disappointed

honestly— i’m confused, the reviews tell a different tale than the products. i was ecstatic to receive 3 shaggy hats from new zeland as a californian, especially since i paid $130.

however, i was disappointed to say the least when i opened the package to a strong chemical scent, indicating an unethically sourced and made product. sure enough, i checked the tag to see made in china.

i was shocked, especially from a brand who markets their company being from new zeland, its not out of the ballpark to expect their products to be made in new zeland as well.

dont get me wrong, i love the design and will still be wearing them as their no return policy is in effect, but i wish i could wear them knowing the quality is better than the reality because frankly it feels thin and cheap.

recommend for the design and if you don’t care about getting jipped for your $

I've brought many things from shaggy now and the quality of all the clothing and hats is perfect. The hoodies hold their shape so well, and all the clothing really gives surfer vibes, which I love. Would love to see different styles of tees and maybe even some board shorts come - think that would be a solid idea.

I've collected a copious amount of hats from Jacob at Shaggy. Many more than I realistically need, but he made it quite difficult (almost impossible even) not to. From good quality and attention to detail, to unique designs that feel both nostalgic and fresh at the same time, and a reasonable price tag that still beats out a lot of other hat companies that produce a lesser quality lid. When I order a hat from shaggy, I'm not let down. They fit my head perfectly right out of the (good looking) packaging, and they always come exactly how they look on the webby. My favourite hat (all white canvas five panel with black magic 1989 Americas cup sailing embroidered design) is so good looking that it barely left my noggin for a good while, I knew it was going to end up getting pretty scuffed, so I made sure to order another one before they sold out. I also almost always get a compliment about whichever hat I'm wearing, and I make sure not to gate keep where I got it from.

I've really not got anything but good things to say about Shaggy. My only qualm is that I don't have more money to buy more Shaggy products.

I've also brought a t-shirt, which I still wear over 2 years (ish) later, and a couple key chains which are used daily (and they came free with some hats, how good!) not to mention some of the best stickers I've ever owned (including my metallic foil dinosaur ones I had when I was a younggin).

Look, if you're reading this, contemplating whether you should invest in a lid, tee or whatever it might be that's caught your attention, let this be your sign. You're probably already a pretty cool human, but the moment that package arrives and you put the hat or tee on, you'll be 10x cooler. I could write on about how much I love this company for ages, but then you'd spend all your time reading it which would prolong you from having a swag shag hat on your scalp. So I'll leave it here.

Ordered from shaggy a few times, dispatch and delivery has always been quick! The quality of shaggy’s products are next level, so much detail has gone into their pieces and you can really tell when you wear/ use them. The two hoodies I have purchased are thick and warm! And I have received many compliments! Love that they are a small batch company, meaning you can trust that the quality is good and that you are wearing something that is unique! Purchased off shaggy on four seperate occasions. Great store products look as per advertised photos. Shipping faster than a grom picking up your wave. Returns are handled efficiently too. I purchased incorrect size sent it back and item was turned around within the same week. Kiwi brand hustling quality seems to be more reliable than my 9’6 in any head high surf.

I have two hats and a shirt the shirt gots holes in it after a couple of months but the hats have held out strong. And my order was quick for it being international.
Over all solid brand and worth checking out for a hoodie or a hat!
