Wouldn't use them and went through Zuto. Now paid them off. Settlement wasn't the figure we had been set out to believe it would be, due to incorrect wording from SMF member of staff. Car had issues from start to finish, spent £3000 to repair the car to a standard my 17 year old son could drive safely. The garage said they would fix the issue. They took the car back for 14 days and went back on the written agreement after keeping it that long and just said you pick it up! 90 mile round trip. Finance company wouldn't back us either though they had all the reports of the faults. Zuto said it wasn't their issue now as the dealer was fixing it. But the didn't. Now they have gone bust and have lots of bad reviews so they should never have been allowed to be used. We should have checked! but we were told it was an AA approved dealer
My review is the same as the majority worse than poor, however I have escalated my dispute I have taken and shared the publics experience I can see fraud, the police as I have filed a legal case against this company with all my recordings
This is very helpful with my case 83% and counting. I Will take a screen shot of these evidence very clear a theme of poor practice and further serious complaints to share
I have checked legal complaints against the company, I would urge view the similar complains and refer to case recorded to file your complaint

Hi bought a car through smf finance wanted to do voulantary termination they would not collect the car but make me sign a liability form for alot of charges I refused and held my ground you do not have to sign a thing to return the car the law states this noor any charges to collect the car you arrange a payment plan they refused despite numerous emails they ignored and took me to court at the court I had proof of voulanty termination and email correspondence there solicitor and smf denied any email correspondence had been done they affected my credit score even though voulantary termination was done they tried to give me the court costs which the judged denied as he stated proof of voulantary termination was done then they said he was aggressive to the staff which I had every right they would not collect the car and wanted me to accept liability charges now they are collecting the car I will not sign any document of liability the car was maintained 2 keys log book every car has wear and tear for the time you have 2.5 years now I have written to the financial ombudsman on the stress they have caused and impacting my credit score all the reviews are right about this company rude no compassion and the name mark goes round alot rude an a bully and wants to extort you my advice to everyone hold your ground because the law is the law always get advice from websites that can help you with these types of companies and what you can do and can't do they can threaten you all they want keep copies know the law you don't have to pay any extra charges and voulantary termination is legal

If you’re facing financial difficulties, don’t expect any understanding or flexibility from this company. I explained that I would pay off my arrears throughout the year on top of my usual payments, but they outright refused and demanded more a month which is out of my means. Instead, they resorted to threats, claiming they would repossess my car.
Their approach is rude, uncompassionate, and unnecessarily stressful. It’s clear they have no interest in supporting their customers through tough times. Only God can deal with people like this.

Absolutely the worst company iv ever come across! Paid over 12 grand over half fell into financial difficulties due to work, rather than help they doubled the monthly payments then just randomly turned up repoed the car valued at 16 grand so they had 12k plus a 16 k car and now saying I owe them 10k still?? Surely this is not right!!
5 Star for Adam
Not had the best of engagements (in-life) with SMF, however i just so happen to call in to a chap called Adam, and he was super helpful , incredibly informative and put my mind at total rest. On that basis, thanks to Adam, my perception has changed and he fully deserves a 5 star review .

Shocking company finance finished after 2 years gave the car back took plenty pics before pick up of the vehicle the company are saying there is £978 worth of damage to the vehicle absolute disgrace of a company funny how there 3rd part report for repairs is always in there favour will be taking this further absolute jokers!!!
No words can describe how bad this company is
Of course percentage is high so you would think something for something right, unfortunately no the customer service in that company is absolutely terrible, when you ask them a question they answer completely something else maybe english language is too hard for them, if you contact them about something they wont even put it in the system so you get 30 calls a day. All together they are very unhelpful and I regret choosing them from couple options.

Bought a vehicle which was financed though SMF. Had it for two years and during the end i was struggling financially. I'd paid over half the value back and handed the car back.they said yeah fine all good. Now they are coming after the interest that they would have made.£7,295.
So I've paid for the car, given the car back which they have sold but I still owe the outstanding balance... Is this right 🤔

Taken 7/8 months or more to try and resolve a complaint.. they took the car back eventually. then still continue to take monthly payments. Bunch of thieves!!!
Appalling lack of concern
This finance company are taking £200 pounds off me a month for a car that is not fit for purpose, so the garage, Zuto and the finance company are ignoring my complaint. I have been sold a car with a part missing from it that meant the exhaust fumes were pumping directly into the vehicle since I have had it. I was not able to smell this, as I have had covid, but this has been poisoning me, making me ill and I have been transporting my grandchildren in this car. I am reliant on my car, have not had the use of it now for weeks whilst I get it fixed, I am disabled and 62 and the service is appalling. I should not be expected to pay for a car that has been potentially lethal. They and the garage and the brokerage firm just ignore me, so I am not resulting to social media before taking my case to the ombudsmen.

fell behind with a payments
Had a car in 2023 and fell behind with payment I asked to make a arrangement to clear the arrears and they agreed but less than a month after arranging the repayment plan I was made a mistake with the amount by less than £20 pounds and within a few hours I had there collections agents ringing me for the car I rang them SMF back to address the issue and got told that they will not be making another arrangement with myself and I have to pay arrears in full or they are taking the car I spoke to collections and the team were arrogant and unhelpful I lodged a complaint to the complaints department and they apparently have no record of the complaint I'm disgusted with the unprofessional company ethos. AVOID THIS SHAMBLES OF A Company.. I will be in contact with FCA to lodge a complaint

Please don’t use this company!!!! I asked for my legal right to use the 14 day unwind and 30 days on they were still refusing to let me execute my legal right. They are rude and lie on recoded calls all the time. By a million mile the worse finance company I have ever dealt with. DONT USE THEM PLEASE!!!

2nd time of using this company. Have had no problems. Bought a car in 2022, paid off early, no problem. Bought new car in 2024, have had no issues at all.

Absolutely disgusting company with zero morals and below sea level work ethics equal to pigeon waste.....they hound you for payment like nothing I've seen on this planet, also if your direct debit isn't collected successful they add £12 arrears immediately NOT at the end of the day....IMMEDIATELY !!! (even if you've made payment by BACs on the SAME day as the DD......Unbelieveable !!!
Agreed a pay arrangement on a particular day, they didnt take the whole payment as agreed but tried to debit my account for the remainder on another day which would have caused havoc and confusion on my account....Unbelieveable!!!!
If your reading this you probably dont know me from adam but take my advice stay WELL clear of this so called company, they are vultures in every sense of the word.
