I'm really disappointed in Selfcast

I'm really disappointed in Selfcast. I bought a 3-month subscription, but the app refused to recognize it. I tried to log out, delete it, and restore my subscription within the app. I contacted customer service twice for help, or at LEAST a refund, but no reply. I even tried buying an extra month to see if it would fix my problems, but it just ended up being wasted money.

Incredible Free Opportunity with Room for Improvement

A big thank you to the Selfcast team for the FREE workshop in Stockholm—it was a fantastic initiative. The value was great: a day filled with career tips, acting exercises, a photoshoot, and a lovely mixer with drinks and snacks. I truly enjoyed meeting the Selfcast team and the other talents.

However, as an experienced actor who was put into the advanced group, I found the content less advanced than I was expecting. This workshop would be great for beginners.

It would also be beneficial to make it a two-day workshop with smaller groups, as it at times felt a bit rushed. This would allow the team to properly utilize the different experience levels throughout the sessions.

I truly appreciate the effort and I'm looking forward to seeing what Selfcast does next!

Jag vill ge Selfcast uppskattning för ert varma bemötande, hjälpsamhet och engagemang. Sajten är lättnavigerad och smidig. Hittills har jag inte blivit bokad för något uppdrag efter ca 9 mån medlemskap, vilket är synd, men jag kommer att ge det åtminstone ett halvår till.
En givande workshop i augusti, där jag särskilt uppskattade skådespelarövningarna (synd att vi inte hann jobba mer med filmscenerna dock), samt att mingla och nätverka med kollegor.
Däremot skulle jag önska bättre etiska riktlinjer kring vilka företag ni väljer att samarbeta med. Blev så besviken när jag såg annonserna för en ny Shein-kampanj. Det är ingen nyhet hur oerhört skadlig fast fashion-industrin är för både miljö, klimat och människor. Frankrike har nyligen bannlyst reklam för sådana företag, av mycket goda skäl. Jag tycker resten av världen ska ta efter.

First live Workshop in Stockholm

I was at the first live workshop in Stockholm and the Selfcast team was very accomodating and had alot of energy. The attendees were also inspirational. I would have given 5 Stars if, there were half as many attendees OR the workshop would have been split into 2 days for 2 groups.All in all it was great, but we would have gotten more from the acting workshop IF we had had more time. But i really appreciate getting the chance to join!

Når du bliver ved med at skrive “vi følger dansk lovgivning”, så undrer jeg mig ærligt talt over, om du overhovedet ved, hvad det indebærer. Dansk lovgivning giver dig ikke lov til at forsinke betalinger af løn, slet ikke når der står en klar løndato i kontrakten. Når du ikke betaler til tiden, bryder du kontrakten – og det har intet med “manglende oplysninger” at gøre. Stop med at bruge “dansk lovgivning” som et skjold, når det i virkeligheden er dig selv, der ikke følger reglerne.

Og undskyld mig – “vanskelige vilkår”? Hvis du med det mener, at du skulle bruge ekstra tid på at sende mig de penge, du i forvejen skyldte mig, så nej. Det kaldes konsekvensen af egne dårlige arbejdsgange – ikke “vanskelige vilkår”. Du bliver ikke helgen af at rette op på fejl, du selv har skabt.

Og nu hvor vi taler om dansk lovgivning, så lad os lige vende noget andet. For nogle år siden lavede jeg en TikTok-video, hvor jeg udtrykte min holdning om, at jeg fandt det respektløst, at folk brændte hijabs i protest. Det var min personlige og fredelige ytring – som jeg har ret til ifølge dansk lov. Reaktionen? Jeg blev fjernet fra en reklamefilm, fordi “nogen fra produktionen” mente, at mine holdninger ikke passede ind. Hvem tror du egentlig, du er, når du bruger andres holdninger til at sortere folk fra?

Hvis du eller nogen omkring dig har siddet og “holdt øje” med min TikTok for at finde noget at bruge imod mig, så lad mig bare lige minde dig om, at stalking og diskrimination er også i strid med dansk lovgivning. Det er ikke bare uetisk – det er diskriminerende. Og det er et brud på dansk lovgivning, som du ellers elsker at nævne i tide og utide.Du kan ikke både bryde reglerne og samtidig bilde folk ind, at du følger dem.

Så når du næste gang skriver “vi følger dansk lovgivning”, så gør mig den tjeneste:
LÆS DEN FØRST!

Og nu har du så valgt at deaktivere min profil – som en slags straf for at jeg står ved min oplevelse og siger min mening? Det er ikke bare barnligt – det viser også, hvor lidt du egentlig kan tåle kritik. I stedet for at rette op på fejl, vælger du at lukke munden på folk. Det er ikke professionelt. Det er personligt. At du vælger at deaktivere min profil, bare fordi jeg bruger min stemme, siger alt. Du vil ikke have, at jeg siger min mening offentligt – og det er ikke første gang, du reagerer sådan.

Din kommentar om, at “sagen er afsluttet”, er et forsøg på at slippe uden om ansvar. Men du skal ikke tro, at du kan tie folk ihjel. Din måde at håndtere det her på er ikke bare respektløs – den er også gennemskuelig.

Og stop venligst med at bruge “vi” i dine svar. Det er dig, Maria, der har truffet beslutningerne. Det er dig, der har ignoreret henvendelser, forsinket betaling og nu forsøger at afskære enhver kritik. Lad være med at gemme dig bag “vi”, når det hele kommer fra dig.
Du skriver, som om du taler på vegne af et helt team – men lad os være ærlige: det er bare dig. Du bruger flertalsform for at virke mere “professionel”, men der er intet professionelt over den måde, du har håndteret det her forløb på.

Lies and bad treatment of artists.

Bad treatment of artists. I was recently lied to about being "Booked" for a job and then being told after saving this day for the job that I and others that were booked are not on the schedule anyway. This is inhuman behavior. I have had this app for many years and applied for very many jobs and gotten booked for a very few amounts. This app has caused me more disappointment than encouragment. This form of business is to me dishonest and breaks the rules of how to treat people and especially artist. Not good.

Thanks for your feedback.

We understand your disappointment and respect your right to express your experience. However, we would like to clarify that Selfcast acts solely as a casting platform, not as an employer or production company.

The changes in the shooting schedule were made solely by the production, due to unforeseen weather conditions. All booked talents were informed immediately, and every effort was made to reorganize roles based on the new plan. Unfortunately, not all talents could be accommodated within the limited roles available after the change.

As is standard practice in the industry, a binding agreement typically occurs once a contract is signed and final confirmation is given shortly before the shoot.
Until then, project changes can occur, although we always strive to minimize such disruptions for our talents.

We remain committed to treating all talents with respect, fairness, and transparency, and we are always available for further clarification if needed.

Such a wonderful concept. Signed up my kids to give it a go at modeling.The app is easy to use and I appreciate the transparency in progress of your application. No ghosting here :). You’ll always receive a response. The team behind this beautiful app is also a great one.

Jeg fik kendskab til appen igennem en kollega, og jeg er så glad for at have fundet den. Først og fremmest er det nogle søde mennesker bag appen, der altid er klar til at hjælpe. Selfcast appen gør det nemt at komme direkte i kontakt med forskellige caster til spændende jobs. Det har givet mig en mulighed, som jeg synes manglede for helt almindelig mennesker, der drømmer om at komme ind i underholdsningsbranchen. Derudover er der jobs for alle, dog håber jeg der kommer lidt flere. Men en kæmpe anbefaling herfra 🤩🤩

Meget tilfreds med Selfcast App - Nem at bruge med gode jobmuligheder


Jeg er glad for at bruge Selfcast appen. Den har hjulpet mig med at få flere jobs, og jeg har haft en god oplevelse med den. Appen er nem at bruge, og det er let at søge efter jobs – præcis som med andre castingbureauer kræver det, at man søger mange jobs for at få nogle. En af de bedste funktioner er, at man nemt kan følge, hvor langt man er i casting-processen, hvilket giver et godt overblik. Jeg håber, at der i fremtiden vil være endnu flere jobopslag, især inden for dans, så mulighederne bliver endnu bredere.

I'm happy to use the Selfcast app. It has helped me land several jobs, and I've had a positive experience with it. The app is easy to use, and applying for jobs is straightforward – as with other casting agencies, you need to apply for many jobs to land a few. One of the best features is the ability to easily track where you are in the casting process, which provides great transparency. I hope that in the future there will be even more jobs available, especially in dance, to further expand the opportunities.

Great platform for actors & models looking for international experience

I booked my first international photoshoot with L'Oreal Paris in March 2024 through Selfcast. I was flown to Copenhagen from Helsinki, and everything went super smoothly - I felt very supported and the communication between the production company, Selfcast & I was great throughout. I've found Selfcast to be the best platform for international work opportunities (there's also local jobs as well!) :)

My Selfcast Experience

My experience with Selfcast has been good. I’ve been able to get booked for fun, interesting and good paying gigs.
The staff is always helpful and available when I need assistance.

The only thing that I could say needs improvement is on the app when scrolling through different castings, once you get to a certain point, the screen automatically scrolls to the top of the page.

SELFCAST IS THE BEST CASTING APP

Selfcast is a genuine and brilliant casting application. I've booked more than 10 jobs (TV commercials, photoshoots, commercial campaigns, SM campaigns etc. ) through this app over the course of 2,5 years. The app is super easy to use and the people behind it are very nice and professional. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and I can't wait to work more with these incredible people!

Through Selfcast I got selected for a commercial campaign which led to filming in Georgia, Abu Dhabi and Serbia. There are many opportunities posted daily on the app. I definitely recommend it.
