Like to try rob you of the money they owe you. Can’t comply with fca regulations like to think they know better than a barrister and the vehicle manufacturers. Julie’s bloody useless thinks she should be treated as royalty when she falsified documents to get a third party inspection in her favour. Try to speak to Simon Bailey yet apparently they can’t contact him regarding any issues he doesn’t deal with them. If you want to be the owner of faulty vehicles with them claiming their contact doesn’t make them liable their the perfect company for you otherwise avoid at all costs

Used this terrible company to buy my car on finance and have had nothing but trouble with the car.
Gearbox failed - new gearbox £895
Cat failed - £490 and just failed again another £490.
On contacting SMF they could not be interested in any form and clearly placed the blame on my shoulders, never missed a payment, cant wait to pay the car off and never touch this company in any shape or form again.

Due to pay our car off this year and they are hitting us with all sorts of charges but won't provide what these are after asking for them.
Made an arrangement for an amount to be taken out as direct debit and they took £189 extra out from what was agreed.
We also made a payment online to them and it never showed on our account till we questioned this. There excuse was a technical error. Now passing to the financial ombudsman to deal with this pathetic company.
Never again would I use them. I would rather walk than use this company to finance a car or anything

I used this company for my car finance, I had no problems. Great customer service and the payment portal was great to use and keep track of my repayments and request settlement figures. Recommended.
Do not touch these people
I took out with them in 2013/14 they set a debt recovery company on me and the loan is no longer valid SMF seemed to think I might had had my reference number tattooed on me
After no contact in 9 years they appear to magically found my email address today. The debt recovery company have closed their account and now won't chase me for money
AVOID!
AVOID!! You try to contact them to clear arrears and complain twice they dont seem to be able to answer that but can send a letter out

Smf have been absolutely amazing with me while I'm going through a bad time at the moment there support is the best very understanding and very helpful to there customers ahman I think it is sorry If I've I got your name wrong he was lovely thankyou so much and too the other staff members I've spoke to you are all wonderful people thankyou for helping me 5 stars easily the best car finance company I've ever been with
Car Faulty - Rejected with FOS - 6+ Month Process
Took over 6 months to get SMF to reject the car and refund all premiums. FOS even told SMF to stop charging me whilst the Complaint was being handled, but they refused and I ended up paying for a car I couldn't drive.
Had to chase the complaints team multiple times - became a daily task via email and phone. Even had to mailshot the MD and Directors (that I found on LinkedIn).
I ended up faciliating the communication between SMF, FOS and the Dealer - surely that should be the complaints teams resposnibility and not the customers!
Complaints Team are massivly understaffed and the expereince I had means I'll never use SMF again. If I can't trust the process this time, why and how can I trust it again?

This is by far the worst company i have ever dealt with, unwilling to help whatsoever in hard times if you fall the slightest bit behind just send constant messages saying we are picking up the car, can't contact them by email as address advertised doesn't exist, staff are unhelpful and have no idea what they are doing, in four years only spoke to one useful person which is tom, the rest should be fired for incompetence

I come across SMF motor through carloan 365 and at first it went smoothly without much hassle but I decided to cancel the loan contract within 14 days as per contract because my family decided to purchase the car outright to avoid the high interest cost. I called SMF customer service and this been logged and was told my account would be cancelled. After a week there were no update so I called on several occasion and been told different things. The company does not reply and complaint team do nothing. This been a stressful process and I don’t recommend anyone to use SMF. Poor customer service.

Can’t send a complaint through there email address. Have logged on to my account and put one on through there. Seems like a company very hard to contact. Writing this on a Saturday so will try and phone Monday to try and see what’s going on. Update email sent so guess it was a temporary situation.
