insane charges for an accomodation

This company charged us 250pounds for having our dog with us for 7 days accomodation. I have never seen such an expensive fee for a dog.
Additionally they required us to pay 500 pounds as deposit and on that deposit they charged 2.95% for the fee and VAT. I dont understand how a fee and VAT can be applied on a refund.
They applied the same charges on the 250pounds deposit.
Incredible.

Thank you for your email. I’m sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the charges applied to your reservation.

Regarding the pet fee, this is set by the accommodation provider and is outlined in your quote prior to booking. The fee covers the additional deep cleaning required after check-out to ensure the apartment is ready for incoming guests. Please note that these fees can vary depending on the provider, location, and length of stay.

The £500 refundable security deposit is held to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your stay. Following a post check-out inspection, the deposit will be refunded to the original payment card, less any applicable card fees.

The only exception to the pet fee is for service animals, provided the appropriate supporting documentation is submitted.

The 2.95% charge is a merchant service fee applied by Barclaycard on credit card transactions. As of 2026, VAT is also applicable to these card fees.

Exceptional service

Rhianna Keir has been terrific. I mentioned a few, small things that would be nice to have in the flat, such as a coffee maker, a dish towel in the kitchen and heavier curtains in the bedroom to block the light. I intended these as suggestions for the future and was shocked when the very next day, all these things were in the flat. I was happily surprised by such excellent service.

Excellent service

Great service and very fast response

We quickly had to rearrange accommodation for employees based in Dubai, as their travel plans were disrupted due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Ollie managed to rebook accommodation nearby and also reached out to out employee to offer support. In addition he moved the check-in date to earlier that day as employees were not attending the office.

Great communication and seamless…

Great communication and seamless arrangements

I initially reached out to SilverDoor because I’m honestly not a big fan of Airbnb, mainly due to my perceived uncertainties and mixed feedback. After reading several positive reviews, I decided to contact SilverDoor as they specialize in serviced apartments, which felt much more suitable for a longer stay as tourists.

From the very beginning, the experience was excellent. Michael, their Key Account Manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. He assisted us from booking all the way through our stay, addressing any issues that came up promptly and professionally. Even after our stay, he continued to support us when we needed some important paperwork, which we truly appreciated.

Overall, I can confidently vouch for SilverDoor’s legitimacy and their strong customer service. We started coordinating with Michael as early as early September and stayed in Valencia, Spain from October to November 2025, and the experience was smooth, reassuring, and well-managed from start to finish. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable serviced apartment provider.

Victoria Saunders assisted me through finding an apartment in Singapore and I cannot say enough good things about the service I experienced. Shane Soh (Singapore) was incredibly responsive, professional and accommodating to my requirements for a trip to Sydney. He presented multiple options at a reasonable rate and the accommodation was perfect. Will certainly use him again.
