts are not quality checked or packaged correctly for transportation.
Foolishly I also purchased a Robud product via Amazon a few weeks ago, which arrived with broken pieces. I returned the item and was refunded in full.
I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from Robud with small pieces as I do not trust the longevity of these items. If they can break easily they are not suitable for young children.
