Not heard anything from Rowan for about…

Not heard anything from Rowan for about 4 months now and my carbon points have also not been updated. Cannot get any repaymnt for the alleged 10p per Kw generated for the same period. Contact seems to be impossible. Have they gone bust? Do not touch with a bargepole.

Was told there was an issue with the…

Was told there was an issue with the online payment system so I just waited over winter before I tried again. Now the company seems to have vanished and unable to contact. I was owed hundreds of pounds and it has now vanished

Can not redeem or communicate with Rowan

I haven’t been able to redeem my rewards since October and now the website and emails are not working. I’m assuming this is a scam or a liquidated business. Please approach with caution. I would estimate my account would now be worth around £400.

Has Rowan Energy gone bust?

As far as I know Rowan Energy may have gone bust. I sensed something was up around September so converted my points to cash via a manual transaction. Not long after there was an email sent out saying they were having to source further funding, or something like that.
My 'Smart Miner' packed up in November and it took my AC connection with it, so no solar input until the installer finally turned up in January to sort it. Batteries and panels were all fine but we were on the grid for 2 months. No mining since November, so no points, but up until that point we took around £300 out in the 8 months we were signed up so while it was working it was a good deal.

Company gone silent

They no longer answer the phone or answer emails. This has been the case since August 2025. Without further evidence it appears that they are no longer in business yet they still have a website on top of that since 30th December my smartminer displays "Can't submit energy readings" - extremly disappointing

Don’t go there!

September 2024 approached by row an to buy Miner unit our details given to them by Solar company. Older gentleman came to persuade us to buy although had misgivings. I thought at our age(70s) we would have been better investing in more normal savings! Husband thought it was good idea!
All well until mid last year then problems getting dividends September nothing at all now unit has stopped! No replies to emails or messages!
Contacted Ombudsman no help or Solar company who gave them our details -doesn’t look good on their reputation! So a fat scam supposed someone will say serves us right very disappointing!

Rowan energy is no more

It appears rowan energy is no more. Company was linked to a cryptocurrnecy and the token went off line (June 2025) after owners appear according to some sold crypto at highs and then exited with some reports that the owners have just"disappeared". No email responses no web site help. Don't sign up to it. I have been paid 2021/22/23/24 about the amount I paid in, so im at breakeven. If your owed money like me not sure what recourse we have, anyone know options? Can't see ESE helping out ...

Rowan energy spivs

Email now to state they are transitioning due to withdrawal of a major stakeholder. What s bunch of spivs. I will be contacting companies house to make sure these spivs cant be directors again. I suggest all Rowan energy customers switch off their smartminer devices, as I am doing.

Avoid

Service was good until about 6 months ago when when they changed the payments from PayPal to banks. Since then I haven’t been able to withdraw my funds.
I have contacted via email serval times with no reply and the phone number doesn’t work.
I intend to start legal proceedings shortly

I have been trying to redeem
My points for the last 3 months, I was told in September there was an issue that would be fixed at the end of the week, but the issue remains. I have emailed, logged it through the contact and heard nothing and tried the number which just goes dead. I have approx £300 worth of points I’d planned to use for Christmas so getting really stressed - terrible system

Payments stopped

Everything has been great until summer 25. I redeemed points monthly and payments received within days. Then they said they had changed their payment method. The payments stopped but I kept asking for them. On 13th No ember Claire messaged me and said she had arranged for £105 to be credited to my bank account and it would be there in 3-5 days . I am still waiting and and have sent several chase up emails . Very disappointed to say the least

Are Rowan Energy a genuine company?

In May I had a 'smartminer' installed by my solar panel installer. About a month ago I wanted to retrieve my rewards from Rowan Energy that had accumulated since May so I tried to do this online but it wouldn't let me set up my payments details. I therefore rang and spoke to Claire in Customer Services who told me they were having trouble with their provider, but she could arrange a manual BACS transfer to my account which we agreed. However the funds never arrived in my bank account. I have tried on several occasions to contact Rowan Energy and speak to Claire but no one responds to either emails or phone calls so I cannot get this resolved or any answer on where my payment is! To me this is very suspicious and sounds like the company is at the very least in financial difficulty, or is this a SCAM or fraud (selling smartminers and not paying out rewards)? Today I rang and asked for the contact details for the owner of the business so I can contact them direct and complain, but receptionist couldn't give them to me. I've seen reviews on here from others who are having a similar experience so my advice is to steer well clear of this company. I have zero confidence that I will get any response so think the best course of action is to contact Trading Standards or similar.

I used to get excellent help from…

I used to get excellent help from Claire but their payment system has been broken for many months (I was told following a change of bank) - in the past I only had to ring and Claire arranged a manual payment

I am now finding that when I ring I get through to a remote answering service who has told me three times no one is available but someone will ring me back. Nothing happens!

I fear for the future - I’m lucky enough to have got my up front cost back from payments to date but I would very carefully think about it before investing any new funds

Get your act together!

Proceed with caution

I have been a smart miner user for a few years now. To begin with I had positive things to say about the system, customer support, the customer interface. The system is one which you buy into, I was aware of the risk but payments were forthcoming.

My smart miner has been off line since August, and despite a phone call not being able to resolve it, I was told an engineer would be booked in by the end of the week. That was back end of August start of September.
I have had to continue to prompt for updates, nothing from them to keep me in the loop and feel like they are trying to sort things out and now I cannot cash out my earnings without calling an 0345 number or waiting for the system to be fixed to do it myself ( it’s been an issue for over a week already!!) I wouldn’t feel so annoyed by this but we pay a service charge on getting our rewards too, in addition to our initial investment. One which is a percentage of the payout not a fixed amount.

If you are booked to have one installed take a moment, wait to see if they sort this out fast because I would not plough the substantial amount cash into them if I knew what I did now about their capacity to honour a working system and keep in touch, and it appears I am not in the minority.

Update 1/12: called to have funds transferred on 12/11 called returned 13/11 and told money would be in my bank 3 days. Nothing has arrived. Two emails ignored, and I know I am not the only one.
Just be honest.

Update: 10/02/2026
The company had one final contact with us on 15/12/2025. Merging with another company Sertis. Nothing since. Sertis have now also dissolved.
Rowan filed for liquidation in August 2025, exactly when my miner went off line! We have been lied to for months. David Duckworth, and the other directors, should not be trusted, anything business they are involved in should be a red flag.
